. tragedy in the water. a man is dead after two boats collide in curtis creek. >> evening. we start tonight with that developing story. the accident happened just hours ago. we are live on the scene. >> reporter: well the emergency crews had just finished pulling the capsized boats out of the water from behind the beach bar in this area. investigators still don't know

what caused this crash. friends say it was a 47-year- old ricky henson, a popular lifelong resident who died on board his boat. >> he died what he loved doing. that's being on the water. he lived few houses down the street. that's where he grew up. everybody knows him. that's why everybody is here. >> reporter: police say two boats collided in the water. one driven by john martins and his 13-year-old daughter may have gone over ricky henson's boat striking him and killing him instantly. martins and his daughter were thrown into the water and refused medical treatment. investigators scanned the wreck and talked to witnesses neighbors grieved the loss of a father of four and a friend to so many. >> new baby in his life. new beautiful girlfriend and my wife and i would go out with them and just tragic.

big loss. >> reporter: maryland natural resources police say they will look at if speed and alcohol may have played a role in the crash. live in the point pleasant area. eyewitness news. >> on top of that story. thank you. wjz always on for instant updates. additional video from the scene you could go to the website. early morning shooting in montgomery has left at least one person dead. the gun shots rang out in the 900 block of university boulevard. when police arrived they found a man with multiple gun shot wounds, later two other men showed up at the hospital with gun shot wounds. >> told of two other subjects, a 39-year-old man and a 44-year- old man in a nearby hospital.

their relation to this event is under investigation. >> update from police who say they recovered a hand gun at the scene. elk ridge community in mourning after a teen dies in a horrible accident. he was riding his bike when police say a drunk driver hit him. tonight pat warren reports on the reaction. >> reporter: this memorial marking the shoulder of the road where he was hit shortly after midnight friday morning. >> just devastating. >> reporter: he was riding his bike near lark brown road not far if home when he was hit. he was transported to shock trauma with a severe head injury and died saturday evening. the pastor spoke to the family. >> each day i drive to their house i find myself shaking my head in disbelief. it just can't be. one of the neighbors -- somebody here and they were

walking out of their house three different times to walk up to help out but were so grief stricken. just hard to image. >> reporter: friends posted pictures of memorial on his face back page. >> they were very close. terms of some of the small group leaders that were here. i saw them at the house and when his sister and connecting her and caring for her. >> reporter: police charged a 26-year-old friday with causing a life threatening injury while driving under the influence and with possession of heroin. >> police believe the suspect had consumed alcohol prior to driving. it's not known if he had drugs in his system. that will be determined through investigation. >> reporter: the family made the decision to donate his organs. >> i say just thank you to everybody who has been willing to help out and particularly the doctors who did their best. >> reporter: his uncle says he

shouldn't have been out that late at night probably but by the same token if the police report is correct that driver should not have been behind the wheel either. pat warren. >> and as of tonight no further charges have been filed against the driver. he had a previous drug arrest as well. >> the man accused of opening fire at the holocaust museum will be in court later this week. he is a accused of killing steven jones. he was then struck? the by other guards. he is expected to be arraigned in court on wednesday. he could face the death penalty if convicted. we have breaking news out of georgia. an 8th person has just died as a result of those mass killings inside a mobile home. tonight we report for wjz that police are offering a $25,000 we ward for information leading

to an arrest. >> reporter: inside this small mobile home authorities in glenn county georgia ga are investigating the biggest mass murder they have seen. eight are dead, one critical. >> somebody went in and murdered them. >> reporter: police don't have a suspect and hope a reward will create more leads. >> what is $25,000 mean? we need help. anybody with information that can call us to tell us we need that help. that's the simplest way i can put it. >> reporter: not know figure a mass murder is on the loose has residents scared. >> i lock my doors now. i don't -- i try to stay in and i lock my car. if i'm the only one in the car. >> reporter: police have arrested a 22-year-old. he made the 911 call telling them about the murders. so far police have charged him with illegal possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence and making false statements.

however police will not call him a suspect yet and are asking for the public's help. >> it's not a matter of seeing something. it could be hearing something. >> reporter: police say the autopsies on all eight should be finished by monday. investigators are still gathering physical evidence from the crime scene and say they have no reason to believe any of the victims committed the crime. cbs news new york. >> and tonight there is only one survivor of the attacks and that person is in critical condition. frag tragedy strikes a campus after a student falls four storey from a parking garage. crews say the student believed to be around 20 fell from the mohawk garage. the student is being treated at a hospital for unknown injuries. police are investigating. in just a matter of hours the first day of school starts

. in texas this weekend a black tie event took a fori turn. it was the cats wearing black and white. the event was held for black and white cats and they all wore bow ties. an animal group held the event to spotlight the city's homeless cats. it was raining food in nevada this weekend. take a look at 50,000 pounds of tomatoea flying in the air in reno. thousands joined in for this food fight. i don't know it looks kind of fun. participants paid ten dollars toward a good cause, the american cancer society and for $50 more could throw them at the mayor of reno. get him. we will be right back.
