machine doing the breathing, i was crushed. >> test ran, test ran, that evening that's when we learned she had h1n1 virus. her heart stopped, they resuscitated her. >> reporter: another child who's age and gender are not being released fell i'll ill and died last friday, that child did have underlying medical conditions. >> the elderly and adults, will fall ill, go back to school and lead entirely normal lives. >> reporter: it is crucial for students to get both the seasonal flu and the h1n1 flu vaccine when it becomes available. >> h1 may will not last for the entire flu season. it may go down and when it goes down, the other types of flu

may come up. so it's important to have both seasonal protection and h1 protection. >> reporter: now we called the state health department today and they could not confirm the death. medical records are kept private. a reminder now for everyone, the seasonal flu virus is available now. the h1n1 flu virus will be available next month. and an officer that was shot outside of home has taken a turn for the worse. tonight he is in critical condition. officer harris has had five surgeries for bullet wounds in his stomach and leg. tonight a neurorow scientist who studied the effects of drugs on the brain has died of an apparent overdoze. and her live in boyfriend is facing a number of drug chargeless. both were research fellows in

the university of maryland school of medicine. >> reporter: 33-year-old clinton mccrackn is at the center of a federal investigation after police find large amounts of imported drugs inside his dover street home. the very drugs that killed his girlfriend. >> the boyfriend was taken to the homicide unit and interviewed. information was learned that the victim and her boyfriend had been purchasing recreational drugs and they had been using them. >> reporter: police say john overdozed on norphine or butte. a drug used to treat recovering heroin addicts. charging documents reveal over the past two to three year, the doctors purchased bubin and other drugs online. drugs were smuggled in hidden in stuffed animals. >> shocking to me.

limited electricity and phone service. michelle guillen, wjz news. critical infrastructure is released about some of our area bridges. recent inspections found problems with two heavily traveled bridges, kelly -- >> reporter: our media partner the baltimore sun is reporting that its recent inspections that revealed two major bridges in our area need major work. concerns about the bay bridge infrastructure have grown after a fatal crash killed a bus driver last year. now the route 40 bridge and interstate 95 bridge both going over the river have their own problems. >> i think infrastructure in general. they will ago act on it as quickly as possible.
