>> hello again, i'm jessica kartalija. >> don scott, here's what people will be talking about today, we may not be able to see snow like the north's but we're not out of the woods yet. the threat of high winds is out there and a winter storm and high-wind watch goes into effect for many areas. live with first warning coverage. more on high winds in the area, first marty in the weather center is tracking the system. good afternoon. let's go ahead and talk about what is happening and what will go on. here's first-warning doppler radar. we haven't had any issues at this point but the winds are starting to fire up and going to be some light snow showers banding into the area. we'll touch on that.

winter storm warnings are through the afternoon and the overnight and where the watch is. notice the dark tan, that covers the entire graphic. we now ad the high-wind warning into the mix. we have this deep area of low pressure, it's starting to become a very impressive feature on the satellite photo i'll show you. as predicted, the winds firing up and coming around the low and that is helping it. going back to doppler, that's starting to fling a little bit of snow our way, you can see how the return went. it's banding around that low. look at the snowfall total graphic. it's a big storm, we're on the southern end. our local graphic is still as we've been talking about for

two days, 2-4 inches. it may be pushed back a little bit but the big issue is going to be the winds. coming back one second. we call it is sneak of the show. over 15 hours, we stared down 64-inch, we don't have control over the win. the only thing that save us is that during the two blizzards, nature pruned itself, a lot of limbs and trees came down that were not in good shape. there's a bright side to the wind story, it could be nature has taken care of the problem. in about 5 hours, the winds are going to be howling. >> thank you. live first warning weather coverage continues with one of the snow stations stations in hamden. >> the wind is starting to pick up, that's why even though crews have been out since 8:00

gigi barnett has the latest. >> reporter: good afternoon. medical examiners from pennsylvania are taking the stand following testimony from the mother of javon thompson, yesterday she explained how consult leader told her that her son was filled with are rebellious spirit and ordered her to stop feeding him and how she prayed and danced around his body in hopes to bringing him back to life something she still believes will happen. >> the child's mother has pleaded guilty to child abuse in the death. police in baltimore are asking for the public's help to find an armed robbery suspect. this is 41-year-old john cardwell. the crime happened in june. both suspects demanded money while pointing a gun at an

employee. he is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information is asked to call police. police reviewing video from a downtown hotel after the frederick man is found dead outside of it. the man was in baltimore with friends celebrating a birthday. his friends found his body wednesday morning in love grove alley besides the comfort hotel and suites. his death is called suspicious. >> a columbia man intentionally set the fire that kill him. he was found dead inside his burning home last week. neighbors say he lived alone and did not have relatives in the united states. investigators figure how he started the fire. a day-long health care summit. the president is trying to push

one of his top agenda items closer to reality. >> reporter: president obama across the street in an effort to cross party lines and reach a compromise on health care reform. >> what i'm hoping to accomplish is for everybody to focus not just on where we differ, but focus on where we agree. >> their agreements are happening on live tv leading rerepublicans like the idea of the summit but want to be consulted. >> we have to start by taking the current bill and putting it on the shelf and starting from a clean sheet of paper. >> reporter: the president and the top aids plan to cover four themes during the six-hour summit meeting. they include reforming insurance, controlling costs and reducing the deficit.
