today. updating the breaking news from dundalk, a warehouse collapsed engulfed by flames. captain mike perry, tell us the latest on the scene there. >> hello, mary, the firefighters arrived at the distillery. this is at sellers point road in dundalk, baltimore county. the first alarm was at 4:09 and as the firefighters arrived, they had the smoke and flames coming from one of several abandoned distillery buildings. they have the heavy smoke and flames -- [no audio] okay, as you can see, that was captain mike perry, we lost his audio. and the rain is gone and the conditions are dangerous. there's a flood warning for baltimore city and surrounding counties. bob is following the record

breaking conditions that flooded several areas. gigi? well, the key word is normal. people want to get back to normal. bge crews have been working around the clock, 12 to 16 hour shifts to restore the power to people who need id. >> reporter: after several inches of water flooded homes and businesses across the state, tonight, the clean upcontes. a little more than 54,000 customers have power and crews are working overtime to restore electricity to others. >> we've been cleaning up since 8:30 this morning. >> in annapolis, this man is trying to clean up and get more customers back in for dinner. the flooding went up the back alley and in through the rear doors of the other shops. everyone got a taste of it. >> reporter: while some stores

remain closed because of the weather. some businesses jumped to action. >> we're storm chasers. >> reporter: he traveled from ohio to find water damage. he's part of a disaster response team that cleans homes and businesses flooded by the storms. >> reporter: any amount of rain, normally and typically, whether it's 2 inches to 20 feet, that's, you know, that's pretty bad. and you know, that's what we do. we help as many people out as we can. >> reporter: bge's crews will remain on the streets and fix the damage. back at the jones falls. the jones falls is back to 1 foot. the water wiped it in and now, it's back to 1 foot. and bge says that there were 54,000 customers that lost electricity and there's still a ways to go. the first warning weather

coverage continues with bob now. taking a quick look at the radar. the storm that gave us the rain is causing rain up north near boston and cape cod. they're getting a lot of rain and that's moving out, slowly and surely. taking a look at the rainfall numbers. that's an amazing step. the big, big numbers, bel air, over 10 and down in rondel, 10 1/2 and wild wood in st. mary's county, 14 inches and pax river, 12.57 inches and 6- inches in easton and 4 in cover and way -- 4 indover. before the storm, bwi had an inch of rain. okay, the city, more and maybe 1 1/4. and one day, 6-inchs at bwi and nearly 6 at the city and record

911 caller reported that a mental case was breaking up property. once the officers arrived, his mother says this was not the first time. baltimore born mario barrett reached stardom and now, mario is at the center of a police investigation. detectives say that inside the high-rise apartment he shares with his mother, a fight broke out between them 1:00 friday morning. >> officers responded and spoke to the victim, the mother of a marrow barrett. and she alleged they were involved in a physical altercation and the fact of the case bore that out. >> reporter: the officers report said he found a china closet torn to pieces and she said he shoved her in the chest while screaming to her.

she also revealed to the police he pushed her eight feet and caused her head to hit the wall. she fears for her life as a result of his actions. and his lawyer paints a different picture. he says it's an unfortunate struggle between a son and a mother who struggles with a drug addiction. and mario remains committed to supporting his mother. and he was released from jail earlier today on a $50,000 bond. we're live in baltimore. mario will face a judge in november and and roundable county -- anne arundel county police are investigating a suspicious death. the officers found a man dead

on the road. investigators say he was suffering from injuries to his upper body. anyone with information is asked to call the police. here's the number to call. a warehouse was consumed by flames and we're over the seen. what can you tell us now. yeah, the officers were called for a heavy fire in an old distillery. it's been abandoned. one of the buildings caught fire. and on the 4th and 5th floor,the firefighters saw the flames coming from the floor and they had a collapse and called a second alarm and more firefighters arrived and as we arrived, the fire burned through the roof, nearly 100 feet high and the flames and smoke drifted in a southerly direction over dundalk, baltimore county.

shortly after that, the entire building, made out of brick collapsed in on itself and fortunately, the firefighters were far enough away, no one was injured and now, the firefighters are working along the roadside over near the bar and connelly funeral home. there's one remaining wall. you can see, at least the 5th story burning heavily. they're concerned this could come down. they've expanded their collapse zone and moved it away. there's one residence between the area there and they're concerned that could suffer dam should this last remaining wall collapse. the firefighters are holding with the equipment they're showing on seep and there are no injuries. thank you, mike perry. the new state law prohibiting the laws of hand held cell phones is taking

and parts of philadelphia are under water after close to a foot of rain. cars are submerged in places and the rushing water pushed these two dumpsters down the street. in nearby pennsylvania, many homes and stores are flooded. firefighters had to use a ladder to rescue people. and what's left of the tropical storm is moving up the east coast for two days bringing the rains and winds up to 60 miles per hour. broken trees and power lines left tens of thousands without electricity. this school sent the children home after the basement flooded. >> reporter: most of the new york area saw five inches of rain in a couple of hours. and the drivers hope the commute home will be easier. the flooded underpasses forced authorities to reroute traffic. the weather caused training delays and cancellations.
