blazing inferno. a tremendous fires tearing through a building in baltimore. tonight the incredible video and questions whether it was deliberately set. hello everyone i'm vic carter here is what people are talking about tonight. an amazing scene in west baltimore when an old planet goes up in flames. kelly mcpherson explains there was serious concern that the building could crumble on surrounding buildings. >> reporter: all that remains is what's behind me, the facade and elevator shaft. authorities are concerned it will collapse. >> there's a large amount of black smoke touring out of the

building. that's when i parked here and that's when the top of the building erupted. >> they had floors three, four and five, it's unusual to have a fire suddenly be that big. >> reporter: watch the fire from the distillery as it tumbled. only one side survived. the building's owner will tear the rest of the it down. >> mr. and mrs. brown were celebrating their celebration. >> are you going to serve food? >> we were ready to serve, just as we were getting ready to get everything set up, they shut the electricity down. >> reporter: the fast moving fire was fueled by 100-year-old

wood interior and barrels of the old seagrams distillery. arson could very well be the cause. >> to have that many floors on fire, it's suspicious. >> reporter: many watched the landmark fall. >> on a nice cool night, you could smell the whisky and it was a very pleasant smell. >> reporter: when the demolition crew arrives here to knock down that last wall, they can turn off the power to residents and property in this area. but we do not know when that power will be put out. baltimore county, kelly mcpherson. >> kelly, thank you. no one was injured in this fire. a dramatic rescue as two

people are trapped on a sinking boat. chopper13 noticed the boat sitting still. the coast guard said they got a call at about 2:00 this afternoon when they hit something and they started taking on water. tropical storm nicole has brought us rain, flooding and a brief tornado. a weak f0 tornado did in fact, hit anne arundel county and the area just north of gibson county. the rain caused some flooding, and check out the sink hole. that hole broke open on beller road. bob will have more on the record rainfall on the forewarn forecast. the children who lived through it it's an experience they will likely never forget. tonight they're sharing their story. this is how we last saw the

recovering. >> they're thankful that it wasn't worse. they are concerned about their mom. she's not home right now and they're worried about her. >> reporter: witnesses say they saw the driver slumped over the wheel just before the crash. police still are investigating. pop star in baltimore native mario is facing assault charges tonight. police arrested mario barrett in his mother's apartment in phelps point early this morning. shantia hardaway claimed her son pushed her on to a wall and she feared for her life. mario is free on bond tonight. a young life taken to soon. yardley love was just weeks away from graduating. tonight her friends and family are making sure her memory lives on. weijia jiang explains how tonight's o's game helped spread the message of one love,

the west. haguerstown only about .08. essentially no rain at the beach at all. clear sky, 55 here, 58 packs river, 43 a cold night in oakland. it'll be in the 30s there tonight. 55 up in cumberland. right now zero winds most places. light winds and clear skies, we're going to get cool temps. the rain is gone but here's our next weather maker. it's a little air of low pressure that's coming out of canada. developing a little bit of rain with it. not a lot of rain but some rain. that's going to head across the ohio valley. if you're going to pittsburgh on sunday, temperatures in the low 50s and a chance of a few showers. that little low is going to head down to west virginia eventually it's going to get stick off the coast for a couple of days.

my dad is the supervisor of a train station and my mom's a teacher. my dad's an auto technician. my mom's a receptionist. i'm not sure i would have been able to afford college without the tuition freeze. while tuition in other states is rising out of reach... governor o'malley made the tough choice to freeze tuition. he made my dream of going to college into a reality. i'm the first in my family to go to college. my brother and i never would have been able to afford college. even though times were tough... governor o'malley kept his promise. there's never a doubt... there's never a doubt whose side he's on. martin o'malley... moving maryland forward.
