>> reporter: it puts the charges of campaign finance irregularities behind city councilwoman helen holton. she face as fine and is placed on probation. helen holton came to court knowing prosecutors and her lawyers had reached a deal, dropping the charges in exchange for a know low contend dray charge. she does not dispute the charges. she will, howeverrings have to pay a $2500. >> it's over. today ends this case. i will continue to serve on the county council and serve the community to the best of my ability to help make baltimore city a healthier and more prosperous city. >> reporter: her soliciting of over $12,000 was at issue. their contribution exceeded the $4,000 limit, prompting the

death of it a basketball player. >> reporter: the basketball season is on hold for harford community college so teammates can mourn the death of devonte bundley. a coach called 911 while a security guard gave bundley cpr and used a defibrillator. he was rushed to the hospital where he died. devonte bundley is a 2010 graduate of harford high school where he played basketball, wrestled and ran. >> funeral arrangements are being made. the phone at the center is disconnected but they still plan to host their annual thanksgiving dinner. cynthia brooks said she will be able to provide dinner for 50,000. brooks took over the shelter

the search for the missing balloonist near italy is over. the two disappeared last week over the adriatic sea. the veteran pilots lost radio contact last wednesday. their less message was going down quite fast towards the sea. they believe the two plunged towards the water at 50 miles an hour and likely did not survive. a double tragedy in texas. twin 9-year-old girls are dead.

it's spiraling around our area as two storms merged into one over maryland overnight. the storms have cut themselves off. they will stick around for awhile. with them sticking around the winds are up over the north. they will turn around to the northwest tomorrow. that will bring slightly drier air. the clouds will mix with sunshine, so we expect a few showers on and off during the day. the other big thing, temperatures, what a hit we have taken. 53 degrees is where we stay in baltimore. 56 in d.c. take a look at all the 50s and 40s in the afternoon out in the mountains. now that's pretty much our high on the day, 54 degrees, way below the average of 72. we've only dropped to 50 degrees. so yes, the chilly air is in place. that will start to ease a bit. with the storm it will remain cool. here's how this looks. it's not that large of a storm but it's right on top of us. you can see it spiraling around. with the detached from the jet

this afternoon, a town in north carolina is struggling to recover from tropical storm nicole. in windsor nearly 40 residents were evacuated. other properties are expected to remain under water for several days. the governor is urging anyone to rebuild to elevate their homes. an argument between college dpoarm mates led to a murder. it happened in the ox dorm at the mid-atlantic christian university campus. one shot and killed the other, the suspect is in custody. nearly half of the student population lived in the dorm and will receive councilling.

a renewed effort in the search for kyron hormon. yes ca has more -- jessica has more. >> they scoured the woodings and water over the weekend. crews are even using atv's and k9s. authorities said no new information led them to the search. it was simply a follow-up. the search comes one day after his mom publicly increased the reward fund but authorities said that had nothing to do with the renewed search. >> there hasn't been this much activity on the island since he des appeared four months ago. this is the latest of many petro chemical fires. at least 20 fire trucks were on the scene for 17 hours. no one was hurt but the fire caused tens of millions of dollars in damages. a 12-year-old in wisconsin

generally about a half an inch. that more solid batch has moved to the north but there's not going to be a whole lot of change going on. one thing we will see, clouds breaking up occasionally with the storm s even a few breaks right in here. that will mix with the clouds a lot of times. we will see some of the sunshine but still a lot of clouds. the other thing, too the cool air will stick around because of these winds. they're edging around to the northwest. they're keeping the cool air in place. it's only 53 degrees. that is close to our high on the day. 50 for most of us except 40s in the mountains. topping out at 54 degrees that is nearly 20 degrees below average. yes. it's cool outside. we're heading into fall. it's not usually this cool. usually in the 70s. here's the situation. with two different parts of two different storms it merged into one. at this point they're going to
