their home. >> reporter: claiming one family member was in on it. >> reporter: hello, everybody, i'm denise koch, a 16-year-old maryland girl is behind bars tonight accused of plotting with her boyfriend to kill 5 members of her family. it happened in dorchester county. kelly mcpherson spoke with the girl's family. >> i spoke with the girl's father and sister. they didn't want her to date this boy because they thought he was a bad influence. they certainly did not expect to be gunned down in their own home home. >> it seems that we have some difficulty with the story. let me explain to you what happened. police say in dorchester county that the two 16-year-olds used

albert snyder. >> we thank you for your patience. as we explained at the top of the show a 16-year-old girl was charged with plotting to kill her family. >> i heard the shots and when i jumped up and looked out the window. >> reporter: markmarkings remain on the family car. police say 16-year-old william collins aimed the gun -- fired the gun aiming for his girlfriend's family. his 16-year-old girlfriend is also charged. police say she helped device the plan to kill the family so they could be together. her father tells me i'm standing by her, the whole family, all five people that were there that night are standing by her. >> reporter: her father tells me after the shooting he got a

gun. so if kaitlyn really wanted the family dead she could have used that weapon but she didn't. >> they pretty much ruined their entire life because of this. >> reporter: they exchanged text messages to set up the murder but it didn't go as planned. in fact, kaitlyn was in the living room during the shooting. >> i can't understand why two 16-year-olds would want to do this to anybody, much less people that they know. >> reporter: the girl's family said they have not been able to see the teen but they are very anxious to speak to her. >> all right, thank you, kelly. and once again one family member was injured by fragments but no one else was hurt. flames shooting straight out of the ground. over at stanford boulevard where a break in the gas line ignited this fire.

i'm frank kratovil and i approve this message. the real andy harris. buried in his website - a promise to replace the tax code with a 23% sales tax and eliminate the mortgage interest deduction. a bush tax panel said families would pay $6,000 more a year. a reagan tax advisor calls it a very dumb idea. but that's not his only bad idea. harris was the only senator to vote against expanding the child care tax credit and against the state's cancer treatment program. andy harris' extreme ideas will cost us.

it is 54 degrees and cloudy in central marry lands night now. the forecast is coming up. another unexpected weather event in arizona. forecasters confirm a total of 4 touched down. dozens of homes were damaged. so far no serious injuries or deaths have been reported. an oregon woman add mists she murdered a woman to try and steal her unborn baby. pleaded guilty to beating 21- year-old heather to death last june. what she did next is beyond comprehension. she used a razor to cut the baby from the womb. the two met on craigslist.
