the jury in the ken harris case reached a verdict. wjz-13 is live outside. mike hellgren has more and the three men charged. >> reporter: well, good afternoon. the deliberations lasted more than a week and the jury was dead looked before this morning. and the jury found jerome williams guilty and charles mcgainny guilty on all counts, however, the defendant, gary colins was found not guilty of the murder, he was found guilty

of several assault and handgun charges related to the robbery at the lounge. ken harris was killed in september of 2008 when he went to borrow a corkscrew and there was a robbery in progress. prosecutors relied on the dna evidence. and they have surveillance video that put the defendants at the scene and in the end, two guilty verdicts and one not guilty and harris' widow and the owner of the haven expressed confidence that justice would be served all along. harris is a father of two and he served on the baltimore city council before running for city council president. we saw patricia jessamy on the case. and we're gathering the

of him because he never cooperated with the police investigation. and the police don't have a motive for the murder. and we're learning many more about the biggest drug bust in the baltimore history. there are several under arrest after the police raided a marijuana growing operation. the three in custody are all related and the police officers found 300 pounds of processed marijuana. 95,000 jobs have vanished. that's according to a new report and as alexis christoforous reports for wjz- 13, that report could have a big effect on the upcoming elections. >> reporter: 95,000 jobs disappeared last month and the jobless rate is stuck at # .6%. >> what kind of positions do you have. >> reporter: she's looking for

work and she never expected to be here. >> i did all of the right thick, i -- things, i have a degree and here i am. >> reporter: her last job was four years ago and since then, work is harder to find. >> more desperation. more depression. regrettably, almost seeing people being disspoon didn't. >> reporter: and both sides know that the economy is important. and an even boarder measure is the underemployment rate. that imclouds part time workers and those who have given up working. that rate jumped to 17% and that's an increase of 600,000 workers. >> here on wjz, unemployment is a giant concern. when people aren't, wog, they're not spending.

i'm frank kratovil and i approve this message. the real andy harris. his past attacks have been called deceptive, his new attack, false. harris voted for deregulation increasing our electric bills by 72% it's not surprising, harris always sides with the big guys. he opposes cracking down on wall street and supports tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. harris even opposed making big insurance cover cancer screenings. andy harris' extreme ideas will cost us.

christmas could be days away for 33 miners trapped in chile, once the drill breaks through, it could take ten days to get all of the miners. it was said that it wouldn't be finished until december. and it's good news for environmental experts. the danube is absorbing the slung with little harm. this comes as the initial estimates are advised about the spill. 150 to 180 million-gallons of the stuff washed over the towns when a dam broke into the plant on monday.

this is a weekend where anything you want to do outside, your dogs, children, your family, anything you want to do, the weather will cooperate and the average this day, the normal high is 70 degrees and we're still going up and we're going up to around 80 and we have 39% humidity and a west wind at -- and 69 in pax river and ocean city and we have 71 at bwi and d.c.. and we're looking at a nice pattern with temperatures coming from the south west and well above the normal temperatures. we'll be going above the 70- degree average. and cooler air well to the north and the high pressure in control staying throughout the weekend. not until the beginning of next week, we're talking about tuesday before we see the next chance of showers.

in today's health watch report. arthritis is on the rise. 22% of all adults in the country suffer from the painful joint condition. the cdc says it's because of the aging of the population and high rates of obesity are also involved. and it turns out, there's truth to the saying, men sweat and women glow. researchers studied people as they exercised and found that women have to work harder than men in order to start sweating. and the researchers point out that women should take extra
