live at 5:00. and one week after a crash takes the life of a teen, the parents learn more details about the crash. the car collided with an off duty police officer. it was at patapsco in brooklyn. and wjz speaks to the teen's family in a live report newality 5:00 and 6:00. the 33 trapped chilean miners may soon be free. they may be aboveground in a couple of days. >> reporter: chilean rescue workers finished installing the last of 15 steel tubes designed to reenforce the top of the shaft and the next step is building a platform above the shaft. and officials say they'll hope to start the actual rescue as early as wednesday.

we, it's hard to believe, we're in the middle of october and temperatures are in the 80s areawide and we're not approaching the record of 89, we're at 84 and we could squeak another degree out on this day. we're still getting some warm air out of the flow we have here. a 33% relative humidity from 8 miles per hour and if you look to the north of baltimore, we have showers across pennsylvania and we can't rule out that some of those may roll on through maryland. we have a slight chance for showers and a chance tomorrow. and we'll talk about that and how it plays into the rest of the week ahead. a bit of a temperature change coming up. and that's too bad. >> well, here's kristy breslin with the roads. >> hi, mary, hi, everyone. not the typical start to a monday afternoon. you're looking at a 30 minute delay.

we were over the 9700 block of harford road and a water main break caused a sinkhole. this is north of joppa road and both northbound lanes in harford road are closed there. excessive levels of vitamin d. that's the reason for a recall of a dry dog food. >> well, the blue buffalo company is recalling select packages. er they may contain elevated levels of vitamin d. the company is receiving 36 reports of incidents where the dogs showed symptoms. all symptoms subsided after the food was discontinued and no long term health problems have been seen. >> for more information, go to

and enjoy the day today. it's going to change here over the next few days. 84 degrees here and 52 is the dew point and still pretty low humidity. relative humidity at 33%. we were discussing that this 84- degree day couldn't feel too warm. the dew point doesn't make it feel like the same summertime heat. we have a west wind. the barometer's steady and expect it to fall pretty soon and we have low pressure moving into the area. and 72 in oakland and 82 in cumberland and 76 on the shore and 76 in pax river and come on down the 95 corridor, 80 in elkton and 87 in the suburbs where the wind's coming from the west and pg as well and northwest wind in cumberland at 10 miles per hour. and we have a bit of a double

digit wind and it's delightful. we had clouds rolling through and we have sunshine out there as the satellite and radar shoes. opening it up, we have a bit of a disturbance moving in our direction and we have a front draped across the northern pennsylvania area and that has allowed for ripples of disturbance and energy across the state. it's this energy we're looking at. some of this could make its way from the mountains and the west and over the state line. we can see it triggering showers and some thundershowers as we head into the overnight hours. and the front will sink to the south of us. and as it does, it will linger and we'll get a chance of rain tomorrow and a chance of showers throughout the evening and warmer air gets pushed away and our temperatures will take a hit. and we could be in the upper 50s thursday and friday and we'll start to clear out into the weekend.
