are undecided and with the 5% margin of error, the race is a statistical dead heat. >> i happen to believe if question a failed, it's highly unlikely slots will be in anne arundel county. >> reporter: the race for governor has widened. >> and there are many examples of polls saying that one candidate's up and a week later, they don't succeed. >> governor ehrlich refused to believe the results. are you serious? -- well, two days ago, gonzales had five, well, that's a good pollster. i haven't heard that one. >> the sun's polls were conducted by opinion works. and former governor bob

killed on a day of celebration for him. weijia jiang has more on the funeral of brian stephenson. >> reporter: good afternoon, don and everyone. detective stevenson was killed a few hours before his birthday and you can see a packed parking lot and nearly a thousand people are gathered to celebrate his life. >> reporter: whether they knew him or not, whether they were friends or colleagues. hundreds of members of the police force came together to pay their respects to the veteran. he was killed last weekend and he leaves behind a wife and four children. >> a wonderful person. he always helped other people. it's a tragedy, if you trust in god, he'll turn this into triumph. >> reporter: he's a retired city officer who worked with stephenson, one of the many who

came to this new church for his funeral. he was killed last weekend over what the investigators describe as a fight. >> it's difficult. you can't escape, you know -- you know, you're leading the place and you can't escape the personal grief of it. so, i'll manage that as best i'm able. >> reporter: bealefeld says it's a day of grieving for the deaths of two others killed in the past month also. bealefeld admits that the police family is hurting. >> they'll keep handling the calls and keep making the city safe. that's what jimmy would have wanted and that's what brian and tommy would have done. they would have gotten back on their feet and they would have done their jobs. >> reporter: and tomorrow, it's a tremendous day for baltimore. the flag from the world trade

center is coming to commemorate all three and it will be presented at the funeral of the officer of tommy ports wednesday. and for now, we're live in randallstown. >> and stephenson will be laid to rest in arbutus. the police are looking for a lead in the killing in east baltimore. three men were shot. and all three are expected to survive. the police haven't identified the suspect or the motive. more than nine years after her disappearance, the murder trial is underway for chandra levy. her body was found in 2001. an illegal immigrant is charged with her murder. her disappearance made national head lines when she was linked
