everyone knows a fee is a tax. you raised some taxes during that period, particularly the property tax as well as a lot of fee increases. as you know, there's a big difference between fees and taxes. but...they're the same. it's a tax. it's a tax. it's a tax. it's a tax. fees you have to define, because they have nothing to do with taxes. fees and taxes are one in the same. if it comes out of my pocket, it's a tax. now he says it isn't true. they have nothing to do with taxes. what? still doing the same thing, paying out more money. typical politician. definitely.

down to the wire in one day. vetters head to -- voters head to the polls to decide maryland's governor. >> how the leading candidates are using these final hours hours to sway voters. >> hello, again. i'm don scott. and i'm jessica kartalija. >> here's what people are talking about today, with less than 24 hours until the polls open today. they are making their final pitch to voters. wjz is making your coverage. adam may is following the o'malley bid for re-election. good afternoon, adam. >> good afternoon, don. he has been crisscrossing baltimore since 6:30 this morning. in a few minutes, he'll come here at fells point. he'll have lunch at a popular restaurant, arcos. when he walks in, you see numerous pictures of politicians who have visited there. and governor o'malley in the final hours is trying to reach

out to latino vote voters. governor martin o'malley, making the most of this final day of the campaign, making the most out of east baltimore. in this final push, o'malley is hosting most of its effort in baltimore city. >> it's great to be back in the city of baltimore. and there's a lot of excitement throughout the city. >> reporter: the city has 288,000 registered democrats. almost 10 times the number of republicans. >> we're trying to contact as many people as we can, reminding everybody that tuesday is election day. it's up to the people of maryland right now, whether we move forward or whether we slip back. >> reporter: and one way the democrats are trying to energize voters is with a lot of new campaign signs we've seen going up in the last few weeks, with president obama's name on it. they say vote for democrats and obama, we've got your back. basically, what the democrats are trying to do is tie this election to president obama and his policies because president

taxing and spending. entire and be sure to stay with wjz for extensive coverage of campaign 2010. tomorrow night, you can count on wjz to bring you the latest election results, plus live coverage of the candidates. an overnight car crash in south baltimore leaves two people dead. police say a stolen lincoln town car was feeding through federal hill on ostend street when it was t-boned. two men were killed. a woman inside it is in critical condition. the driver and passenger took off, but police say they were later arrested. a critical crash kills two people and wounds two others. neighbors say it appears each of the people shot was a teenager and perhaps wearing the halloween costume. right now, investigators won't say if they have a motive or suspect in the shooting. u.s. investigators are headed to yemen to help ensure air cargo leaving that country is safe. authorities believe al qaeda in yemen planted the bombs that

flew last week. charlie d'agata reports for wjz with the latest. >> reporter: u.s. intelligence officials say clues found in these cargo bombs point to this saudi bomb maker. ibrahim is the suspected al qaeda mind behind the massacre attempt on christmas day. he is accused of planting a bomb inside his own brother. he is thought to be hiding out in yem own -- yemen. and u.s. investigators are heading there. >> al qaeda's affiliate in yemen is the most dangerous of al qaeda's branches or allies. >> reporter: the u.s. has now halted all shipments from yemen. britain and germany have suspended all flights. after discovering one of the bombs flew aboard two passenger planes before it was discovered. >> reporter: british officials are holding emergency planning meetings this week.

that's the kind of air mass that is on top of us. the winds are out of the northwest. not as much as they were yesterday. but they will continue to keep it cool air. freeze watch is in effect for a good portion of the area. because temperatures are likely to drop below freezing in all of these places. so this is what we're dealing with. the cold front that moved through yesterday. not much to it. just had some clouds and a breeze. that is out of here. next storm we'll be watching is going to come out of the rockies, then cut across the south, and make its way up the coast as a nor'easter later on this week. it comes together like this. this is what we have going on this morning. tropical storm winds up to 46 miles per hour. the storm has continued to fluctuate in intensity. but how -- notice how it takes this big turn. you can see in the forecast models, how it is sharp to the right and races off. that's because of that storm system that will become a
