back on dry land, the disabled carnival cruise ship arrived in california this morning. >> what's next for the thousands of stranded passengers. hello again i'm don scott. >> i'm jessica kartalija. the carnival splendor as finally reached california. you're taking a live look now at san diego. sandra hughes has the very latest. >> reporter: the nightmare carnival cruise is over. a team of tugboats gently guided into port. tugs have been slowly tugging it from the waters off mexico where it broke down on monday. for four days the crew has been without water, food and

everything that runs on electricity. passengers have been telling horror stories. >> people getting upset and frustrated by the toilet situation. couldn't flush, part of the smell issue. >> reporter: there were two our lines for food like spam and pop tarts, but passengers said they held together. >> by and large, people had been nice to one another. there was almost a comradery among the passengers. >> reporter: with no working elevators, carnival said getting all the passengers off the splendor could take hours. they promised to be ready for hotel and flight reservations for the passengers. >> we will be providing assistance. >> reporter: splendor was scheduled to tour the mexican river a for seven days. carnival has apologized and promised to reimburse.

>> a spsh person said it could take five or six hours for the passengers to disembark. two men robbed a business looking for the hottest video on market. this is the surveillance video showing the two threatening employees and customers at the game stop in bel air where they made off with 100 copies of the new "call of duty" game. mayor stephanie rawlings-blake wants to get guns off the streets. and that means cracking down on those who have them. >> reporter: the mare plans to lob bit general assembly for tougher gun laws. she wants to make possession of them a felony and proposing a minimum 18 months for those arrested. the maximum would be 10 years

the president commemorated veterans day in south korea. he spent the overnight speaking at a u.s. military base in seoul and saluted troops who fought in the war there and others around the world. he will next meet with leaders at the g20 summit in seoul. when the president returns, the commission is proposing a new cost-cutting plan to reduce the annual cost of living increases for social security resippy yets and -- recipients and gradually increasing the retirement age to 69. a debate in the issue of openly gay troops.
