robocall scandal. new developments into the investigation in calls discouraging voters from going to the polls. hello everybody i'm denise koch and here is what people are talking about tonight. members of the prosecutors team was seen from the hole of julius henson today. investigators are looking into calls that some believe urged

voters to stay away from the polls. tonight, mike hellgren investigates. >> reporter: office space was rented by henson and his company. there have been no charges, henson has denied any wrong doing. the state's prosecutors office has stuck with its policy about being secret about it's ongoing investigations. controversial political consultant julius henson wasn't home when wjz stopped by to get his side of the story. after staffers were seen carrying items from his house earlier in the day. that's the same office that brought down mayor dixon. all they would tell wjz, we don't confirm or deny what we may be doing. sources say they're looking into the possibility that violations may have been done.

>> i'm calling to let everyone know that governor o' malley and president obama have been successful. we're okay, relax, everything is fine. the only thing left is to watch it on tv tonight. >> reporter: henson did not shy away from my questions shortly after the scandal broke. >> should you be prosecuted? what the you know about a possible prosecution. >> prosecuted for what? the voter law is clear. it's in the statute. if you look at the statute and look at the wall, the wording of the call there's nothing in it that would suggest that. >> reporter: that habit stopped prominent lawmakers from calling for investigations. >> targeted to suppress or intimidate, that is against the law. so we're conducting an investigation into it. >> i'm on the bob ehrlich team, we thought a call like that would help and we made the call.

>> reporter: mr. ehrlich has not made a comment about the calls. >> attorney general hensler seeks fines. a man killed in a construction accident, wjz has learned this happened in fredrick county at the barreck quarry. investigators say a man somehow got caught near a rock crusher. we will bring you more information as soon as it's available. one snowstorm down, now the possibility of more to come. wjz photographers were out in north baltimore tonight where you can see there's still plenty of snow from yesterday sticking around. it's still so cold it didn't have a chance to melt. now there's another chance we

could get more this weekend. bob turk is updating the weather. >> this low pressure that we're around about, let's take a look at this graphic. there are many factors involved with a storm formation that affects our region. we've got plenty of cold air, we've got moisture developing over the ocean, the question remains exactly what path this storm will take. if it gets close enough to our region, we could see a little snow down to our south as early as 1:00 in the morning on sunday. if it gets to our region it'll probably be just during the early morning hours and even by afternoon, we might everyone be in the clear. there's still a lot of factors involved with this storm. it can change. i'll explain what we expect to have happen in our region coming up for the full forecast in just a few minutes. >> thank you very much bob. we are learning more tonight about the man accused of slipping into a baltimore county middle school and trying to sexually assault a student in the bathroom. as susan collins reports, the suspect told police he picked

out the victim based on his looks. >> reporter: this is sean slate, 21, the man police say admitted sneaking into a school yesterday in hopes of having sex with a child. the details of the plot are revealed today in these court papers and they would terrify any parent or child. the man was first seen by police officers at 7:30 outside the school. they thought he was a student. inside he told a teacher he was there to see a little brother. instead, he hung out in the bathroom for more than an hour until he found his prey. >> he was looking for a small blond haired boy. >> reporter: parents are frantic about how anyone with evil intents could easily get

in endangering their children. >> you know i think we need it to be more secure for the kids. because my son is right there, so i don't know what can i say, because i'm in shock right now. >> reporter: new rules are in place today. more questions will be asked of people at the door and any stranger seen inside will be escorted to the office. >> one of the issues i've noticed, their office is all the way down at the end down here. you have to go through these doors and go basically all the way down to the hall to get to the main office. >> reporter: he used to live in dundock and police believe recent ly he's been living there again. and the victim has a busted lip, he says he fought back thinking about his mother and

sister. and he says she's scared to go into a bathroom again. the barks animal shelter was selling baked goods when a man grabbed the donation box and ran off. police arrested the man and barks got their money back. well he's known as the grim sleeper. after los angeles police arrested the serial killer they found dozens of photographs of unknown women in his house. now police are hoping the public will help identify them. >> she is photo number 32. >> that's my daughter, i'm not lying to you. number 32. >> but this man who did not want to be identified says she is his missing daughter. >> she's been missing about two years. >> reporter: her imagine was found among the trobe of sexually explicit photos. >> have you told the cops this.

>> yeah, i called them earlier this morning. >> reporter: in less than 24 hours, after releasing the photos of 160 women, police say they may have some matches. >> we tentatively identified five of the individuals. we're waiting to verify those. >> reporter: they fear that some of these women may also be victims. >> i'll tell you this, that he is one of the most significant serial murders in the history of los angeles just based on the cases we're prosecuting him for. >> reporter: the local mechanic has already been charged for ten murders. detectives are working overtime, reviewing over 30 cold case trials. the suspect was labeled the grim sleeper after it appears

he took a 14 year hiatus in his killings. >> franklin was arrested after his thumb was swabbed. the sample came back as evidence in the serial killings. president obama got one of his christmas wishes today and it came from a bipartisan vote in the house. the president this afternoon signed the new tax bill into law. the house passed it just a few minutes before midnight. it maintains the bush era tax cuts but also extends benefits for the chronically unemployed. includes an equipment deduction for businesses. a train trip from washington to illinois turned into a nightmare after the train got stuck.

one of those trains got stuck on the tracks north of perryville. 400 passengers were stuck for hours, many complained of being very cold. amtrak says the heat was on and the passengers were cared for. whether you are traveling by plane, train or car a lot of you are going out there traveling over the next couple of days. if you are driving, there are obstacles you will face. kelly mcpherson explains, big back ups are expected again. kelly-- >> reporter: denise, aaa survey travelers for all major holidays, there's five of them. they are considering that this whole year may have seen an increase in travelers over 2009 which means more congestion. >> 1.8 million marylanders will get away for end of year holiday. traveling at least 50 miles from home. aaa expects a 4% increase over last year, only about 50,000 will fly. most will be driving. like this maryland dad who was visiting his daughter in

minnesota. >> it's a hassle and i don't have the cash for it. it's cheaper to drive. if i have to rent a car there, it costs just as much as the flight. >> i drove, alone with a baby and a dog because of my dog. i could have flew but i didn't want to spend christmas without him. >> reporter: if you're headed north, expect to see the same congestion once again near the delaware toll as construction continues. and drivers are paying more too with gas prices straddling $3 per gallon. >> despite the $3 highs, we don't anticipate travelers canceling their plans but changing they're travel plans. maybe staying with family. the majority of marylanders are staying close to home. >> we actually already did our holiday traveling, we went to hawaii. we did it a little early.

wind. that makes a huge difference. the barometer is pretty high. 31.6-inches right now. 19 in oakland. 30 comes in warmer cumbe rland but there's no wind. so you don't have to deal with the windchill. last week, a couple of those days that's when it really made it just so uncomfortable. the moisture down here in the southern plains heading toward the georgia coastal area, low pressure developing right around this savannah, georgia area. this is going to move to the east and eventually to the ocean. what has to happen for us to get good snow here or any kind of snow at all, they have to reform very strong. low pressure and have that moisture back over our region. at this point, it looks like the storm is going to be a little too far out to the east.

so what does that mean for us? let's take a look at this quick graphic. if we get any precipitation at all west, maybe it comes as rain. the snow, if they get it at all, extreme southern portions of virginia. ocean city might see a couple of inches of snow. for our region, looks like maybe a few snow flakes at this point. let's go back to my computer. let's show you what's going on. cold tonight but that low pressure, see how cold it gets then it moves off to the east. new england by monday might see some snow out of it. for us the sun will return. it will be breezy. even sunday we might clear out a little bit. the bay temp around 34, so tonight let's call it partly
