. baltimore,. >> from the city, to the counties, to your neighborhood, now it's complete coverage, it's wjz, maryland's news station. >> gadhafi bombed, one of his family homes hit, he escapes injury but four relatives are dead. good evening. thank you for joining us. i'm adam may. we start with this story, gadhafi's three grandchildren and youngest son are dead after a nato air strike. we have the latest. >> reporter: fireworks lit up the fight sky in the city as libya celebrated the death of gadhafi's youngest son. the spokesman said the 29-year- old was killed by a nato air

strike and gadhafi survived. >> the leader himself is in good health. he wasn't hurt. his wife also is in good health. >> reporter: three of his grandchildren were also reportedly killed. nato said its missions aimed at command centers and do not target gadhafi. the leader appeared on libya state tv earlier on saturday calling for a cease fire and negotiations but refused to step down. rebel commanders rejected officer saying the time for compromise has passed. gadhafi's 6th son studied in germany. >> so far tonight nato hasn't confirmed the air strike. here we are following breaking news out of hartford where tonight one an employee died at an explosion in the

edgewood area. no other workers were hurt and a spokesman said it's isolated, there is no threat to the community. we are still working to get details. also tonight the national weather service confirms four tornadoes touched down earlier this week. one was caught on tape near andrew's air force base. another hit carroll and we have pictures. weather officials confirmed twisters in northwest eastern baltimore and saint mary's. at least 340 are confirmed dead from the tornado outbreak to the south and tonight volunteers aggressively working to try to help the survivors. the death toll is rises where hundreds are still missing. >> we are up to five teams searching the city, going through the rubble looking for those that are missing. >> reporter: it's a grim task

storing them in refridge ated trucks. >> we are very faith focused and that means a lot. >> reporter: survivors are clinging to their faith which for many is all they have left. the secretaries of agriculture, housing and homeland security will be visiting alabama and mississippi. a man killed by an explosion in his home forcing his neighbors to evacuate over concerns of another bomb. we are live on this story. we explain the strange series of events. >> reporter: now we learn tonight that the person who died, the victim may have had money and health troubles that led to the explosion. this is a hole blown through the home of the townhouse. neighbors tried to look through after not seeing him since wednesday.

>> we noticed no movement in the house and didn't see him. i went over and got the neighbor next door to him and that is when it was all found. >> reporter: finally they moved aside a blind and saw the 44- year-old injured and apparently dead inside. >> there were actually pieces of what appeared to be metal pipe that were taken out of the homes in the wall and also out of -- from the autopsy today found in the individual's body. >> reporter: police fear more bombs, 25 were evacuated while the bomb squad checked but nothing. neighbors then recalled they heard an explosion a few days before. >> it was wednesday night and it was just like a huge bang and we thought it was a -- the storms were happening we just thought something blew over. >> reporter: neighbors say he had experience in the military and wonder if he knew about bomb making. he also had worked in manufacturing but he lost his job when he had a stroke a few

years ago. court records say he was on a fixed income and his house was up for sale. >> he was recovering, having a lot of difficulties. >> reporter: and the autopsy out laid today shows the cause of death was trauma from the explosion. back to you. >> all right. thank you. tonight the medical examiner believes his death was an accident or suicide. right now police are investigating a wild carjacking. take a look, you can see the tire marks and damage from where the car finally crashed. the detectives say a man was drag add long richie highway. he was trying to stop two teens from stealing his car at a gas station. he eventually grabbed onto the steering wheel crashing the car. police are still looking for the teens tonight. a 5-year-old found next to a dead body inside a home in
