a sudden change in the case against dominique strauss-kahn. why attorneys are now doubting his accuser's story. hello again, i'm don scott. and i'm jessica kartalija. here's what people are talk about today. sexual assault case against dominique strauss-kahn is crumbling. we're in lower manhattan where dominique strauss-kahn faced the judge. >> reporter: dominique strauss- kahn headed to court to learn whether a new york judge will free him from house arrest. the sexual assault case is reportedly falling apart. prosecutors are raising questions about the credibility of the made. law enforcement officials told

the new york times that they believe she lied about her background and what she did around the time of the assault. she talked to a man in prison about the benefits of charging dominique strauss-kahn. prosecutors are also curious about activity in her bank account. >> reporter: after posting $6 million in bond and paying for his own armed guards -- there's a bail decision being reviewed. it's rare to see the prosecution questioning the witness. >> it suggests there are serious problems here and the prosecution is backing away at this point. >> reporter: the arrest for dominique strauss-kahn to redesign, and this derailed his likely run for the french presidency. with the case in doubt, there's talks he may be a candidate again. and just seconds ago, he

walked out of the courthouse released. however, he's still not allowed to leave the country. a man accused of flying with fake boarding passes in in court today. he's accused of sneaking on to a very -- virgin american flight without a boarding pass or id. the security measures are being re-examined. he could face five years in prison. the funeral is underway for michael brooks. he's the 15-year-old teen accidentally shot and killed by a teen at a sleepover. mike hellgren has more on the somber service. mike? >> reporter: good afternoon, jessica and everyone. there were many friends and family members, quite a few tears shed. the pastor told them not to place blame, remember he's at

peace. his loved ones paid their last respects to him. he was 15. his 11-year-old friend accidentally shot him in the head last saturday at a sleepover after gaining access to one of 22 weapons stored in a bedroom in cherry hill. >> you can't blame anyone, it's over, you have to move on. >> reporter: his family's struggling to come to terms with his death. the police won't file charges against the 11-year-old shooter and they haven't ruled them out against the owner. he said he kept the guns locked up and has no idea how the children got ahold of them. >> there was no negligence involved. i would change places with him if i could. >> reporter: he loved football. the pallbearers wore raven's jerseys.

to $60 million. there will be no shakeup at the top of baltimore city school's, dr. andres alonso has signed a new contract to stay on as the school's ceo. ronald reagan has -- ron matz has more on the deal. >> reporter: the school system is in the grips of another cheating scandal. he signed a four year extension with a salary of $260,000 a year. this comes after it was announced that two city elementary schools were caught cheating on state assessment tests. to make the matters worse, the student test scores at eight other schools dropped and there's speculation they may have also meated. a-- -- also cheated. >> he could be the longest

>> reporter: happy new month to you all. there's a big dome of high pressure giving it this bermuda high. it's slipping from the northwest and out of the south east. where's the air coming from. it's wrapping around the high. that will expand the heat in the south. that's up towards the 95 corridor. as a matter of fact, the graphic says blazing hot saturday. we're going to take the temperatures into the low 90s, but let's throw the heat index down. we'll get a buildup of humidity with the heat. we're up the 95 corridor looking at maryland. we're getting back to it. to be honest about the deal, it's the refugee weekend -- 4th of july weekend. if you want a weekend to feel like summer, it's this one. we're getting the wish. tim williams has the details
