convince them there is not enough evidence to convict her of murder. >> the reason you don't have that evidence is because it's an unpluvable case. >> they tried to discredit the state's charge that she suffocated her daughter caylee anthony with chloroform and duct tape. then they pointed the finger at casey anthony father, saying he covered up a accidental drowning. the -- >> i don't think anybody can justify her actions. but they do not cobsitute murder. >> reporter: many of the jury appeared tired as the day wore on. they have been sequestered for six weeks and are expected to begin deliberating on monday. but first the prosecution will

have their final word. prosecutors detailed how casey anthony spent the month after her disappearance supply parling with her boyfriend. >> we can hope the chloroform was applied first. >> the prosecution claims she killed her daughter because she didn't want to be a mom. soon the jury will decide. in florida, karen brown, wjz eyewitness news. >> if she is convicted she will spend the rest of her life in prison or she could get the death penality. deadly storms today. the storms snapped trees and knocked out power in the arlington area and a bicyclist died after a tree fell on top of him. police shut down the park on the national mall, luckily the weather has quiet it down

today. the forecast coming up in a few moments. >> no power, no air conditions conditions and no water. 3500 customers kill don't have power right now. that includes people that high rise. they have people there who are oxygen, people in wheelchairs. they are working to restore the power right now and reynolds county was hit very hard from power outages. and the storms are blamed for a fire that damaged a church. it broke out at the marvin chapel methodist church. investigators think that lightening sparked the fire. no one was inside the church but one firefighter was taken to the hospital with a shoulder injury. we are learning new

information about a fire. firefighters say one is in critical condition after a fire tore through this home yesterday, another person died in the flames. investors are not sure of the cause as of tonight. don't be surprised if you see police when you hit the roads tomorrow. derek valcourt explains the extra patrols are part of a crack down. >> maryland's smooth operator campaign. police will have extra hands on deck this week as they target the aggressive drivers. >> cutting you off. just in and out. >> tailgating. >> weaving in and out of traffic. >> shifting lanes quickly and not installing. >> reporter: that's why police

. it's 72 degrees and partly cloudy in maryland right now. we will have the forecast coming up in a moment. first a biker dies after he crashes his motorcycle during a ride to protest helmet laws. the man was riding in a run when he flipped over and hit his head on the ground. heed with have survived if he was wearing a helmet. boy is facing murder charges after shooting his brother in the head. the boy was home alone with his six-year-old brother. investigators thought the shooting was an accident but now not so sure. >> they got long just fine. all normal. nothing out of the ordinary. >> i was crushed. i cried all night. the kids didn't know what was

going on. it's hard. >> that boy is the youngest person to be charged with murder in more than 90 years in indiana. dominique strauss-kahn could be closer to clearing his name. the maid called her boyfriend after the attack. while on the phone she mentioned the fact that dominique strauss-kahn was rich and she knew what she was doing. the judge released dominique strauss-kahn from house arrest last week. a two-year-old in china is very lucky to be alive after falling from a 10 story window, dropping 100 feet to the ground below. but seconds before she hit the ground a woman was walking by on the squawk, rushed over and caught the toddler. the girl is doing just fine tonight. the mayor of a city gives

one stubborn sheriff a piece of her mind. she punches the sheriff in the face after he tried to -- for 200 families. the mayor could face misconduct charges and lose her job over the incident. thousands of residents get the green light to head home in new mexico. 12,000 people finally rolled into los alamos for the first time since the wildfire passed through last week. firefighters are still trying to contain the blaze that scorched 200 square miles in new mexico. now that summer is in full swing it is the time when mosquitoes love to bite. tim williams shows us the steps to control those bugs. >> reporter: if these bites look familiar it's for a good reason, the mosquito season is underway and it doesn't take long for a problem to develop. >> this time of year when it's

>> yes, unfortunately. you don't want to mess around with thunderstorms. >> even severe thunderstorms. >> even severe thunderstorm. now, what we are talking about now is we lost the warnings. it so much nicer out there and we have a couple of shows. before we zoom in, there were a few thunderstorms starting to die down in pennsylvania but they are drifting southwards. this is where the worst of it pushed and it will continue moving southward. after a morning round of thunderstorms. here is the afternoon round and continued into the evening. damaging winds and hail with the storms. another thing too, the temperatures. they got up there today. as soon as the storms moved in so did the dew points and

humidity. we dropped down to 72. after topping out at 93 degrees. the average is 86 and we were above that, well above it. so now that we lost the watches and warnings, focusing on tomorrow. air quality effects go in. the front that moved it in install out over the area and will stick around till tuesday. with the front stalled off to the south of us, we will see a couple of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow and again on tuesday. these are not all-day rain events. still keep all of your plans but as we check in throughout the day there will be thunderstorms scattered about. look at all the heat over the country. even on the north side, which
