remember in recent memory a storm that came through so fast and hit so hard. and did so much damage over such a spotty area. from northwest baltimore to dundock the damage is visible. lansdowns looked like it was hit hard. what did you hear, what did you see? >> it was just a lot of rain, real windy, got pretty loud. next thing you know it was a whole bunch of commotion. >> reporter: it was the same scenario in dundock. there was lightning, torrential rain, and hail. >> we had to started out with small hail, then it went to half a penny then to about a

quarter. >> reporter: look at this tree, it's massive, we're not exactly certain what brought it down although lightning is suspected. what is clear, the storm system that rolled through baltimore was isolated yet it packed a punch. >> what happened to your home? >> it's just demolished, i don't know i went to bed and all of a sudden a big boom. i thought it was lightning but they say it might have been a tornado. the roof came flying over, my other son dug us all out. >> reporter: eyewitness news spoke to the batallion chief. we understand 20 to 30 people throughout the county not just this area are unable to live in their homes due to damage. that means here in lansdowne as well as dundock. we understand that the red cross is trying to help those displaced. we don't have any injuries or

reports of injuries right now, the bad news about all of this is there's a lot of damage that has to be repaired. i imagine it's going to be daybreak before people assess the damage. >> we understand that kai. first warning weather coverage continues with bob turk and the watches and warnings still in effect. >> tomorrow, all day long we have a flash flood watch in effect. we still have flood flash warnings in effect for the next 20 minutes for baltimore county. we saw some heavy rains earlier. a few reports as much as 3- inches of rain fell an hour, hour and a half. right now pretty good storms across northern sections of baltimore. from the northern parkway to cockysville. way out to the west another line of storms from just west of haguers town. from pikesville to townsend that's really seeing a heavy

cell right now. heavy downpours, minding in some parts. let's take a look at these advisories that will be going into effect tomorrow and what's currently in effect. we still have that flood warning for portions of eastern howard, northern reynolds and southwest baltimore city. and flood flash watch going into effect tomorrow. we could see more heavy rains tomorrow. we'll have a look at the complete forecast coming up tomorrow. breaking news in the casey anthony murder case. we just learned that casey anthony will remain in jail four more days. a judge sentenced her to four years for lying to investigators including time already served. late tonight authorities in florida recalculated that time requirement, she will now stay behind bars until july 17th incedes of being released next -- instead of being released next wednesday. in maryland, the case is

prompting a lawmaker to introduce a law that will make it a felony for parents who do not report their children missing after 24 hours. 16-year-old felicia barnes disappeared in late december. the case sparked a massive search that ended in april when her naked body was found. police investigators said it was a murder. police are using a child

pornography using e-mails linked to barnes and others. authorities asked to search four facebook accounts, six separate yahoo e-mail accounts, including two with felicia's name for evidence of crimes including sexual exploitation of children and distribution and possession of child pornography. affidavits related to the case remain seal but felicia barnes father and brother russell told wjz they had been aware of the search warrants for months and that the warrants were part of a thorough investigation to find out who killed felicia as her family waits for answers. >> it's a matter of what happened and when it happened. >> reporter: those search warrant applications were filed on may 10. no word yet from investigators if those e-mails or facebook accounts have provided any useful information. you can read more about this case on tomorrow morning's

edition of the baltimore sun. marylanders whether now get a chance to vote on whether undocumented immigrants should get instate tuition at maryland colleges. the state board of elections says the petition drive to get the measure on the 2012 ballot has succeeded. just over 63,000 new signatures were collected. that's 16,000 more than needed. the bill allows illegal immigrants to pay instate tuition rates if they go to community college first. goodbye to a baltimore football legend. john mackey has died after a tough battle with dementia. wjz spoke to his daughter and wife about his legend. >> he had his cowboy hat on, that was his signature item. >> reporter: her favorite memory johns refusal to accept his hall of fame ring in

it is 75 degrees and cloudy in central maryland right now. the complete weather warning is coming up. a man hunt has now turned into a hostage situation in grand rapids washington. dansler is thought to have killed six people. it's a british tabloids that lived offer of scandals of others and now the newspaper is done in by one of its own scandals. public outrage and pleaing advertisers led to the decision to stop publication.

that's lloyds of london, that's high risk. >> inner harbor had about an inch and a half of rain. some people are picking up 3- inches this evening alone. right now we had two cells. they just re issued the flash flood warnings across northern sections of baltimore city. these two cells continue to move to the north generally at about 15 miles per hour. so, if you're heading up 83 or 795 toward owins mill look out for some heavy heavy rain over the next 30 to 40 minutes as that continues to move in that general north to northeast direction. temperature wise, we're down to 75 but it's still very humid. 78%. no winds at all at the airport where we had those thunderstorms here. we got gusts up to 50 miles per hour. did cause some damage with trees down etc. now temperature wise, still 83 in washington. now a drop of rain near generally low to mid-70s.

upper 60s in oakland. and close to 80 in easton and baltimore city. low to mid-70s, the warm spot annapolis and once again dc where it stayed dry. they are still at 82 degrees. right now very light winds here but of course in any of those thunderstorms 20, 30, 45-mile an hour wind gusts. we're looking for a southerly wind overnight tonight. but that's when we think it will probably change. eventually we have a front that came here across pennsylvania. it's still moving just southward into the maryland region. we'll have very humid air to the south. that's what's helping cause these storms. another high pressure is going to come through the ohio valley tomorrow that will help to induce more thunderstorms tomorrow. could see some heavy down storms before it clears the region and sunshine and some what drier conditions into the weekend. looks like a pretty good warm weekend with a good deal of

there was magic in the air in london. the final harry potter had its world premier. the stars walked the red carpet and signed photographs. many of them camped out the entire week. the eighth potter movie brings the curtain down on a series which has grossed $6.5 billion. u.s. premier is july 15th. in florida a group of women got their wedding dresses courtesy of charmin. that's right these creations are made of toilet paper. the winner said it took four rolls, that's not a lot. and some hot glue. she went home plush with a thousand dollars cash prize.
