level of violence and of course of that brazen lies suspects are telling their victims. of the streets of baltimore city criminals are using a new weapon to attack. >> preys on the trusted victims. >> reporter: police say groups of men are impersonating officers to get inside homes across the city to rob them. their frightening trend started when houses in edner gardens were targeted. victims were beat up. >> that scares the, off of me. >> reporter: they handcuffed three residents then scoured for valuables. when one man broke free, a suspect shot him in the face. >> if they are and you don't do what they say, then you're in trouble. but if you do what they say and they're not, then you're in trouble. so it's like, what are you supposed to do. >> reporter: investigators say the suspects were even dressed
