her and her ex-boyfriend are fighting a 2009 conviction for killing maredith kircher. lawyers and experts say dna from the first trial should be thrown out. hoping the flawed evidence will persuade jurors. the jury has several options as they deliberate. they could keep knox in prison and reduce her sentence or lengthen it or decide to acquit her and set her free. knox's family says if she walks free they will take her back to seattle as quickly as they can. the guilty verdict should stand says others. after knox made her ten minute emotional plea, vans hauled her back to prison for ex-criewsh

excruciating wait. to a shooting investigation. police fired on a armed man that pointed her weapon at an officer. wjz is live. mike has the latest on the developing story. >> good afternoon, everybody. this happened around 9:00 last night. that man was taken to johns hopkins bay view and shot in the upper body and he died this morning. police tell wjz 13 someone inside this home on st. victor street in south baltimore called them saying he believed his life was in dang i, he was being threatened by a armed man. the man confronted them with his gun. >> officers entered the house, asking the individual to drop the weapon numerous times. he turned towards the officers with the weapon and one officer fired a defensive shot. >> reporter: one bullet hit

the man which is a 52 years old. >> the individual shot has no major contacts with police. >> reporter: the homicide unit is investigating. that's customary. more police at sh point have not identified the man who died or the officer involved. mike hellgren, wjz 13, eye witness news. it's unclear how many officers responded to the scene last night. one week after a tire business goes up in flames, police make an arrest. 35 year old jason hicks an employee is facing arson charges in the 3 alarm fire. the owner of an auto repair shop says hicks arrests doesn't surprise him. >> he is a troublemaker. i keep telling mr. washington the guy is a troublemaker. get rid of him. mr. washington won't listen. >> he faces additional charges.

hi, everybody. let's go to first doppler radar. we now have that area of low pressure. the main driver in the forecast over the past 8 days. directly south of us. you can see the clockwise rotation around the low itself. meaning the rain that's moving knot, east and swinging up -- north and east and swinging towards the port deposit and newark area and towards carol and frederick counties. i want to show you -- you said when is it going to get warmer? it's doing to get warmer now than yesterday. can't you feel it? it's going to take this low a while to get offshore. look at that, one word, now over the great lakes where the low was, nice. there is an area of high pressure, putting the boot to the weather system. wait until you see how nice our weather is going to be.
