happened. adam may is live with police. >> reporter: shoppers at a wal- mart are surprised about this attack. and more now that they learned that the fight may have been over a man. >> kind of scary. >> reporter: police say 33-year- old teresa jefferson douse another woman with piles of cleaning chemicals. >> the suspect followed the victim, approached her in the aisle of where the cleaning products were in the store and basically assaulted this woman with whatever she could get her hands on. >> reporter: at least one person suffered serious eye injury, others were affected by the fumes calling a hazmat call. jefferson has a long wrap sheet. jefferson's ex-boyfriend and

looking for the suspect in this attack. this scene was posted on gutter news. officers were called to the eden's lounge for routine crowd control. when a man stumbled out of the club, his back covered in blood. when the victim removed his shirt he had five stab wounds to his upper back. two other men also ran out of the club, covered in blood. both had stab wounds to their back and neck. eden's lounge tells wjz we really don't know what happened. we deeply regret that it occurred and we regret that people were injured. this certainly doesn't reflect eden's lounge. it's not typical of anything that goes on here. the nightclub is known to have a strong police presence. following the murder of marine

tyrone brown in june of 2010. brown was leaving eden's lounge when he was shot several times by officer tashambe who was sentenced to seven years forness and 10 years for a homicide charge. tonight police are not commenting on this case. they have not provided us with the suspect's description and they have not told us about any arrests. back to you. jessica, thank you. eden's lounge is located in the heart of mount vernon. dozens of firefighters spent almost two hours getting the flames under control. there are no reports of any injuries and the investigation into the cause is under way. there is new doubt tonight about the 2001 anthrax attack. the fbi says a man the maryland

is responsible but a group of scientists is raising a question about what really happened. pat warren discusses the developments in this case. >> reporter: a soon to be released paper says the maryland man accused of the anthrax attack may have had help or he may have been innocent. letters mailed to news outlets and senators contained anthrax that sickened 26. >> i don't feel like i am completely well. i sense it from time to time that there's really something wrong with me. >> reporter: years into the investigation the fbi hones in on grouth ivan. the scientist killed himself before he was charged. he could not take the pressure. >> the dam was breaking and all this pressure on him. >> reporter: new research now raises question whether the anthrax was available of ivan

and whether he was capable of the processing it. it drew no conclusions about ivan. >> we're not asked to and will not offer any view on the guilt or innocence of any person or persons. >> reporter: the fbi response to the february report states that law maintained that while science played a significant role it was the totality of the investigative process that determined the anthrax case. this newest report provides no evidence whatsoever that the anthrax was produced any where but fort detrix. the scientists conclude that the information they have discovered should lead the government to take another look. i'm pat warren, now back to you. >> the fbi spokesman says they stand by their decision. the occupy wall street movement continues to spread throughout the country. pinkston reports from new york,

not everyone agrees with the protesters message. >> reporter: for almost a month, demonstrators have been demanding an end to corporate greed and financial inequality. some just want a job. >> i'm unemployed and desperately looking for work for a year and a half. >> reporter: now the movement is spreading to at least 25 peoples across the nation including toledo. >> just fed winston up with nothing happening. our representatives are supposed to be taking care of us and nothing is happening right now -- i'm just fed up with nothing happening. >> reporter: more demonstrations are planned throughout the week across the nation. organizers are also hoping protesters overseas will join us. but even though the protests have been growing, the crowds have yet to define one single message. >> five the different people have a different message about what they're seeing. it's not just one goal. >> sort of like a circus to me.

a fast moving storm dumped heavy rain and left some without power. that storm even spawned trouble in san antonio. >> reporter: the twister ripped the roof off hunter's house. it tore a hole on what used to be his living room and sent his deck into his neighbor's house. >> i've been in storms before, i usually hear a train noise but it didn't everyone do that. >> reporter: mail trucks tossed around like toys at this station. the water raised so fast that this woman and daughter had to be rescued from their car. >> they're going to bring the tarp back on the field. >> reporter: the wet weather interrupted the game play offs. game one on saturday between the texas rangers and detroit tigers had to be stopped twice.

bit more moisture in here but nothing compared to what we have coming our way. it's going to get pretty moist. mainly on wednesday and again on thursday. as that front off to the west will cross our region. 80 here. 75 annapolis and rock hall. and even 80 out in columbia. generally now an east wind that's going to start to bring in some of that water from the atlantic ocean. to the south that's where the real tropical moisture is. here's the front that brought the storm . the bulk of the rain coming from this low pressure moving up from southern georgia. the low is kind of hard to define. rain in eastern florida, some areas could get more than five to 6-inches and they've had heavy rain. that rain moving through

mostly sunny. thanks for staying with wjz eyewitness news. gas prices take another dive dropping as low as $3.17. monique griegos has more. >> reporter: gas prices are causing some sticker shock. >> at first i thought it was an incorrect prize. >> reporter: aisha williams had to do a double take before filling up at this exxon. >> gas nowadays are is high. it's so expensive. so when you see 3.17 it's out of this world. >> reporter: within the past month gas prices have dropped by almost 30-cents. right now the national average is $3.40 a gallon. in maryland it's $3.32 a gallon. while that's still almost 60 seconds more than a year ago, drivers are enjoying the dip. >> i was surprised, happily surprised. >> reporter: virginia aredelo says the dip is typical for this time of year and could

last a few months before rebounding in 2012. >> after any major economic events or even geo political events they will probably continue to decline. many analysts are saying they will get back to that $3 per gallon range and many people are saying they are already there but they're not. >> reporter: gas prices were reporting some places at around $3 or less a gallon. we drove to a few of those stations and found that the prices didn't really match what they were on their website. >> they are not at $3 a gallon yet. we can only hope and pray they reach that. >> reporter: drivers seem to be jumping on any opportunity to keep their tally down. >> this is a little bit of a bonus for everyone. you know take advantage of it when you can.

>> happy monday. >> happy monday for sure. >> reporter: monique griego. of the nation, new mexico has the lowest prize at $2.90. crews save a man after he fell off a 30-foot cliff. it happened off south hill road. a 28-year-old man slipped off some rocks and landed in a remote area of the park. the fire department put him in a basket to hoist him to the top of the cliff. it took about an hour to bring him to safety. a family spends 20 hours in the water after their boat capsizes off the florida keys. one of the survivors is a 4- year-old girl. vic is in the newsroom to explain how they were finally rescued. >> seven people were thrown into the water. some of them held to the overrun turn. commercial fishermen finally spoted the boat and alerted the

hear the new studies that will have you changing your opinion. sandra hughes has the story. >> reporter: new research finds taking dietary supplements does not make you live longer, in fact, they could shorten your life. international doctors looked at 1,000 women women who took supplements. taking multi vitamins, vitamin b6, folic, acid was increased with risk of death. >> they are able to tell us with use of multi vitamin increedsed the risk by 2.3%. >> reporter: the association was strongest when it took to taking iron and researchers found taking calcium supplement appears to reduce the risk of death. according to the centers for disease control and prevention more than half of u.s. adults take one supplement daily that number is increasing as we look for ways to stay healthy. doctors say it's important to know what you're taking because
