lengthy wrap sheet. jefferson and the victim had a relationship and a child together. >> to get in some sort of altercation like that amongst so many other people in a large venue like that is kind of mind blowing to me. >> reporter: jefferson faces charges of first and second degree assault. she is still being held at the baltimore county detention center on $350,000 bail. adam may. wjz eyewitness news. >> jefferson has a court appearance scheduled for tomorrow. a man's strange behavior causes alarm in a park in anne run dell county. now police are looking for possible victims. police arrested this man 49- year-old james scaglioni after a witness saw him giving money to two young boys and then tried to walk them into a wooded area. after officers approached scaglioni he took off and was captured after a brief chase. anyone with information of what

happened is asked to call police. two people with stabbed inside a popular hot spot. wjz is live, jessica cartalia with the story. >> reporter: tonight police are still searching for a suspect. this video posted on gutter magazine's website shows the scene outside a popular mount vernon nightclub early sunday morning. a police report obtained by wjz says officers were called to the eden's lounge on west eager street when a man staggered out of the club with his back covered in blood. the man was confused and highly intoxicated. when the man removed his shirt he had five stab wounds to his back. two other men also ran out of the club covered in blood. both had stab wounds to the back and neck. eden's lounge tells wjz we really don't know what happened.

we deeply regret that it occurred and we regret that people were injured. this certainly does not reflect eden's lounge. it's not typical of what goes on here. the club is known to have a high police presence following the death of brown. he was shot several times by officer tashambe who was sentenced to seven years for manslaughter and 10 years for a handgun violation. all three victims tell police they didn't see the person who stabbed them and don't know what sparked the violence. at this point police are not commenting at all on this case. they haven't provided us with a suspect suspension they do not know of any suspect in custody. i'm jessica cartalia, wjz news. thank you jessica. of course eden lounge is located in the heart of vernon. sky high chopper 13 was over rout 40 in aberdine. you can see this sedan plowed

into the back of a tractor trailer. it destroyed the car. three people were taken to the hospital. we do not have word on their condition. tough new questions, a group of scientists bringing up questions on whether a maryland man was behind anthrax attacks. pat warren has more on the findings raising questions about who was responsible, pat. >> reporter: that's right a soon to be published paper raises the prospect that the maryland scientists accused of the crime could have had help or may have been innocent. letters dated the day of the world trade attack mailed to news outlets and u.s. senators contained anthrax that killed eight people and sickened 28 others. >> i still don't feel like i'm completely well. i sense from time to time that there really is something wrong with me.

>> reporter: years after the investigation, the fbi looks at brandon. >> the dam was breaking and all this pressure on him. >> reporter: new research now raises questions on whether the particular strain of anthrax was available to ivan and whether he was capable of processing. it follows a report that criticizes the fbi's collection of evidence. >> we will not offer any view of the guilt or innocence of any person or persons. >> reporter: the fbi response to the february report states the law maintained that while science played a significant role it was the totality of the process that determined the outcome of the anthrax case. this newest report provides no evidence whatsoever that the anthrax was produced any where but fort detrix. the scientists insist their findings should have their

government addressing those questions. i'm pat warren, now back to you on tv hill. >> pat, thank you. the fbi says they stand by their conclusions. an investigation is underway on the cause of a fire near curtis bay. dozens of firefighters head to the fire. it took them two hours to put out the flames. no word on what caused them and there were no injuries. the occupy wall street movement is growing. more protests are popping up across the country. those protesters say they are not going any where. >> for almost a month, demonstrators have been demanding an ends to corporate greed. some just want a job. >> i'm unemployed december prattly looking for work. >> reporter: now the movement is spreading to at least 25 cities across the country including toledo. >> just fed up with nothing happening. our representatives are supposed to be taking care of us. and nothing is happening right

now. >> reporter: in washington, d.c., demonstrators are occupying freedom plaza and have no plans to leave everyone though they've been told they have to get out. more demonstrations are planned throughout the week across the nation. organizers are also hoping protesters overseas will join in. but even though the protests are growing no one seems to have defineed the purpose.. andy deary has been watching the protests and say the protests have no value. >> sort of like a circus to me. i'm working here for a few days and it seems like a circus. >> reporter: parents are bringing their children to watch the protest on the columbus day. >> my wife and i are both public school teachers and we think everything is really a teachable moment. so we wanted to use the opportunity to teach our kids that they're really the ones who we need to care about. >> reporter: the protesters in

new york say the demonstrations will continue, mayor michael bloomburg say they can stay indefinitely as long as they follow the law. the protests have caused new york city more than $2 million in police overtime. according to commissioner dell. you can't put a price on beautiful weather like this. sadly inevitable things will be changing soon. and bob turk and bernadette woods are tracking the forecast. bernadette welcome back. >> thank you, thank you. >> let's take a look at conditions across the region. a little sun there, but there's been some clouds. nothing around here but when we open up and go to the south that's where a batch of rain is and it's moving generally in our direction. so we're looking for some more clouds. and a chance of that rain. look at these warm temperatures around the region.

still 75, believe it or not we go to 85 degrees at the airport this afternoon. 68 in ocean city, so what does tomorrow bring and after tomorrow looks like we have more rain coming. bernadette woods has a look at that. >> what's down to our south a tropical disturbance is a lot of tropical moisture which does mean downpours and it's moving in our direction. we've been blocked by high pressure and some gorgeous weather. that will give way to our tropical moisture. the clouds are coming in, will thicken tomorrow. the heaviest of the rain probably coming on wednesday into early thursday morning. we'll have that full forecast coming up back inside. bernadette. thank you. it's not what you want to hear but one good factor from the slumping economy gas prices continue to drop. some places in maryland are below $3 a gallon. monique griego tells us what we can expect the next time we gas up. >> reporter: gas prices are

causing some sticker shock. at first i thought it was an incorrect price. >> aisha williams had to do a double take before filling up at this gas station. >> gas these days is very high. when you see $3.17 it's out of this world. >> reporter: in the last month, the price has dropped almost 40- cents. in maryland it's $3.32. while that's still almost 60- cents from a year ago drivers are enjoying the dip. >> i was surprised, happily surprised. >> reporter: the dip is typical for this time of year and could last a few months before rebounding in 2012. >> after any major economic events or geo political events they will continue to decline. many analysts are saying that they will get to that $3 mark.

ordeal. >> reporter: tonya cash is revealing what it was like to live under the thumb of security guard. this is what cash looked like at 14. a middle school student when she first went missing. she remained largely out of sight for the next 14 years. this is what she looked now after she reappeared. older some what wiser after she spent almost a decade locked up in the basement of this man. tony hawk the security guard at her school. >> i had to go to the bathroom in a bucket. i kept bottles of water. >> reporter: she told her story aside her attorney that stood by her side. >> i thought i was loved all those years and i wasn't. >> reporter: in the book cash describes her living condition saying most of the time i ate

76 and 75 as you see another mild day. tonight will be a lot milder than the last couple of nights. we had lots of nights early this week in the low to mid- 40s. tonight we will stay in the mid- to low 60s in the city. very light winds, most areas beginning to turn more to the southeast and the east. that will bring in some atlantic moisture and down to the south is a whole slug of tropical moisture. this started down south of the bahamas. moved up east of florida, a lot of rain in the east coast. the heaviest rain over georgia and south carolina into north carolina. also to the west this front is going to be moving to the east. eventually this front will bring with it cooler and drier air. late thursday night and friday and the weekend looks nice. this front coming through the region. this rain moving up the east coast. the clouds will be increasing getting lower and thicker and look for some rain. probably breaking out. it'll be late tomorrow night we'll see showers.

steady rain here on and off i think some areas could see heavy rain here on wednesday. perhaps one, 1.5 maybe some spots could pick up 2-inches of rain. because here's the tropical moisture with this. any of that tropical moisture can drop heavy downpours briefly in some areas. then it moves through the area as the front will kick it out. it won't be an all week event. generally on wednesday, and then thursday with a shower in the front. we'll be picking it up later. it's called partly cloudy at this point. 55 to 60 in the city. tomorrow mid-70s. it is what it is right now with rain developing late late tomorrow night. and most of wednesday looks wet, dreary and cooler. >> but we've had seven or eight incredible days. >> sure have, can't be greedy. he was one of the greatest players to wear a colt's uniform.

glass my way. >> reporter: the twister sent his deck into his neighbor's yard. >> i've been in tornadoes before and i usually hear a train sound, but there was nothing. >> reporter: the storm's heavy rains also caused flash flooding. the water rose so fast that this woman and her daughter had to be rescued from her car. >> if anything happened to me then it would have been fine as long as my daughter was okay. that's all that matters. >> they're going to bring the tarp back on the field. >> reporter: near dallas the wet weather interrupted the american league play offs. game one on saturday between the texas rangers and detroit tigers had to be stopped twice. game two last night was rained out. the storm brought some much needed rain to texas up to 5- inches fell over the weekend in some areas. san antonio set a report with 3-inches of rain on one day

alone. >> we're starting to chip away but we're still in exceptional drought conditions. >> terrell brown, wjz. bernadette woods is in the weather center. welcome back bern. >> the storm we were just talking about that brought all the rain and severe weather to texas it is going to factor into our forecast but here's what it looks like. we have doppler open pretty wide. this is a storm that brought all of that damage. it's really fizzling out but what it's doing is directing this second storm our way. while we're starting to get some clouds but eventually we're going to get clouds of heavy rain with it. it is going to pick up as we head about the next 24 to 48 hours. so that's what we're going to be watching, and we will keep you updated. a 24-year-old man was rescued after taking a dangerous fall. baltimore county fire department had to bring this a rescue helicopter to hoist a man after he fell 30 feet.
