old curtis lopez is charged with marying his estranged wife. a nationwide search is on for william. >> my hope is that he may be with family member and friend that perhaps has no idea that what's occurred with his mother. >> his mother, 51-year-old jane found murdered in her german town bedroom. police believe her body may have been here for nearly 2 weeks. this morning police found her missing car, a honda crv in north carolina. it was her estranged husband, 45-year-old curtis lopez. he was arrested outside this econo lodge. >> we're shocked that something like this could happen. >> i don't have any clue. i just hope that he comes up safe. >> neighbors say they saw lopez 2 weeks ago taking items and loading them into her car.

>> i seen him put this -- 50- inch flat screen tv, it was in a box. the box was open. he put it in the back of the car. >> william hasn't been to class and -- he hasn't been to class since september 30th. wjz has obtained this letter sent home to parents grief counselors have be brought in for class mates as the search for the 11-year-old continues. police now say their top priority is finding the 6th 6th graders, discovering him unharmed may be a long shot. >> tonight montgomery county homicide detectives are in north carolina interviewing lopez, no word if you've given any indication on the whereabouts of his stepson. reporting live wjz eyewitness news. >> they say they suffered trauma to the upper body. autopsy will be performed by the medical examiner's office. police rushed to this

parking garage after a man was shot in the back several times. detectives think this may have been a robbery. we're told the victim is in critical condition and officers are still looking for the shooter. city police also need your help finding this man, germane escaped from custody after officers arrested him yesterday on the east side of town. they say he stole a woman's purse. police will not tell us how he escaped. they do believe he's armed and dangerous. >> tonight tornado watch is cancelled. a suspected tornado did touchdown in the virginia county that was the epi center, you can see the roof was cut off, the funnel cloud was spotted just before 4:00 this afternoon. bob is in the weather center with a closer look at the storms that roll through. >> some shower and thunderstorm activity. pretty much from dc to the

in new york. police plan to kick the protesters out of this park tomorrow morning so the park owners can clean it up. but demonstrators call it an eviction notice. they have spent the last months camped out protesting banks and corporations. police are promising to arrest any protesters who will not leave. major operation to stay in the national cathedral. kayak son explains, the dangerous steps it's going to take. >> it's a delicate operation, engineers say they're making significant progress in preparing the national cathedral. >> it was a job shrouded not in secrecy, he lifts and lowers parts at the top of the national cathedral in northwest washington, d.c. the stone was damaged during the august earthquake. >> the structure of the cathedral did okay in the quake, but again as everything shook and all that energy went up it ended up --

it is 71 degrees and cloudy, the complete forecast is coming up. a dramatic rescue in california when a base jumper gets entangled in a tree. the man jumped from california's bridge news in sacramento and parachute got caught on the way down. the man dangled 60 feet in the air. rescue crew did save him. base jumping is only legal with a permit. >> a jury convicts joshua of murdering a woman and her two daughters in a 2007 home invasion. he was guilty in all counts of kidnapping, sexual assault, murder and arson. jennifer and her daughters haley were killed, husband and father, dr. william petite was the only survivor. he could face the death personal. tonight we're learning of early warning signs about the man suspected of killing 8 people in southern california hair salon. his wife claimed abuse and

instability. investigators are learning more about the alleged killer scott,. >> respect scott entered the location at 500 specific coast highway and opened fire with a handgun. ultimately killing 8 people and critically killing one. >> the 41-year-old is in custody. the only suspect in wednesday's shooting massacre at the salon where his ex-wife worked. the salon was full of customers who scrambled for cover as the gunman opened fire. the quiet seaside community is in shock. >> i knew that one of the girls that worked here. she was so well loved. a beautiful lady. >> investigators confirmed the names of those killed. among the dead the ex-wife 48- year-old michelle, her coworker and friend and the salon owner randy, five other men and women were shot to death. people who knew the former

columbia just went through d.c. about the third storm they've had. around the baltimore it's been pretty quiet. there are some showers around. and few in baltimore county out by fredericks, particularly out in howard county as you can see. it's moving up to the north. we do have risk of more showers tonight and into the morning hours tomorrow, but things will be changing after that. take a look at temperatures right now it's the warmest it's been 71 degrees this time of night. still falling -- 54 out in oakland, still 72 in packs river. 69 ocean city. the dew points very high, very moist atmosphere, that's one of the reasons we had these storms developing down to the south very unstable air mass. primarily because we had easterly winds at ocean component. d.c -- there's still a lot of warm air, tomorrow we will still be in this warm air, but to the west of us is a frontal

system, that front is going to create some more scattered shower and thundershower activity, maybe a gusty thunderstorm in a couple spots because of low pressure that's spinning, it's going to come by our region late in the afternoon, maybe three or four 5:00, i think by 6:00 or 7:00 it's done. we have a risk of showers in the morning tomorrow, probably in the early afternoon, going to be wildly scattered. after 5:00 or 6:00 it will be through the region and that's when we're looking for a big change. the winds go west low west. a lot of sunshine, but a heck of a breeze coming in by late tomorrow night and on sad. it will be breezy but mainly sunny and a lot of sun here on sunday, a very pleasant weekend, all -- compare what we've seen. it will be a little breezy there on saturday. southwest winds, 5 to 10 knots, up around 60, 70 degrees.
