up. we have more from mike, who was in court all day long. >> it is a complex process, picking a jury and under scoring that when the judge asked if they had heard or seen coverage of the case, 85% said that they had. >> she looked different in court than in her mug shot. the 29-year-old sat comely, watching as they went through the jury pool and then the prosecution with a gruesome picture. they said she killed her co- worker in downtown after she was confronted for stealing from the store. >> why murder someone over clothing? >> the murder was brutal.

her spine was cut in two and her skull was crushed. she tied herself up and cut herself and said she and the co- worker were beat and sexually assaulted. but the evidence went straight to her. she was supposed to use insanity, but the lawyers did not use that. it is not clear their strait fee. they will use taped interviews with her changing story and the dna evidence. the family said that they have faith in the justice system. >> of all the steps of grieving, i have not left anger. if i could say something to her, it would be one word -- why?

that was her father. they will start now to get down to the meat of the case. murry went to john hopkins business school and working on her degree. after being accused of planning a terror attack in washington d.c., the prosecution said that the man wanted to assassinate the saudi arabia ambassador to the united states. he pleaded not guilty to all five counts against him. he had admitted his part in the plan at a washington d.c. restaurant by setting off explosives. he tried to hire hit men from the mexico drug cartel to carry out the plans. the president's administration is saying that the iran government involved, but that is being called baseless. a second suspect is still at

large. a powerful earthquake hit turkey and the death toll is near 300. here is more on that search for survivors. >> they cradled the child as he was pulled out alive. they said that each survivor gave hope. that is a day after the powerful earthquake killed about 300 people. this man was pulled out alive and the brother was under the debris. the rescuers in east turkey will be trying to find and free dozens under the buildings. the survivors spent a cold night on the street. they are trying to get supplies and departments. stropping aftershocks are still shaking the area and people are told to stay out of believes and this is too much even for

calling jackson's death with an overdose. in the last month, the prosecution called over 30 witness attention and it is building a case. many said that the doctor was careless and they heard the slurd voice of jackson, speaking under the influence of drugs. he had recorded this call weeks before jackson died and the prosecution said he knew that the patient had a drug problem and did nothing about it. the defense is expected to counter with over a dozen witnesses and the lawyers for the doctor will likely admit his treatment of jackson was not other dockets -- oater douxtroke. it is possible that the doctor will take the stand, but

jewel. -- july. a couple was found shot to death inside the village in rockville. the other patients heard gunshots after a man came to visit his wife. they think that he killed the 74-year-old in her room and turned the gun on himself. it is not clear what led to this. the school officials said that a 15-year-old student was shot in the neck as the other students were eating lunch. the student is being treated in the hospital and they are looking for the suspect. students were on lock down and were released an hour ago. more on the missing baby with new video from the night she went missing. it was from a gas taigs from where she was last seen. someone was seen walking on the road about 2:30 15 october #th. she was said to have been missed hours after that. they followed up on the report
