this unusual october storm generally across the bottom on that, 1 to 3 to the south and east. 3 to 6 inches now, far west of maryland, 9 inches if possible in some of the areas way out to the west. the state -- record snow fall for this time of year. >> reporter: to give you an idea just how rare an october snow, if we get 1 inch of snow at dwi tomorrow, it will be the second snow west october day ever. a fall weather fast forward october not even over yet but winter is on the way. >> very unusual. ant -- >> from last time differently,

it's 44 degrees, light rain in central maryland right now. the complete forecast is coming up. a scene in texas when a tanker truck ignite it is driver said he heard a pop and pulled off the road. he was able to escape the burning rig. the fire took out utility poles which caused power outages to nearby homes. the major freeway was temporarily closed. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. a 6 day search for a missing autistic boy in virginia ends on a happy note. police say robert wood jr. was found lying in a creek bed. thousands of people helped look for the 8-year-old. they found him less than a mile from where he disappeared. he was separated from his family while they were hiking. police in california have started an investigation after seeing this video from a boot

navy's defense ranked as one of the worst in the nation. david stern thinks smiling earlier this week wasn't smiling today. he announced that regular season games are now cancelled through november negotiations broke off with no progress and talks to end the league wide lockout. the commissioner says under no circumstances can they now salvage a 82 game season. the owners and players remain wildly divided. no further talks or scheduled after today's break down. network restrictions will keep us from showing it, but the st. louis cardinals are celebrating tonight world series champs with their victory over the texas rangers. >> congratulations. >> i've got happy family members. >> thank you, mark, ,,,,,,,,,,,,

a deer pulled him out of the water. not far from the -- martin luther king -- martin luther king memorial. animal control then gave him a lift back to the woods. splish splash a raccoon was taking a bath in the tub of one colorado woman. she pulled back the shower curtain. she didn't seem to be bothered by the intrusion. posed for some pictures. she tried to lure the raccoon out of the tub but it didn't work, so a professional was called in and raccoon relaxing in the tub. >> that's pretty specific, in the house and into the tub. >> be right back. ,,,,
