washington tavern is in ashes tonight. megan mccorckel has the loss on the neighborhood. >> it is hard to believe that this is what the washington tavern looks like tonight. the historic building nearly a total loss and neighbors tell me they're lost without it. >> the regulars out tonight at mount washington tavern, but instead of sitting inside they're on the sidewalk staring at the shell of the building they love. >> this was like our second home. >> reporter: a fire ignited inside the north baltimore landmark early this morning, the flames so strong they smoldered into the night from sky high chopper 13 you can see the roof is gone. >> not just a building, it's not just a business it's more than that. it's a place you can go to, relax and these are your friends. >> reporter: neighbors say the tavern brings heart and history to the village. the tavern was a general store.

40 degrees and cloudy in central maryland tonight. the complete forewarn weather is coming up. part of a bluff collapsed near a milwaukee power plant. no one was hurt. an environmental assessment is underway. it is not known what caused the collapse but weather is not believed to be a factor. >> a real life nightmare inside a haunted house in missouri. police say a 17-year-old girl was using a noose as a prop and got caught up in it. the teenager was in critical condition and is now listed as improving. now it looks as if it was simply a terrible accident.

three more bodies have been recovered from this weekend's grain explosion. the search was delayed because of the unstable nature of the building. investigators say the explosion happened while corn was being loaded on a crane. a police cruiser is the suspect in a high speed chase on a florida speed cam. the trooper approached the cruiser with her gun drawn, and then noticed the driver was a miami city police officer in uniform. he said he was late for an off duty detail. the officer was cited for reckless driving. it seems like everyone has a camera and when police make an arrest it's a good chance someone is recording it. tonight wjz reporting on the

city 54, dc coming in 50. locally temperatures in the mid- to upper 40s. so it was not a bad night for trick or treating, was not cold, not a lot of wind and it stayed dry until just minutes ago. south of us, winds now out of the north and northwest. most places tomorrow won't be a major factor. there's a weak system coming through. the mountains but it's really weakened completely. this one across florida which caused a lot of rain. cocoa beach had over 6-1/2- inches of rain that's all because of a low pressure that moved offshore, caused some rain in eastern carolina, south eastern virginia and now that rain is moving to the area. just a little shielded rain continuing to work into eastern new england that will help to get rid of some of the snow. west of us pretty much clearing skies. we'll look for a lot of sunshine tomorrow. high pressure goes in thursday night into friday. another system developing out west. probably bring in a couple of showers while denver probably gets one or two snowstorms in
