up in flames a police pursuit leads to firey crash. dramatic chain of events and the arrests that follow. hello everyone, i'm dick carter. >> a car consumed by flame ins a baltimore neighborhood. the people inside nearly escape with police on their heels. karen jackson -- kye jackson tells us how it all unfolds. >> we understand that two innocent people were involved in this accident and also two suspects are apparently in custody allegedly charged with being involved in that accident. >> skyeye chopper 13 is over northeast baltimore as police become fireman trying to extinguish a burning car. city police are pursuing the vehicle that's burning, a black lincoln. >> that looks like a search engine. >> sources say that police were trying to stop the driver of

the lincoln. it appears at some point the lincoln collided with this green toyota that sent the toyota crashing into the garden wall of this house. chase ended when these two cars wrecked and this one caught fire. officers sprung into action to put it out even before the fire department arrived. eyewitness has learned that police took two suspects into custody. two men who were apparently in the lincoln. >> reporter: the two people in the toyota were apparently husband and wife and weren't seriously hurt. the owner of the house came out to survey the damage but told eyewitness news it wasn't serious. >> it was mayhem out here for a short period of time. at least 20 or 30 police cars were on the scene. >> reporter: we understand from our sources this was basically a drug bust. we have not heard official confirmation, we understand that some drugs were recovered, although we're not certain how much. >> thank you, the police investigation continues. a chemical scare sends

several students to the hospital. firefighters rush when the students accidentally dropped a container of -- everyone was evacuated, two students went to the hospital but they should be okay. students are in hot water for putting a 4-year-old in on a school bus to the wrong neighborhood. he's left wandering alone. the investigation lost by school leaders. >> reporter: that 4-year-old boy was put on a school bus after class and dropped off at a school bus stop, the problem is he doesn't take the bus. he lived -- she lived every parents' nightmare. she went to pick up her 4-year- old son inside his classroom was empty. >> nobody knew anything. >> they didn't know where he was. >> reporter: turns out her 4- year-old was put on a school bus and dropped off here at the carriage hill apartments two miles away. >> have you ever been on the

school bus before? >> no. >> reporter: former school employee found him crying, wandering walked by himself. she called the school. was it scary, how did you feel? >> bad. >> reporter: now she wants answers about why her son was ever put on the bus. they say within one hour they figured out how the mistake was made. >> it's a parent's nightmare. it's a school system's nightmare. >> reporter: she said she took immediate action but she understands why parents are out ranged. >> parents should be outraged. we're outraged that this happened. >> reporter: he says her son is so scare he doesn't want to return to school. >> i'm sorry. she wants to make sure that no parent goes through this same ordeal. >> reporter: school officials tell us that they do have

safeguards in place but admit that there was a break down in the system. reporting live megan, wjz eyewitness news. >> thank you. >> baltimore schools are not releasing what action is being taken involved. a gun scare on the campus turns out to be a big misunderstanding. police swarm the campus and students were told to stay inside. the gun was just a prop for and acting class. student carrying the gun won't face any charges. landing without handing gear, tonight the pilot of an international flight from newark to warsaw is being held a hero after nail biting crash landing. if you haven't seen this video, take a look. the plane makes an emergency landing skidding to a stop on its belly. small fires erupted but they were quickly put out and all 230 people on board rushed to safety. the pilot of the flight says the plane suffered a high drawlish system failure soon after take off making it

international money fear sent stocks sliding again. here are the closing numbers. the dow is down 297 points. the s&p loses five. the plunge comes as investors worry a european bailout plan may fall apart. there is is a small victory for consumers tonight, massive backlash forces bank of america to cancel its debit card fee. the bank wanted to charge $5 a month for debit card purchases, other big banks have already backed up. hit with a nasty reality, steep toll hikes are now in effect across the state. here is a look at how drivers are responding. >> reporter: starting today, higher tolls are the new reality in maryland and many drivers like lisa kelly aren't happy. >> the extra money you have to put up for it is crazy. >> reporter: here is the break down, they go up from 2 to $3 cash with the commuter rate

increasing from 40 cents to 75 cents. the jump across bay bridge jumps also. and on i-95 kennedy highway and on the hadom bridge the toll goes up from 5 to $6 and easy pass rates jump from 80 cents to $1.50. they need these toll increases to play for the upkeep on their aging bridges tunnels and toll facilities. the higher tolls will also help cover cost of the i-95 express lane and help pay for debts on the $2.5 billion intercounty connector highway. that's the reason some drivers don't mind forking out more. >> but daily harbor tunnel users say the toll hike adds $40 to its commute each month. >> my income is not going up, that stays the same. but yet, you know, we've got the state raising the toll pike
