has been through. i want no other family to go through this. >> reporter: why this case will haunt the jury forever. hello, everybody, i'm denise koch. late this evening the jury finds a bath beth ez da woman guilty of first degree murder. kai jackson has reactions from the victim's family. >> for many the verdict is not a surprise but for the family there is a sense of justice. they sat outside the courtroom, their emotions still raw. >> got a first degree murder verdict. very pleasing. >> reporter: after deliberating one hour a montgomery county jury convicted britney norwood of first degree murder. the prosecutor says murray's

life was full of promise. >> this is a woman who had unlimited potential. >> reporter: the murder happened march 11th. police say norwood attacked murray when she confronted her about taking merchandise. >> i think she's been remorseful from day one. >> reporter: the jury saw 300 pictures stabbing and beating wounds. jurors say testimony from murray's mother was powerful. >> what we agreed was the most difficult thing was when her mother took the stand. >> i know the trauma our family has been through. i want no other family to go through this. >> reporter: britney norwood's family says he plans to ask the judge in the case with life with the possibility of parole at sentencing.

thank you. britney nor yod is scheduled to be sentenced in. the jurors decided on life with the possibility of parole. bishop shot ray porter at a gas station. he will get a chance of freedom in about 50 years. police are investigating a murder in a parkville home. officers found the woman's body in this home on sara lane. police won't tell us who the woman is. they have not made any arrests. protesters downtown tonight they have cut off electricity at their camp down. live at -- megan mccork l explain. >> sasha: you can see the rights are on, but the outlets have all been cut off. protesters say they won't stop

them. >> electric cords run across the plaza but the power is cut. >> it is quite inhumane. >> reporter: city officials flipped the switch after they say they found fire and electrocution hazards. >> i can see people making ways around it. >> reporter: just last week the city ruled that camping here was illegal. a few showed the tents that remain, safety a concern at the site after reports of a theft and illegal drug use. >> the protesters don't seem to have that same concern about public safety and i take public safety very seriously. >> reporter: demonstrateors saying not true. >> there's been a lot of reports of violence and sexual activity and drugs and all this stuff. and it's mainly just gossip and rumors. >> reporter: city council members understand the concern

it is 43 degrees with clear skies in central maryland's right now. camcampers at this park in wails find themselves living a little too close to the edge. tons of rocks fell to the beach below but no injuries were reported. the cause of the collapse still is being investigated. a disturbing video that shows a texas judge beating his teenage daughter with a belt. hillary adams said she waited several years to post this video and hopes it will spur her father to get help. public outcry has prompted police to start an investigation. the judge said the video looks

today in kansas and nebraska. further east there's some shower activity but it's going to head down to our south so we're not too concerned about it. maybe a few clouds with it tomorrow night into friday. tomorrow our winds go back to the north, northeast. that will bring in somewhat cooler area into the weekend but still a little sunshine. speaking of cool, look at this. 29 in bismarck. denver had snow earlier. down to 12 degrees. on the other side that front, 57 in detroit. look at that. we're 43. detroit was near 70 today. this warm air will be with us tomorrow and at least a portion of friday before that front kind of slips through the area, brings in some cooler conditions and some shower activity way down across southern virginia. south winds of the day, got to keep it mild.
