now it is complete coverage. it is wjz, maryland's news station. >> hello gan i am don scott. >> i am jessica kartalija. >> we are following new developments in the case of a missing maryland woman and a man held in aruba in connection with that disappearance, a judge has ordered gary giordano set free. he has been held there since the disappearance of his companion robyn gardner. he says she vanished but no body has been found. the judge says he must be set free by tuesday. millions rushing to stores to cash in open black friday deals, some have been going on for a full 12 hours and weijia jiang and wjz are live with this report. >> reporter: good afternoon.

it is obvious these shoppers mean business. of course a welcome sight for businesses who say the holiday shopping season really makes or breaks the entire year and like you said some of these guys have been out here since midnight. black friday's frenzy, perhaps crazier than it has ever been. at the town center more than two dozen stores opened at midnight a trend that brought out millions of shoppers nationwide, retailers were clearly eager to bring out spenders as early as possible. >> some stores are reporting they have had three days worth of business in two hours so a great start to black friday. >> reporter: analysts say the deals are bigger too. >> they had sales and i had coupons, i did really well, victoria secret my bill was less. so i think i did well. >> and here is a live look for

the generals running that country to transfer power to civilians now. that is what tens of thousands of protesters have been calling for in a series of clashes that has injured thousands and killed more than 30. the demonstrations took on new energy this morning. the protesters are upset at the military's decision to appoint a prime minister to head the next government who was part of has knee hosni mubarak's regime. the first round of voting is supposed to begin monday. >> today's rally against the military comes a day after one of the ruling generals apologized for the lives lost in the clashes with police. >> for three days the state fair growns turns into a winter wonderland for the festival of trees and they opened this morning. the 22nd year for the largest holiday event on the east coast

tree farmers a drought in the southwest has killed thousands of trees in texas and oklahoma. hundreds of others burned in fires. some farmers are now importing trees from north carolina while others have been forced to shut down. >> a new hotel in dallas is drawing criticism for being a distraction. it just opened omni has a light show built into its exterior, lights that seem to chase each other around the building blending from one color to another. it is plainly visible from a couple of different expressways and that is the problem. drivers are complaining it keeps them from concentrating on the road. of course, that sort of reminds us of the light show going on at the power plant building downtown. it is a water front life runs from now until the new year. >> still ahead on wjz eyewitness news at noon, it is a beautiful black friday out there. your full first warning weather forecast is two and a half
