explosive evidence in the child sex case against syracuse basketball coach bernie fine. why this investigation is now in the hands of the secret service. >> hello, everyone. i'm vic carter. here's what people are talking about tonight. a new accuser comes forward and old audio tapes are revealed. the conversations recorded are gaining attraction tonight. even the coach's friends are turning against him. >> reporter: syracuse university fired assistant basketball coach bernie fine, after a third allegation of sexual abuse, and the discovery of a 10-year-old audio recording. on the tape, fine's wife acknowledges her husband's alleged sexual abuse, while speaking with one of his

accusers, bobby davis. >> bobby is also in denial. it's the things he did. but he somehow put it all through mental telepathy and erased it out of his mind. >> reporter: davis accuses fine. repeatedly molesting him at his home at syracuse at his home and on road trips. >> he grabbed my hand. [ indiscernible ] >> reporter: during the call, lori fine talked about confronting her husband. >> you know what? go find yourself a gay boy. >> reporter: davis also claims he had a sexual relationship with fine's wife when he was 18. and now, there's a third accuser, 23-year-old zach thomaselli, says fine molested him when he was 13. >> he put his hand down my shorts and began to fondle me. but thomaselli may have a

credibility issue. he is facing abuse charges himself and his father says he is lying. on facebook, bayheim said, i deeply regret any statements i may have said that may have been insensitive to victims of abuse. fine has not been charged with any crimes. manuel gallegus, wjz eyewitness news. >> fine says, it prompted them to come forward about their own abuse. dna evidence, baltimore police make a disturbing arrest. alvin wright is charged with arresting a girl inside a house. police were able to match his dna to a sample taken from the victim. we're following breaking news in east baltimore, where the fire department stumbled on a possible meth lab. right now, hazmat crews are at the 3300 block of meckleberry street, along with city police and bge. the fire department responded to reports of a gas leak but

found evidence of a meth lab inside. no one is believed in any danger. but this is still an active scene. serious crash, involving baltimore city school bus tonight. three vehicles collided in the block of west patapsco avenue. you can see the damage from sky eye chopper 13. several were rushed to the hospital. no one on board the school bus was hurt. police impersonators, taking advantage of innocent victims. it's a growing problem. and tonight, police want to warn people in southeast baltimore, about a series of new strikes. wjz is live. megan mccorkell explains why the hispanic community is especially vulnerable. >> they struck three times over the weekend, all in the patterson park neighborhood. now, police are pleading for more information so they can put them behind bars. >> reporter: they've got a badge, a gun, and claim to be city police. they jump out of an suv then rob their victims at gunpoint. >> this is incredibly

troubling. i mean, this is a situation where individuals are posing as police officers, they're preying on the trust that police have with the public. and really, elderly victims are vulnerable. >> reporter: three attacks happened in the paterson park area. the vehicle used is described as either a green ford explorer or blue ford expedition. >> reporter: they are targeting a particularly vulnerable population, hispanic elderly. >> reporter: jean holds monthly crime meetings at the assisi church, sacred house of jesus. the robbers, hoping immigrant victims will be too scared to call police. >> they are preying on their fear of immigration status for those who may not have the appropriate status they need to be here legally in the united states at this time. >> reporter: the news has neighbors on edge. >> just really scary. it's frightening that people would try to attempt something

like that. >> this is incredible. makes you wonder who you can trust. >> reporter: that eroding trust, the reason police want these robbers behind bars. >> reporter: and all of the attacks happened between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. police will step up patrols in that neighborhood, until the impersonators are caught. baltimore police say they will not ask any questions about any victims' immigration status. they just want information on the suspects. a violent carjacker is on the loose in baltimore county. and police want your help. this is the suspect. 26-year-old stephanie lynn schwab. police say she walks up to her victims and asks for a ride. in both cases, a knife was used. one person was cut. and if you have seen her, you're asked to call police. police go to serve a warrant and end up with nearly 10 pounds of marijuana, worth $25,000. officers went to the home in the 800 block of north cathedral in mount vernon.

once there, they smelled the pot and got a warrant. the homeowner was arrested. retailers see a surge from black friday to cyber monday. it is good news for the economy. mike hellgren explains what is behind this year's big success. >> reporter: the sound of success. retailers nationwide are counting their cash, with black friday sales up 6.6%, to a record $11.4 billion at a critical time. >> for the economy? absolutely. extremely. >> i'm very happy that the stores did so well. >> the stores and the lines are crazy off the hook. >> reporter: well-advertised, big deals, whipped shoppers into a frenzy, coast to coast. their average totaled $465. and maryland was no exception. >> although preliminary sales are not in yet, we anticipate that the sales are probably going to follow what the trend is nationally. >> we're optimistic, cautiously. but we'll see that reflected in the sales tax revenues.

>> reporter: big box retailers open their stores earlier than ever. >> with consumers really being frugal, retailers took a chance with opening black friday. they were relieved to see people coming in to see those great deals they were offering this year. >> reporter: this is a make-or- break time for him. >> reporter: do you have optimism in the economy because of this past weekend? >> i think we should all have. >> it's not just brick and mortar stores cashing in. cyber monday means big deals and lots of traffic onlineful. >> expected to grow year over year about 18%, double-digit growth, could be the biggest online shopping day in history. >> reporter: but some economists say with shoppers unleashing all of that pent-up demand now, december may not be quite as rosie. at mondawmin mall, mike hellgren, wjz eyewitness news. >> stocks are way up tonight, thank to that -- thanks to that strong start.

it's 61 degrees and cloudy in central maryland right now. the complete first warning forecast is coming up. good samaritans come to the rescue in the desert. this shows a group of people surrounding an overturned pickup truck. they were able to lift it up and pull a woman free from the cab. two of the others also survived the accident. the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. investigators still are trying to determine a cause. the parents of the florida a&m drum major who died from the alleged hazing are speaking out. robert champion became responsive while traveling with the band on november 19th. his motor says they are filing a lawsuit in order to bring the issue of hazing to the forefront. she says no other parent should have to experience what they're going through. >> this needs to stop.
