wrestle a passenger to the ground landing at bwi airport. >> a tense moment on board a plane for delta as a man became fighting with the passenger seating next to him. two martials try today intervene but he threw another punch. they held him down until the plane landed and he was arrested at the airport. a judge banned him from flying until the case is resolved. >> he's also ordered to attend an inpatient rehab program for alcohol. an accident between a school bus and car snarls rush hour traffic. it happened enrough owings mills boulevard. three people in the car were taken to the hospital. in two hours, gary giordano will walk out of jail, free for

the first time in months. he is the only suspect in the case of missing robin gardner. >> tonight the prosecutor in aruba says he believes gary giordano is lying about what happened but he doesn't have enough evidence to charge him. >> reporter: gary giordano is hours away from freedom after being jailed more than 100 days in aruba, and the only suspect in the death of his lover, robin gardner. they were vacationings on the island when he says she drowned while the two were snorkeling. police didn't buy it but were unable to find any evidence linking him to the murder. two neighbors filed restraining orders that were denied yesterday and his cousin says this:

>> they don't believe his story. they believe that $1.5 million insurance policy that he took out on this woman he barely knew is circumstantial. >> reporter: he's expected to leave aruba but the panel could order his extradition back to the island. he'll come back to a home that looks different on the inside. the fbi raided it in august carrying out boxes of evidence. >> i don't know what happened. i don't think anybody but gary knows what happened. >> reporter: jared will not run from the law. that is one fear that some people have, that giordano instead of coming back to maryland to the united states, that he could flee to another country.

>> thank you. giordano has always maintained his innocence. a judge throw it is book at dr. conrad murray, convicted in the death of michael jackson. he got four years in jail but 4- cylinder likely will not spend nearly that amount of time behind bars. >> reporter: sheriff's deputies escorted michael jackson's personal physician out of the courtroom and back to jail after a judge sentenced him to the maximum punishment for involuntary manslaughter. >> he had absolutely no sense of remorse, absolutely no sense of fault, and is and remains danger. >> reporter: judge michael pastor sentenced conrad murray to four years in prison as prosecutors requested. >> the defendant was playing russian roulette with michael jackson's life every single night. >> reporter: jackson's mother and several of his siblings attended the sentencing. jackson's children did not. >> you can't bring michael

back. he's gone. >> we'll never be satisfied because michael's not coming back. >> reporter: in court to jackson family asked for the maximum sentence. >> we are not here to seek revenge. there is nothing you can do today that will bring michael back. >> reporter: prosecutors blamed murray for giving propofol to jackson and failing to monitor him. the defense wanted probation, arguing he should be judged for his entire life, not just the two months he treated jackson. >> on probation he can do things for the community that he could never do sitting in that little room. >> reporter: officials say because of overcrowding he'll likely serve less than two years behind bars. before leaving court, he blew someone a kiss. >> prosecutors want murray to pay more than $100,348 in restitution to jackson's family. a possible sexual assault

is under investigation. police say a female student reported being sexual assaulted inside a school bathroom yesterday. the suspect also a student has been removed from school. a spokesperson says the school is working with police and sending letters to parents today. frosty the snowman arrested. a man dressed as the holiday figure is facing charges after a strange confrontation with police during an annual holiday parade. we have more on the incident making international headlines. >> reporter: since 1997, ken walsh dressed up as frosty the snowman for the chestertown christmas parade. >> one officer put his knee against my neck and the oh one cuffed me. >> reporter: he said he made a comment that a police dog shouldn't be at the parade, a

prelim handled him. >> i was appalled. >> reporter: he says he was upset because throngs of children watched it all. >> it was for me to be arrested the way i was, thrown in the police station, not released for three hours and it was excessive. >> reporter: but police say he had a meltdown. >> we're not going to be abused in that way. it's just not going to happen. it is a serious matter. as much as everyone wants to make light of it. >> reporter: police say walsh tried to kick the dog and cursed and assaulted an officer. he's been arrested five times this year alone for disorderly conduct or resisting arrest. still he insists he's the victim and says police hi jacked the parade. >> nobody knows if you're a man, william or whatever you are. >> reporter: he's planning a civil suit against the police

prosecutors and police continue to be frustrated after cases fall apart because witnesses have been threatened. now better ways to protect those who need to testify in open court. >> reporter: once the helicopters are gone, evidence bagged i, police tape is down and squad cars have left, these detectives have note pads full of information and perhaps the names of witnesses who not only saw what happened but will walk into open court and before the accused, family friends and jury, will testify what was seen. in baltimore, witness intimidation can short circuit those plans. today we were live inside a

first of its kind gathering. prosecutors and police traded notes on how to protect witnesses. >> can it be done? >> absolutely it can be done t. bottom line is it starts with the communication and trust. >> reporter: the witnesses have to trust that the prosecutor will protect them. >> that's really why we put this thing together. >> reporter: 160 people here at city state's attorney greg bernstein's invitation. >> nuts and bolts, roll you have your sleeves, practical solution. the best way to learn is through the practices in other jurisdictions. >> reporter: most of this day was closed to outsiders. what solutions they exchanged don't need to be known by the bad guys. >> i thought of a couple ideas they mentioned we might want the try and tweak a little. >> reporter: they don't track how many cases are affected by witness intimidation but they

says it can affect any athlete in a sport where you push off from your toes like tennis, rugby, even running. >> somebody land on your heel like this and bends your toe back like that, that tears it. >> reporter: in 2007, jonathan ogden suffered a severe case of it and ended his career with the ravens the next year. >> a big guy and little toe, it can end a career. >> reporter: this season ben grogs was sidelined for weeks because of a toe injury. >> it needs anti- inflammatories, ice, rest. >> and dr. howard says most turf toe injuries heal within four to six weeks. he advises patients who play sports to avoid playing with shoes with wore out soles. our feet need that support on the heels and on the toes as well. >> four to six weeks?

shore but particularly northeast maryland and all of delaware, southeast pa and all of jersey getting rain. that's going to continue for the next few hours. here we have cleared out. we have clouds and maybe a brief shower overnight or late tonight. for the next several hours, we have cleared that so looks like a nice night. if you're heading out, don't look for precipitation. we are looking at 50 degrees here, 48 over in easton, 37 and chilly in garrett county, maybe an inch of wet snow tonight and another possible tomorrow. temperatures will stay in the low to mid-30s. went be that cold here. 50 here right now. this is just about as close to normal as you can get. 52 annapolis, 51 washington now. southerly winds, not a strong

cold component of the air but the cold air has gone south and coming back around with low pressure. tomorrow wind are out of the west but low pressure is back out west and you can see the rain this morning, little bit of cold air, even snow across missouri. had snow flakes in birmingham, alabama, and some snow in michigan. right now it's beginning to pick up snow over portions of indiana, michigan and some mountains in southwest virginia. the bulk of the rain is off north and northeast of us. we are looking at cooler conditions but sunny to partly sunny and drier, particularly on thursday and friday into the weekend. slight warmup again as this moves off, wind go back more to the southwest and no super cold air in this forecast. normal, west winds with temps

where maryland excels as well. >> reporter: the export business grew, translating to jobs at home. >> we'll probably hire 30, 40 more jobs at home which will because of this trip turn into full-time jobs. >> the papers are full of story after story of maryland and the united states losing jobs to countries like china and india. what we need to do a better job of doing as a people is emphasizing those stories where we're creating jobs. >> reporter: on a conference call this morning t governor reported two maryland businesses so far landed contract in this india. >> there are huge markets here. i do know that businesses that are successful in this new and changing economy will only be successful because they access themselves to these markets. >> businessmen with the governor on the trip say the mission creates opportunities

herman cain is reportedly reassessing his run for the white house after nabbingizations. >> reporter: herman cain is trying to determine if a

nabbingization will drive supporters away. a georgia woman said he shad a 13-year relationship with cain. hours before, he was already denying the allegations. >> i have nothing to hide. i have done nothing wrong. >> reporter: on a conference call tuesday, he told staffers the allegations from white and other women have taken a toll on his family. he was leading national polls until the first accusation surfaced in late october. since then he slipped from 30% to around 13%. newt gingrich told cbs news this doesn't mean cain is out of the race. >> i was supposed to be dead in june and july. i'm not going to declare anybody dead. any candidate can recover. >> reporter: gingrich is gaining ground. the form earn house speaker is leading most of the national polls. gingrich is on a three-day swing through south carolina, fighting hard to show voters

million. similar lawsuits have already been dismissed. the doctor committed suicide in 2008 before he could be charged. back to you. >> as part of the settlement, the u.s. doesn't admit any fault in the incident. a search is underway for a woman whose crime spree stretches from the washington, d.c. area up to baltimore county. >> reporter: it all started when a suspect asks this shopper for a ride. that shopper had no idea she was talking to a wanted criminal. 26-year-old stephanie schwabb charms a woman in this parking lot, asking for a ride to the shoppers warehouse down the street. that's when police say she pulled a weapon and tried stealing the car. >> the victim grabbed the knife and he was cut on the hand. >> it's sad and i hope they

catch her. >> i was ready to pull my door closed when you came up on me. >> reporter: best known as the blonde bandit, also wanted for two bank robberies in the d.c. area and carjacking in the parking lot of niemann marcus. that vehicle was recovered at the baltimore county safeway. >> we are asking drivers to be cautious, not authorize people you don't know. >> reporter: there is a warrant for her arrest, charges of attempted kidnapping and assault. >> she admits she's also a former member of the gang ms- 13. police in west baltimore are also on the lookout for an inmate who went missing while on house arrest. 23-year-old cornelius moore left his home overnight, visiting his one-year sentence for possession of an illegal firearm. police say he could still be in

the area. if you have information on him, call police. a jogger is attacked in this park in davidsonville. the man was jocking when he saw a man walking three dogs. two got loose, one bit him. animal control captured both dogs. they had wounds from fighting and one died after being captured. police are looking for the third dog add the man walking them. some don't survive it an those who do carry the memory for a lifetime. violence is taking a toll on young even as law enforcement struggles to continue. >> reporter: in baltimore, violence claims children all too frequently. stray "bullitts" leave a 5-year- old girl brain damaged and 14- year-old boy dead. a rapest drags a 13-year-old girl into an abandoned house, crimes which spark outrage. >> leave the babies alone. give them a chance to grow up.

>> reporter: attorney general eric holder forms a task force hand the chairman is joe torre, who opened the task force's first memory in baltimore with memories of a violent father. >> threatening my mom with a gun. the fear my dad brought to my house in abusing my mom was very personal, very real. >> reporter: rosa says she was abused by her husband and fears what that will do this to the her children. >> i fear he'll go up to be like his dad and that's something i don't want. >> reporter: research indicates 60% of children expose today violent crimes or abuse, most often in the home. >> kids need to know that violence isn't a secret we have the keep. we have to speak up for them and help them speak up for themselves.

shocking surveillance video captures a shooting that leaves a toddler injured. three hooded men opened fire on a group of people gathered to film a music video. 8 people were taken to the hospital and six were treated

for injuries. police are still searching for those suspects. transportation officials say a medical plane crashed just a few feet from several homes outside chicago. the patient, his wife and pilot were all killed. two other passengers are expected to survive. the pilot reported fuel problems just before the plane went down. i rainian students stormed the british embassy. both protesters raided a british ambassador's home. >> reporter: mass i crowds rallied outside the british embassy as angry student protesters stormed the building. they rushed past guards@inside and smash add framed picture of queen elizabeth. dream stators wave evidence flags and some through fire bombs. later they attacked a second embassy nearby. they took six employees
