police shoot a man after they say he refused to drop a knife. details on what led to a

violent confrontation. good afternoon, here is what people are talking about. police involved shooting in baltimore. police were called to the home for a family disturbance before the situation got worse. mike hellgren is live. >> reporter: good afternoon don and everybody. police are not identifying the officer who fired the shots at this point. the man who was hit survived and in critical but stable condition at last check. investigation is underway after police shot a man on south morally last night. they say he became unruly and argumentive and unarmed. >> this individual haded a knife, he began to advance police officers. police officers asked the suspect to drop the knife, he did not comply and was shot numerous times. >> reporter: police have not said how many times the man was shot and he was taken to a hospital. his sister told wjz's news

partner, her brother is schizophrenic but has not been violent in the past. no officers or family members were injured. police say the confrontation happened in a bedroom upstairs. live in southwest baltimore, mike hellgren, wjz 13. stay with wjz 13 for the latest on the shooting with constant updates on wjz.com. police in montgomery county are investigating an officer involved shooting from over the weekend. a 19 year old stabbed a man at a gas station and took off in his car crashed it away and jumped out and assaulted an officer as she was tasing him. a second officer arrived and shot the carjacker dead. the officers involved are on routine leave. a man is in custody following a robbery. it happened an hour ago outside the university union. they sent out a campus wide text message warning students

and staff about the danger. a suspect was arrested and no one was hurt. johns hopkins and pepsi inked a deal that could have thousands of pepsi employees coming here. the world's second largest soda company is going to pay for workers and dependents to get certain surgeries done at hopkins. it covers cardiac and complex joint proceeders and open to pepsi-co employees. after a win, the ravens have taken over the afc. here is sports director mark viviano. >> reporter: the ravens maybe the best team in the afc. the indianapolis colts are the worst. that mismatch played out as expected. for the first time ever against the colts , the ravens had the better qb. manning is hurt.

in health watch report, breast cancer patients can suffer from memory and concentration problems years after treatment. a study from the american cancer society looks at the effect of chemotherapy and radiation on patients brains. they find treatments can cause cognitive problems. memory loss and concentration problems for up to three years. could be a promising treat for people who suffer from he
