. division champs, the ravens get a break before hosting the playoff game. here is what people are talking about today, the ravens flying into the post season and will soon play another game here at home and wjz is the place for complete coverage as they continue to march towards the super bowl. we have more on how the ravens locked up the first round week off with a big win over the bengals. >> the ravens did struggle on the road and the game at cincinnati had struggles, but baltimore brought home a win and now they are in a good position to bring home the super bowl. it was a 17-$3 lead and the

bengals were battling back and may have taken the lead, but there was a fumble that was recoverd and then, a 51 touchdown run and the ravens won -- 24-16 and baltimore was the division champs. >> i'm so proud of these guys for that. this is one championship, we have the conference and world championship. >> to be able to win the division on the road, to secure the home may off game, the feeling in that locker room is like no other. we have a great coaching staff and organization and had we win, everybody wins. i can only think about what the city of baltimore is doing now. >> the ravens get the number $2 seed and they will host a playoff game on january 14th and they will play houston, pittsburgh or denver, determined by the first-round

the crown molding caught on fire and then flames spread. even with all the damage, no injuries reported. several pets were not that fortunate, they were treated for burns and the cause of the fire is big investigated. >> most of the displaced families will stay with relatives. the fire officials are looking into the cause of a fire in north baltimore. this empty home filled with smoke just after 5:00 last night and dozens of firefighters worked to contain the flames and the roof was padly burned. no one was hurt. police in montgomery county are trying to figure out what caused a serious vehicle crash that left two people dead. they said that a driver lost control of an s.u.v. and hit a fence and then a tree. two passengers were dead at the scene and the driver is in serious condition in the

hospital. the fewest murders in years, 196 in 2011, the lowest numbers of deaths in this city in 30 years, in 1993, 353 people were killed in the city. it is a full day of campaigning before the iowa caucus. mitt romney has the lead over the other candidates, but most of the caucus goers are not sure who they will support. we have more from iowa. >> my middle son, josh. >> he brought the family to the rally to launch the last push before the caucuses tomorrow. >> get out and vote and get your friends to go. >> the polls show that the massachusetts above is leading the tight race and then behind him, ron paul. he spent the weekend at home.

. another night of expected arson fires in l.a. over a dozen other fires were reported in carports and garages this morning. police are not calling the man a suspect. a man hunt is under way in washington state after the fatal shooting of a park ranger there. the 24-year-old shot and killed the ranger on a traffic stop on new year's day and they think he is hiding some where near a national park and could be connected to a shooting at a new year's party in seattle. arizona police are recovering the bodies of two

young boys that thrownd in a canal. the police said that the three brothers were walking near the water and the youngest, an 8- year-old fell in and his brothers tried to pull him out and they fell in as well. only one boy was able to get himself out. none of them knew how to swim. coming up on wjz eyewitness news at noon, it is not a bad time to have the day off with all the sunshine outside. the forecast is coming up in just minutes. the stock markets are closed today for the extended new year's ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

. the 90-day count down has started. i counted down until april 1st. it is not really spring, but at that point, it could really be in the 30s in early to mid april, but the sun is high enough in the sky to take care of problems that happen in that order. >> 90 days. >> the 90-day count down is going. about right now. let's take a look at the conditions. it is cold out there. it is the first shot of cold that we had this season. it is not the last. it will be short lived and there are the winds. they are steady in the last few hours. the gusts are about 25 and 39 right now.

it will feel more like 30 or 31. it will be dry and be cold. finger-splinting cold for the first time of the season. the barometer is out. the temperatures -- low to mid 40s in the east and ocean city. going for the high of 42 today and the lake effect, you know, it will be interesting to the west later on. you may see a flurry, but it will not be an issue, but a winter storm warning, it is just a matter of time before the strong winds really start to pick up the great lake moisture and the lake effect snow is down on the western slope of the mountains just out to our west. it is going to stay windy
