hi, everybody. i'm mary bubala. >> and i'm vic carter. kai is off today. here's what people are talking about. >> they are talking about a winter mess. a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain is on the way. take a look at what the storm dumped in iowa. people spent the day shoveling out, while drivers dealt with slick roads and low visibility. now, it is not going to be that bad in maryland. but we are still bracing for potentially dangerous conditions. a winter weather advisory takes effect for the state in just a few hours. let's go straight to bob turk in the first warning weather center, tracking live doppler radar and the impact of the storm. bob? >> i'll tell you the truth, i'd rather deal with snow than freezing rain. but looks like when you see a bit of everything. right now, that storm going through chicago, milwaukee, detroit, approaching cleveland. that will all continue to move off to the east, late tonight, probably after midnight.
