talking about today, the two aide workers held hostage by pirates freed in a raid by u.s. special forces, that has the president once again praising american troops, here is tina kraus with the latest. >> reporter: the same u.s. naive seal team that killed osama bin laden carried out the raid, they rescued them. both were working for a danish aid group. members of seal team 6 parachuted in during the middle of the night and surprised the pirates. officials confirmed they killed 9. the hostages were not harmed and no casualties among the special forces. president obama congratulated defense secretarily on panetta before his state of the union address tuesday night. >> good job tonight. >> but the president made no mention of the raid in the speech. afterward he called buchanan's father to report his daughter was free. intelligence reports indicated

create jobs. now he is taking his message on the road with stops in iowa, arizona and nevada. >> a wild end to a burglary spree in northern baltimore county, police say a man fleeing crashed then died. wjz is live, mike hellgren has new information on the investigation. good afternoon, mike. >> reporter: good afternoon, jessica, good afternoon, everybody. that burglary suspect who did crash and die aaron mccoy , jr., had a lengthy criminal record especially for his age, he just turned 20 and had already been found guilty of a large theft and eluding police. >> wow, what a crash. >> police say a breeze especially burglary spree ended yesterday with this tangled mess of cars along delaney valley road. investigators tell wjz they spotted a get away car wanted in a series of burglaries in northern baltimore county and tried to pull it over put the driver took off. only slowing so one of the men inside could jump out. minutes later that driver, 20-

year-old aaron nathaniel mccoy , jr., crashed and died, dotty kelso hard the commotion. >> a shame illustrate it had to happen. part of the times we live in. >> police tell us they did not chase anyone. >> a high speed chase is a risky enterprise and takes skill for officers to embark on one. it was a moot point in this case. this was a situation where app officer tried to pull someone officer, he didn't comply. at this point we pulled back and decided we would follow it from the air. >> besides mccoy, three other people were involved, no one had life-threatening injuries. >> the two vehicles actually locked and then collide a truck that is in the opposite lane. the whole mess crashes into a telephone pole. >> authorities caught the man who fled the car before the crash and are questioning him.

now your complete forecast and the first warning of severe weather. >> welcome back, everybody, what a beautiful shot. and it was beautiful yesterday. today not quite as warm but still comfortable. 45 at noon in baltimore right now. look at the 40s across the man. compared to yesterday at this time we are 10 degrees cooler but still way above average with those temperatures still rising this afternoon. so the little bit of a breeze out of the northwest that has knocked down some of our temperatures. today from yesterday. take a look upstream. not that much cold air right now. the arctic air is locked up for the time being. it will return later on in this forecast but not quite yet. here is this next one we are dealing with. coming from the south and will pick up moisture. the thing is it is going to move in late tonight, early tomorrow morning when temperatures are just around freezing as marty was explaining earlier. we think this is going to be a rain event but the initial part of the storm may start out icy

in today's wjz health watch a new study shows an acid reflux drug does not help treat asthma in children, the drug is often prescribed to children to help relief their symptoms. the american lung association conducted a trial and found the drug can actually increase the risk for upper respiratory infections, bronchitis and sore throats. researches have found compounds in chemicals can affect them. they are used in fast food pack inch, none stick cookware and waterproof clothing. the school says they may lower
