wild run from police. police shot and killed mon pete chona after he stole a police car and threatened an officer. it started in baltimore county when he refused to pull of for a traffic stop, instead crashed his car, then police say he stole the police car. after another pursuit she was shot and killed in the city. >> investigators released more details about that wrong way crash on route 50 that killed four people. ron matz has the toxicology results. >> reporter: they say both drivers were under the influence when they collided head on. britney walker was driving the wrong way when she slammed into another car. 4 people were killed in that crash. police say the did receive 911 calls but a car going the wrong direction but they were not able to catch up to it before it crashed.

jessica, back to you. >> ron, thank you. investigators say a small amount of marijuana was also found in walker's car. >> prince george's county police make an arrest in their man dead in a well mystery. detectives say lynnwood johnson has confessed to killing lenny harris, police say they two each other and robbery was the motive. his body was the one found in a well in fort washington. he had been shot in the head. he was a well-known activist. the four remaining republican presidential hopefuls are all out west today following mitt romney's convincing win in florida. in spite of that newt gingrich remains confident. here is randall ping pinkston with the latest. >> reporter: mitt romney is on a roll. he says he is in a much better spot than 10 days ago. >> i have a good path ahead. i think if i can continue to

police are searching for the gunman behind a brazen double shooting in st. louis, take a look at this video shot at a gas station last saturday. police say the gunman opened fire at a vehicle as it sat at a gas pump. two people were killed. they say they don't think they chose their target at random. >> it appeared to by this was a -- these guys -- these victims were targeted, three gunmen came up from the east side of the building, ran up on the vehicle and opened fire on the car. >> no arrests have been made and police do not have any suspects in custody. a third person in the car was not hurt. >> two new jersey police officers are caught on camera risking their lives to save a man from a burning vehicle. check out what the dash cam video shows from monday night. when they arrive they found a man trapped in the driver seat of a car on fire. wow, really on fire. they were able to get to the car -- get the car door open and pull the man to safety.

no word yet on why the car caught fire, one of tonight liberal arts colleges in the country is in hot water for faking students ast scores, an administrator now admits to exaggerating the scores sent off to college rank in surveys and doing so for the past 5 years, they helped the school gain a top 10 spot in the u.s. news and world report annual ratings. despite the scandal many students say they are not too concerned. >> i think the whole entire system like revolves around the sats, like there is so much pressure to get students into college and the student had to like in the first place feel the need to like create those scores that aren't like accurate. >> the administrator responsible has resigned and according to the school's president many scores were only inflated 20 points. >> give or take, what is 20 points on the sat. still ahead, a winter warm up is in full swing as we take a live look outside. your updated forecast is two and a half minutes away.

on there, that is why we are seeing shaking, that is going to bring in cooler air but we are still way above average. wait until you see this forecast. here is a cold front going through that has kicked up the wins, there is not a whole lot to it. a couple of showers earlier today and maybe through the afternoon. the winds are turning around so the northwest that will knock down temperatures slightly, 64 at noon here in baltimore. we are already over 20 degrees above average and still going up. 57 in cumberland, 49 in oakland. here is the united states. we have been tracking this to show you there hasn't been that much arctic air. it is locked up to the north. so even though it is cooling down in chicago, it is still 39 degrees, so it is not that much of a hit. for most of this week that arctic air is locked up north and we will run above average. wait until we show you the five- day-forecast later. but here is that front.

there is another front in here that is going to affect us. it could bring us rain tomorrow before it gets out of here but again not a huge event for us and temperatures at that time will start to come down. so here that is second front comes in, it gets out of here. here is the cooler air on friday, highs still in the 50s, in the 40s by the weekend, today it is a warm 1 out there, up to about jeff degrees, the record is in the 70s so we are probably not going to break a record, tonight only down to 42, that is our average high this time of year. tomorrow 54 for a high, so still way above average even though we are not talking 60s and records, we are still talking 50s, so not too shabby, we will have that 5 day coming up. >> wow. >> i love it. thank you. >> who doesn't? still to come science fiction no more. hear about a new treatment that could let doctors read your minute. it is coming up in health watch. >> and wjz 13 is always on.
