about tonight. >> reporter: the outcry indicates it heard that ear full loud and clear. there was no running for the controversy created by susan g. komen for the cure when the association pulled a funding from planned parenthood. >> i think we saw susan g. komen trying to pull political impression. >> it's really critical funding and it would have been very devastating to not just planned parenthood but the women that we serve. >> reporter: komen issued a statement saying quote, we want to apoll apologize to the american society. >> i see that as a sister group. >> reporter: komen broke the bond. >> planned parenthood using the

overwellingly amount of money to deal for treatment. >> reporter: komen raises the most money of any association in the country. planned parenthood is the largest provider of reproductive services. >> it is what we believe susan komen is all about. it's why we walk 60 miles. planned parenthood says it received $30 million in three days during this controversy. but critics of planned parenthood say that's just further proof it doesn't need the $700,000 a year that the komen foundation provides. >> thank you, kai. planned parenthood of maryland says the organization provides free breast exam to clients. a corvette burst into flames tonight. you can see some explosions from sky high chopper 13. lit shut down the highway until firefighters put out the flames, no one was hurt in the

fire. a young woman was hit by the high speed trail. passengers tell wjz the woman ran in front of the bus on st. paul street and the driver just could not stop on time. the impact shattered the drivers windshield. investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the crash. a man believes their son's killer is using facebook from prison. megan mccorkel has the story. >> reporter: they say he's ever been talking to the star witness in his case. this is the profile picture on charles johnson's facebook page behind bars. johnson stole a car and slammed into a vehicle killing three teenagers including 18-year-old kevin thomas. >> marcus got killed, how can

he have life in jail, have a phone and be on facebook. >> reporter: the postings say the phone is coming from a mobile phone. at one point talking about his case, thomas writes, take a dime and the charges disappear. they say he's even had interaction with a witness. >> what good is a witness that they're supposed to be testifying against. >> reporter: baltimore city reports, they're pouring their full resources into these accusations. say say if the accusations are true, johnson will be prosecuted. just last year the division of corrections seized more than 13,000 cell phones from the prison system, including 456 from the baltimore detention center. for the thomas family, the facebook page is a painful reminder of their loss. >> we have no life because they

took our son. where's justice in the end? >> reporter: prison officials tell us they have not found a cell phone on johnson behind bars. they say without that phone they can't really prove it's him posting online. >> all right, thank you megan. this week charles johnson was found not guilty on three counts of manslaughter. he was convicted of lesser charges. >> bail denied, four men are convicted of a murder in townson center. an extensive amount of surveillance cameras help make the case. all four of the men charged with murdering a teenager at townson town center will stay behind bar, a judge denied their bail. in court, wjz learned more about the surveillance video that police credit with solving the case. >> zoom in on it. >> reporter: it's part of an extensive network of 200 cameras at the mall, upgraded during the murder of a teacher

here. prosecutors said the video they recovered in this case does not show the actual shooting. it does show the accused shooter tyrone brown walking through the mall wearing a mask. they say campbell the man who first spotted the victim was introduced twice by detectives before they arrested him. brandon's lawyer. >> i wouldn't say he's cooperative but he came in to speak about homicide in the space. the entire family is shocked he has been arrested on this. >> reporter: this is a childhood picture of the victim, roger pritchett jr. his father says he's devastated but is relieved. >> he's my only son, i love him and i miss him. i see his face every night. >> reporter: the accused shooter told the judge, i was hoping that i can get jail so i

could seek appropriate representation. >> the shooter could get the death penalty. at townson town center. wjz news. all of the men charged have prior criminal records. a soldier accused of sharing military secrets with wikileaks is now facing a court marshal. the military decided that bradley manning should stand trial for allegedly sharing more than 700,000 government do you means with wikileaks. if he is convicted, manning could spend the rest of his life in prison. well while we enjoy a mild winter, in colorado a monster storm iscreating white out conditions. this same storm stretches as far south as new mexico and blizzard warnings into parts of kansas, wyoming and parts of kansas. it is expected to move out

tomorrow. a big wind for lance armstrong. prosecutors closed the case of doping allegations. federal prosecutors ended their investigation into armstrong used performance enhancing drugs. the seven time tour de france champion has denied any accusations that he cheated. prosecutors did not say why they decided to drop the charges. the u.s. anti doping agency is still investigating allegations of doping in bicycling. >> i saw it in his refrigerator. i saw him inject it more than one time. >> you saw lance armstrong inject epo? >> yeah, like we all did. >> armstrong released a statement tonight saying he's gratified that prosecutors decided to close the case

without any charges. a great january job's report has investors running to wall street. unemployment drops to 1.3% in lowest level in three years. that news sent a jolt to wall street s & p gained 19. and the nasdaq gained 45 points to hit an 11 year high. ravens tickets won't be getting more expensive. the team decided not to raise taxes for next season. that's three straight years prices for ravens games have stayed the same. the average price is about $130. the infield will be rocking at the preakness this year with two big musical acts. grammy nominees maroon five and whiz khalifa will be

river and stream for reynolds. police say they have doubts the child was kidnapped. they believe her father and others are hiding details. charges come four days after teacher mark barenz was arrested on 23 counts of child abuse. police say their investigation into the school still has a long way to go. a howard county rock climbing coach will have four years in prison for having sexual contact with a 14-year- old girl. michael lions was arrested in june for having sex with a girl at the columbia gym and also

comes in. recently the football star made pleas for donors to come forward. he's also linked a picture of martinez with a website that looks for matching donors. >> that attention to the crisis helps tremendously. >> reporter: only 20% of people waiting for donations will receive one this year. 30% will die waiting. the attention brady is bringing for the need of kidney donors is invaluable. >> it could help saving several other people in addition to tom martinez. >> several dozen people have come forward wanting to be martinez donor. those who don't match, could donate to others. >> more transplants from these individuals. >> reporter: doctors say they are currently screening possible donors for martinez, and he could receive a transplant within the next few months. monique griego. >> reporter: the average person

right now three countys in extreme southwest nebraska still under a blizzard warning. north eastern sections of colorado. western kansas as well as me -- nebraska. mild air coming in front of this storm. it's going to weaken, a warm front is going to form down to our south and that warm air will be riding over the cooler drier air that's going to be around our region tomorrow and tomorrow night. so we'll see clouds on the increase because that warm air is lifted up and creates clouds. look for a little rain. if it gets chilly enough on sunday morning. once that low passes the winds go back to the northwest it can bring in just enough cold air perhaps for a little bit, a few hours of a little wet snow, sleet mixture west of the city. along the pennsylvania border it may be just a dusting. that's what we're looking for in the city. don't expect to see much of anything. because a lot of cool air is
