justice for yeardley. >> the man accused of killing the lacrosse star is about to go on trial. hello i'm don scott. >> i'm jessica kartalija. >> here is what people are talking about today. the murder trial of huguely underway. the former uva lacrosse player is charged with killing another and his former girlfriend, yeardley love. adam may is live. >> reporter: good afternoon, jury selection is underway now. it is a tedious process in the murder trial against huguely. he is sitting in the courtroom, wearing a shirt and tie, paying close attention to the proceedings, a montgomery county native, accused of killing love from cockeysville. that murder happened two years ago and stuned this college town. prosecutors say he beat his ex- girlfriend to death that took place in her apartment at the university of virginia.

this case is really capturing the nation's attention. almost 200 reporters from across the country. this has put a spotlight on the issues of alcohol abuse, college campus, and domestic abuse among young adults. the jury selection should wrap up tomorrow. we should see opening arguments late dos or possibly on -- late tuesday or possibly on wednesday. more later on today on eye witness news. >> we promise complete coverage of the huguely murder trial with adam may reporting live today at 5:00 and 6:00. back here , the second robocall trial is set to begin. ron matz is live with the latest on this high profile fraud case, good afternoon. >> former political consultant henson is accused of trying to suppress the african american vote in the last election. henson was buying buying

robocalls for eric will haves campaign k telling voters that martin o'malley and barack obama had already won even though polls would not be closed for hours. eric will haves former campaign manager was found guilty of authorizing the gals and scheduled to be sentenced next week. thank you. henson's trial was postponed last november after a judge recused himself because he was appointed by governor o'malley. deliberation continue in arundel in the trial of a prisoner accused of murdering a corrections officer. mcginn was stab odd to death in 2006. lee stevens is one of two charged in the mudder. stevens could be the first person sentenced to die under the capital punishment law. a medical examiner in washington state will perform autopsies on josh powell and two sons today. yesterday all three of them died in a house explosion that police say was no accident.

powell was a person of interest in his wife's disappearance. >> reporter: flames rage through a home after it blew up in washington. police found the husband and two sons of a missing utah woman. police say josh powell planed the explosion and may have used accelerants to fuel the flames. >> the information we gathered and how actions of josh and how fast this fire is burnt, we believe this is intentional. >> reporter: neighbors say it shook their homes. >> it was just so real. >> you could see the insulation was everywhere. >> reporter: the home exploded moments after social worker brought 7-year-old charles and 5-year-old brandon for a supervised visit. powell blocked the worker from getting in to the home and the house went up before help arrived.

powell sent his lawyer an email saying i'm sorry, good-bye. a judge denied him custody of sons wednesday, powell is a person of interest in the 2009 disappearance of his wife susan from the utah home. attorney for the family says powell's kids started to open up about the night susan vanished. >> they had gone camping, their mother was this the trunk. later, their mom and dad walked out in to the desert and mommy got lost. >> reporter: fire investigators will sift through the charred rubble to try to piece together what caused the fire and the final moment of the young boys' lives. >> the boys had been in the custody of susan's parents. last week powell pleaded with the judge to return the children to him. a house fire in philadelphia left 7 people injured including three firefighters. firefighters had to pull two

people from the 3-story building sunday morning. the residents and two firefighters were all treated for minor injuries, a third firefighter was rushed to the hospital with burns. he remains in critical but stable condition. an run call county could be the first subdivision to be able to with hold tax income refunds. a proposal would require those with outstanding arrest warrants to surrender first. while they don't want to stop the police from chasing down people, critics say the bill would lead to government bureaucracy, not more arrests. mondays are not the favorite day of the week for some people. the sun is trying to warm up things after a seasonal but chilly morning. marty bass is standing by in the outback and bernadette woods in the first warning weather center. good afternoon, we were talking about this at the

protests in cairo continue for a 5th day, egyptian court is prosecuting dozens of workers from nongovernmental organizations including 19 americans. the charges are unclear, it's part of an investigation in to nonprofit group promoting democracy. egypt is blaming the people for the unrest in the country even after mubarak was ousted. >> the military authorities and civilian leaders in egypt are not telling the truth when they say they want to lay the ground work for democracy. >> hilary clinton has warned if egypt continues to target these groups it could jeopardize $2 billion in aide this year. a toddler eats cocaine left on the floor of a hotel room.
