the dramatic video of the police interview of george huguely. jessica kartalija has more on what huguely said, just hours after yeardley love's body was found. >> reporter: love's family, huguely, and at least two jurors were in tears today, as they heard what happened when huguely learned his former girlfriend was dead. >> reporter: former university of virginia lacrosse player george huguely admitted he wrestled with and shoved yeardley love, but never punched or strangled her. this, from a police interrogation video, played for jurors inside charlottesville district court. the footage was recorded hours after love's body was discovered in her apartment in may of 2010. huguely told police he had gone to talk to love about their on again-off again relationship. but insists he didn't inflict lethal injuries. detectives told huguely, love was dead, asking, did you hit her head into the wall? did you crack it?

. >> reporter: >> no, sobbed huguely. you guys said she had a black eye and a bump on her head. she's not dead. i didn't. i did not. i never did anything that could do that to her. i refuse to believe that because nothing i did to her that night could do that to her. >> reporter: in the courtroom, huguely and at least two jurors sobbed as that tape was played. this comes just one day after former university of north carolina lacrosse player mike burns testified he and love hooked up during their college years but never dated. burns also told jurors at a party less than three months before the party, thatly barged into a room -- that he barged about into a room after hearing screams of "help me, help me." he claims he found huguely with love in a choke hold. huguely got off and love fled the room, saying "thank you so

experiences we've had over the last few weeks. and we have another one that is going to move into the region. in a pretty short time now, and stay with us for at least the first part of the weekend. what you're seeing is the leading edge of the system that is going to start bringing moisture from the southwest. that eventually will start to bring area wide. look to the top left of your screen, and you're going to see a front that will bring in the cold air. those two combined will bring us a bit of a taste of winter. and it's going to happen pretty much overnight. right now, our watches and advisories go in effect for most of the state. that's the lighter color there, at midnight tonight. stay with us through tomorrow night, at 7:00 p.m. the dark blue out in the far western part of the state, allegheny county and garrett county, that is a winter storm warning that goes into effect at 9:00 p.m. what we're expecting out of all of this, as it starts to move on through, is basically a coating to an inch across much of the 95 corridor, from cecil county right on down. as you start to move across the top tier of the state, from northern harford county towards, say, hagerstown.

they have been on that deck. >> reporter: prosecutors complained neighbors complain about the accused sex offender, watching from his deck, as children play at the elementary school behind his house. >> because of allegations and perceptions that have tried to have been created of me. no, i can't take our dog on my deck and throw out biscuits to him. >> reporter: the former coach is under house arrest, accused of abusing young boys for over a decade. prosecutors argued in court, he should be confined to the inside of his home. >> reporter: prosecutors also asked that jurors for sandusky's upcoming trial, be selected from outside the county because so many here have ties to penn state. >> we want the verdict to be not only an actually valid verdict, but one perceived to be so as well. >> reporter: with his wife dottie at his side, she talked about sandusky's request to be able to see his grandchildren.

an investigation is under way, after a four-vehicle crash in louisiana kills five people. it happened in the westbound lanes of interstate 10 near laplace. state police say a car was driving the wrong way and collided head-on with a vehicle, carrying four people. troopers received many calls about the car going the wrong way but couldn't get to it in time. prince harry may soon be deployed to afghanistan, after finishing his pilot training. the pripsz qualified as an apache attack helicopter pilot,

graduating as the best copilot gunner in his class. he's been training for the past 18 months. in december, he reportedly said he would be deployed to afghanistan for a second time. but the government is not confirming that just yet. in celebration of black history month, the ymca of central maryland is honoring dr. martin luther king jr.'s legacy. today, they held an annual tribute to the civil rights leader. andrea fujii has that story from northeast baltimore. ♪ [ music ] >> all generations, celebrating what would have been dr. martin luther king jr.'s 83rd birthday. >> he's a black leader that fought for everybody's rights. >> reporter: organizers say dr. king had a special connection with the y, and his message of equality still rings true. >> it's only natural that an organization like the y would recognize dr. king and keep his

s&p is down 9. and nasdaq is off 23. let's go to new york right now, where alexis christoforous has tonight's cbs money watch update. stocks fell after greece hit a road block on its way to a critical international bailout. greece needs a second round of loans to avoid missing a bomb payment next month and defaulting. five government officials have resigned to protest european union demands in exchange for a bailout. a new report shows consumer confidence among americans slipped this month, as rising gas prices took a bite out of people's budget. wall street is worried that could cause people to spend less and slow the economic recovery. and another troubling investigation involving toyota. federal safety regulators are looking into reports of fires in the driver's side doors of 2007 toyota camrys. and rav 4 crossover suvs. the national highway traffic safety administration says the problem could affect as many as 800,000 vehicles. but so far, no vehicles have been recalled. no injuries have been reported.

taking a live look outside. at a -- i guess that's a glimpse of the sun they were saying? >> yes. i think it is. >> i don't know. >> looks like a ufo. >> exactly. that could just be about anything. >> you know, it really could be. that is really telling the story because the system that is moving into our area is coming in clouds first. and it's starting to mask the sun. it's starting to disappear behind them. we really won't see the sun behind them, until probably sunday. early sunday, sunday afternoon. walk you through the area. right now, we have moisture moving across the region. most of this not hitting the ground. but i'll draw your attention to the front that is out to the west. and the moisture that is just around the carolinas. and our advances to give you an idea of what is happening. this is the 1:00 p.m.

to 1:00 a.m. position of the front that is out to the west, moving in our direction. that's going to gring with it -- bring with it the colder air. this pressure system is going to turn into a bit of a coastal storm. but it's going to start moving on past us. those two are eventually going to join forces to bring snow across most of the area. but the bulk of the area is going to happen after this system gets past us. but had is going to -- this is going to play out over the next 12 to 28 hours or so. that's the reason we're watching. and that's the reason there are winter weather advisories in effect. we have an advisory going into effect, from midnight tomorrow, to 7:00 p.m. and a winter storm warning in effect through 9:00 p.m. right now, 45 degrees. we have to get much colder before we'll see any snow out of this. rain is going to be on the leading edge of this system. 43% relative humidity, with a north wind at 5 miles per hour. 30.02 is the barometer reading. 40s across most of the state. that's going to upon had us because we're too warm right

now to support snow. 40 in westminster. winds are coming from the north, that's bringing in cold air. but this is what we have to watch as it starts to play out. moisture coming from the southwest. that's bringing with it all of the moisture that this system has to work with. and then the colder air is coming in. that is coming in with colder, arctic air from the west and northwest. it's the first time the jet stream has dipped far enough down to allow for that cold air to move on in. we have bitter cold air to the northwest across the great lakes. this coastal storm will develop. and that will bring us internittent showers and snow -- intermittent showers and snow showers tomorrow afternoon. we'll see a mixture of snow and rain. but then the cold air settles along with very, very cold wind. by tomorrow night, the winds pick up. temperatures drop down to about 18 degrees on saturday night. that's going to get your attention. small craft advisory along with those winds goes into effect tomorrow morning. gale warnings will be in effect tomorrow night. tonight, going down to 34 degrees. again, still area wide, not cold enough to support snow all

with first warning doppler radar. this is number 3 in the last two weeks. very similar kind of conditions. overnight tonight, the grounds are still pretty warm. temperatures will stay above freezing. take a look at radar. there is activity moving in from the west. primarily, we're talking about rain later on and maybe a mix by early in the morning. however, there is a cold front. this one right out there. once that front gets here, by about noon, 1:00, temperatures will be falling. and that's when i do think we'll start seeing some snow accumulations possible in the region, particularly north and west of the town, as temperatures will be falling. because of that, we do have an advisory that will be going into effect late tonight, primarily northern sections of the region. and garrett county and those counties to the west, actually under a winter storm warning. and here's why. here's what we expect from the system tomorrow, probably during the afternoon or even into the evening hours. around the baltimore metro, a coating to maybe an irv. a little rain and flurries south. an inch or two across northern

[ gunshots ] activists captured this video in the city of holmes. throughout the week, various attacks have left hundreds dead or hurt. the rallies got worse as russia and china vetoed a united

nations plan that would have condemned the crackdown by the syrian president. the u.s. and other countries have called for a creation of friends of democratic syria group. >> syria's president denies attacking civilian forces, saying they are targeting armed gangs and terrorists. president obama signs into law the final bill authored boy former congresswoman gabrielle giffords who was injured in the shooting rampage last year. giffords resigned from congress last month as she continues to recover. the legislation increases the penalties for this. giffords stepped down the day the house passed her bill by a unanimous vote. more disturbing details tonight on what happened just before a deadly explosion at josh powell's house in washington state. it happened as a case worker brought powell's son to the house for a supervised visit. she says powell locked her out, then told the boys she he had a surprise for them. authorities also say they found

incestious photos. at a custody hearing in utah last week, he was ordered to undergo a psychoevaluation but was allowed to see his sons. a pennsylvania woman was charged with having sex with a student at the school where she taught. mary is live in the newsroom with more. >> reporter: police say the abuse of the 16-year-old student lasted from the fall of 2010 through just last month. >> the montrose christian school is known as the alma mater of kevin durant. but today, the school is making news, thanks to the alleged actions of one of its teachers. >> it happened on several action occasions? >> yes. >> 27-year-old kim kimberly has now been charged with having a sexual relationship with a montrose student who was 16 when the relationship began in the fall of 2010. >> the teacher did confess to the relationship. >> reporter: cops say campbell and the friend had sex numerous

times. >> this occurred in her vehicle. police say school administrators notified them of the relationship after the school received an anonymous e- mail about it friday. >> it's disgusting. >> did she seem like a nice person? good teacher? >> absolutely. she's a nice person. i mean, just shocked. >> reporter: mary bubala, wjz eyewitness news. >> well, the school said in a statement that campbell no longer works there and that none of the incidents took place on campus. vic? >> mary, thank you. campbell is charged with two counts each of a minor and fourth degree sex offense. a sad day for a virginia fire company, as they lose one of their own in a fall. 33-year-old joshua weisman was a 7 of year veteran of alexandria's fire department. he died after falling 37 feet from an interstate overpass while at the scene of a crash. investigators are still trying to figure out what caused him to fall. well, 20 years after a newborn baby is kidnapped from the new york hospital, the suspect goes before a judge.

anne petway of raleigh made a plea deal. she admits she grabbed carolina white from a hospital. white's birth mother says she is outraged orthe plea bargain and believes petway should spend at least 20 years behind bars. let's check in on the roads with kristy breslin. friday afternoon never can be an easy one. on the north side inner loop, the delays there stretch from york road to 95. expect at least 20 minutes to get through. the outer loop, also jammed up there, from providence road to the jones falls expressway. on the west side inner loop, the accident at liberty rad, involving the tract -- road, involving the tractor-trailer. it is now on the shoulder. but traffic is jam packed to 95 in that direction. at least 25 minute toddle get by. -- to get by. and 95 southbound, an accident there, approaching 195, blocking the two right-hand lanes. other accidents include

electronic detectors to detect perspiration. officials who break their no- drink order could be sent to jail. a shocking secret fbi file on steve jobs. it includes what his friends and coworkers actually thought of apple's ceo. bob or reports for wjz, some of it is not so nice. >> reporter: one worker at apple computer called jobs a deceptive individual, who is not completely forthright and honest. another cleg defended jobs, saying he was a man. high integrity. but multiple friends warned he could be abrasive and had a tendency to distort reality in order to achieve his goals. this comes from an fbi file. agents were conducting a background check after president george h.w. bush appointed jobs to a council.

they said that jobs, while not perfect, was a worthy person to serve on the presidential council. the fbi investigation revealed there were troubles in his personal life. one colleague said that jobs initially mistreated the daughter he had out of wedlock, by failing to support her. but then he started to. he was a c-plus student with a 3.5 grade point average. he had been known to experiment with marijuana, hashish and lsd. but he never sold any drugs and never committed any crimes. it should does show he was the target of extortion. these handwritten notes were done by the fbi after someone phoned in a threat. the caller was never paid and never found. >> that was bob or reporting.

jobs died in october from pancreatic cancer. a los angeles schoolteacher is paid $40,000 to resign. >> reporter: well, vic, the school district says it paid mark berndt to drop the challenge to his dismissal. berndt was fired last week after she was arrested. he is alleged to have taken photographs of blindfolded children with bodily fluids. last week, another teacher at the same school was accused of fondling a girl in his class. he has also since been fired. >> the two cases are believed to be unrelated. the entire staff was released this week as authorities investigate the sex abuse charges. a bus driver jumps into action after the bus catches fire. the driver said she smelled something burning and quickly got the children off. moments later, it was up in flames. six people were sent to the

hospital. no one is hurt. still unclear what started the fire. celebrity zoo keeper jack hanna slams ohio lawmakers for not panning a bill -- passing a bill that would ban exotic animals. this comes after dozens were lets loose by their suicidal owner. the bill would ban people from owning exotic animals, unless they arrived to be a private shelter. in today's healthwatch, many americans turn to medication for relief from insomnia. but research shows cognitive behavioral therapy, or talk therapy, can be just as effective. >> reporter: jeffrey childs has suffered through many sleepless night, making it difficult to function during the day. >> i would have fragments of sleep at an hour and a half at a time. >> for your work, you can't

concentrate as well. >> after years of insomnia, childs finally reached out to a sleep specialist. dr. shelby harris suggested he try cognitive behavioral therapy. >> let's look at your sleep diary. >> reporter: to start, dr. harris helps patients change their behaviors. patients should eliminate caffeine in the afternoon, exercise late in the day, and wind down an hour before bed. that means no tv. >> i have an active mind that keeps racing. >> reporter: next comes the cognitive part of the therapy, which includes relaxation relaxation techniques, such as medication. >> it -- meditation. >> it will teach them ways to quiet their mind. >> reporter: insomnia is the most common problem, affecting about 60 million people. it often goes undiagnosed and can cause serious health problems if left untreated. >> problems with memory, increased risk of stroke, heart attack, increased risk of accidents. >> reporter: research shows talk therapy can be just as

all right. some clouds in the area. and far western maryland, getting a few light flurries of snow. later tonight, across our region, we'll see a little rain. and then late tonight, early in the morning, looks like rain- snow mix. and during the day tomorrow, more precip headed our way. and probably most of that will be a mix and/or snow, depending on your location. we'll talk about that in just a minute. take a look at temps right now. very mild still. and it's been very mild. precipitation, there it is, heading in from the ohio valley. out to the west. and slowly, slowly moving toward our region. and that front near chicago is

also moving off to the east by late tonight, it's ought across ohio valley. and by tomorrow afternoon, it's just beginning to go through the region. and that's when our temperatures will start to fall, tomorrow afternoon. until then, it's going to stay above freezing for the most part. light north winds now at 5. temperature at 45. barometer holding steady. right now, far western maryland. that's the only place we're seeing really any freezing temps. light flurries there. 37. roads are warm once again. anything that falls tonight in the morning is not going to accumulate on the roadways there. they are too warm and they have been treated. the grass you see maybe a little north and west of the city in the morning. but the bulk of any frozen precip really is going to come later tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow night. 40, 45, 46 in d.c. 46/27 today. the average is now 44, 26. and the records, 1960. not that warm. 66. 1899.

the second day in a row. 7 below zero, the record low. right now, light northerly winds. actually, most. day, it's been out of the south and southwest. which kept us in this mild air. this is a very complex system. and there's also this arctic front beginning to cross the great lakes. a lot of the lakes aren't even frozen. that is really going to affect western portions of our region. take a quick look at what we expect for the system during the day tomorrow. south of the city, just a little rain and flurries. across the central portion of the region. a coating, some slush, maybe an inch in northern sections. 1 to 2 possible, north and west of the area. and 4 to 8. garrett county mountains, could see even more than that. take a look at the rest of the area. satellite picture. you can see all of that stuff across the ohio valley. rain down to our south. and slowly but surely, we'll start seeing some of that precip. now, the main event one i said is that cold air coming in. once that front comes through, snow showers, yes they'll be turning much colder.
