prosecutors in virginia are laying out evidence against the university of virginia lacrosse player, huguely, accused of killing his girlfriend, the evidence is mounting. wjz 13 is in charlottesville, virginia. adam may has more on what is going on in the courtroom. >> reporter: just stepped out to give you an update. we kind of entered as the csi, phase of the trial, they are going through the medical evidence and great detail on the stand right now is a neurological pathologist, a brain expert, she has testified all morning about how she dissected love's brain and found blunt force trauma and sheer force, that is an injury to the brain that can be caused

by twisting at a rapid motion. defense attorneys are up there, questioning the expert and defense trying to build podidn't threer that the brain injuries could have been caused by the cpr after she was found badly beaten back in may of 2010. this all comes on top of yesterday's testimony from the medical examiner, who showed very graphic images of yeardley love's autopsy to jurors, showing pictures of bruises from head to toe on the body. also, i should point out, a moment ago her mother, walked by, outside of the courtroom, she has not been sitting insides for a lot of this graphic testimony here on the autopsy. a told her that we were so sorry she is having to go through this and relive all of this. she was extremely gracious and said thank you so much. she mentioned she appreciated

all of us. >> reporter: a police escort led a hearse. the fallen super star will be laid to rest in the state where she was born and raised. >> it's sad she has to come home under these circumstances. >> reporter: whitney's family members have been struggling to plan a proper send off and decided to hold the funeral here in a church were her talent emerged and saying in a choir as a child. the 48-year-old pop sensation was found dead saturday under water in the bathtub of a beverly hills hotel. law enforcement said some prescription drugs were found in the room. authorities won't speculate on what killed her until toxicology results are back. houston was one of the world's best selling artists until she started battling drugs and alcohol.

the apple store next store shows ployees listeng to the sounds of the murder but opting not to contact police. he was sent to prison without the possibility of parole. police launch an investigation no a video that shows officers threatening to arrest a man who is recording them. derek valcourt has the video. >> the man with that video camera says he takes a lot of videos in his neighborhood but as you are about to see, it's his most recent video adding to the controversy over how city officers handle citizens with video cameras. this video of officers making an arrest in federal hill just one day afr baltimore's police commissioner issued this policy, saying members of the public are allowed to videotape police officers in a public setting. policy had no effect sat as this video was being shot.

really? >> officers never told the man holding the camera to stop rerding and tell him he is loitering, threatening to arrest him if he doesn't leave the scene immediately. >> i'm leaving. >> turn around and walk. >> reporter: a spokesman says the commissioner ordered an investigation in to this video and the man who shot it has filed a complaint against the departme. that complaint comes as a judge refuses to throw out a lawsuit over a similar incident in 2010 when officers confiscated a camera and deleted videos shot by christopher sharp as his friend was being arrested at the preakness. >> i was told i had to give it to them. >> reporter: the lawsuit supported by the justice department and the aclu, could take months to resolve. >> the man who shot the most

recent video confirms he has filed a complaint with the police department, though he says he has not been contacted by investigators. derek valcourt, wjz 13 eye witness news. wjz 13 will have more on the complaint and the man who shot the video at 5:00 and 6:00. hundreds of people rallied in annapolis, calling on the assembly to legalize same sax marriage in maryland. the governor said the battles come down to undecided delegates. last year the senate passed a bill but failed in the house of delegates. getting more republican votes will be key this time around and the issue could hit the house floor as early as this week. weather wise, today started overcast, most us of missed out on precipitation. the sun is warming us up once again. wjz 13 is live with first warning weather coverage, marty bass is in the outbook outback and bernadette woods in the weather center.
