95 around o'donnell street overturned and was caied printers ink. well, it spilled. not only on i-95 but 885. even though it's water based it's still considered a hazmat situation. as a result the fair department is here, -- fire department is here and the baltimore city police. now, a heavy duty record is being brought in. that wrecker will come in. the driver wasn't hurt, know was anyone else. we're trying to investigate and see why this driver overturned the truck anyways. people here at this exit are now being turned around and diverted so they can come off here and get back on 95 at some other point. once again we have a large

and out of the traffic bringing traffic to a halt. police tell us the students have a history of problems. officers arrested about a dozen students. >> the prosecution rests in the george hughly trial. his former teammates testified against him. wjz is following every development from the courthouse. >> reporter: one by one the former teammates took the stand to testify against their old friend, george. they told jurors he was drunk, spilling wine, stumbling and urinating in public. player kenneth gave him a cold stare in court before testifying love was one of his

best friends. he says he seemed strange and had a change of demeanor after visiting love's apartment and i asked him what was wrong and he said nothing was wrong. i asked two more times and got no response. they also told jurors they caught him lying about his where abouts that night and seen him walk in his bathroom and strip down to his boxer shorts before disappearing to his room for the night. >> they're aware the defense is going to say he was so drunk he didn't know what he was doing but the fact he was aware he'd been involved in a homicide and lied to his roommates about what had taken place. >> reporter: a few other female students were also called to testify that they received calls and text messages from him that night. they were not read allow in court but he was looking for a hook up or an alibi as love

laid in her bed dying from blunt force trauma injuries to her brain. defense is now presenting their side of the case and started with a medical expert saying she was so drunk she could have had problems. that places the death as accidental. he could be found guilty of manslaughter instead f -- of first degree murder. >> the murder trial continues, we'll bring you the latest from the courtroom on air and on line at wjz.com. with the music world still morning the loss of whitney houston, the medical examiner hasn't released a cause but the focus is on her prescription medications. >> reporter: los angeles county

wonderful in it but she was always that little girl from new jersey. >> reporter: he says the family is finding peace in their faith. >> progress is slow for people in south west baltimore who still do not have gas or hot water. crews are working around the clock to fix a gas line that break yesterday. workers still have to turn off the gas in about 300 homes before they can inspect their gas connection. they hope to have the problem fixed by friday night. washington d.c. admits they're at fault in the most deadliest crash in history. the train slammed into a stopped train in 2009. metro hopes by accepting blame they will save money on legal fees. >> hundreds of dead birds rain down on i-95. you can see the birds scattered

mexican newspaper headquarters has gone viral. they posted the video in order to bring attention to the crime. no arrest made. >> the fort lauderdale airport has got a lot of attention. a woman left something blind in one of the bins and moments later a man reaches in and takes the object. police say it's a rolex watch worth $6500. they advise passengers never place jewelry in the bins. >> controverse rei growing over a cell phone video of police officers threatening the man recording the video. wjz has been following the case for days. tonight we talk to those on both sides of the debate.

>> reporter: as six officers stood over a suspect this weekend, scott grabs his cell phone and starts recording. >> i have a camera and i'm supposed to be able to take video. >> reporter: the officers quickly became unhappy. the officers threatened to arrest him for loitering. >> they seemed more interested in his camera than they are with the men they were arresting. >> reporter: we showed the video and they're already challenging the police in court. their lawsuit sparked this new police policy on how city officers should handle being video recorded. they say in this case, the police officers were wrong. >> it wasn't loitering. he was, in fact, engaged in

activity with activity he can do. >> reporter: the president of baltimore's police union agrees with the mayor who told wjz for officers protection there should be guidelines on how far away saids with cameras should stay. >> i don't know what the distance is but i think our officers need to have that flexibility to keep themselves and the person arrested safe. >> he says he's not planning legal action against the police department but does want an apology. >> a florida man is recovering from severe facial injuries after an electronic cigarette explodes in his mouth. he lost parts of his teeth and tongue. he suffered burns to the face. electronic cigarettes are designed to deliver nicotine
