emotions. the prosecutor broke down in tears as he revisited the final moments of his life. george hughly looked a little nervous. he was fidgeting as yardly's final moments of life were discussed in closing arguments. in the off campus apartment when hughly kicked in her door. imagine what that was like. she's freaked out, in the corner of her bed, trying to get away. love couldn't scream because hughly covered her mouth and showed the beaten face autopsy. you could hear crying in the courtroom. even the prosecutor broke down in tears how she was found face down in her bed. he took the computer with the

threatening message. when hughly threw the computer in the dumpster, it proves intent of murder. he said it was not an accident. defense attorneys painted a much different version of the events. in closing arguments, the death was accidental, involuntary manslaughter. they said, you get what you get. he's a boy athlete. a medical expert said love did not die from blunt force trauma. >> how do you think she died? >> deprivation. >> reporter: hughly left her injured unaware that she was dying. trying to convict of first- degree murder which would be a sentence of life in prison if he's convicted on the lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter, it's ten years in prison. the case is now officially in the hands of the jury, but because of the holiday weekend

we're learning more tonight about the man who planned the attack at the capital building. investigators say armene was arrested yesterday after seen with a vest full of explosives. the fbi said he was under their watch for a year. same-sex couples could be soon walking down the aisle legally in maryland. the civil acts passed by delegates. we have reaction from supporters and opponents of same-sex marriage. >> reporter: same-sex mrs. couples have been reacting.

he suffered nonlife threatening injuries. the other driver stopped and the crash is under investigation. archbishop o'brien is now cardinal o'brien. more than 100 worshipers came to rome for the ceremony. >> reporter: from this day, pope benedict created 22 new in the catholic church. in a shorter than normal ceremony with pageantry, he's in home. he places the red bretta. he is the 15th oldest archbishop and the fourth to be elevated to cardinal. the baldwin family from baltimore. >> it's an honor.

degrees and you can see way above the average as far as the high goes at 46. other than oakland, we're all above freezing. the winds turned around to the north that will bring cooler air. but in baltimore, i don't think we're getting to freezing. these are factors working against the storm on our way. there's a lot of moisture, severe weather too, and as it moves into some colder air, this is going to be snow mainly for the mountains in appalachia. as you cross over in maryland, some of the amounts really die down. as far as virginia goes, there will be higher amounts. also for anyone skiing in the mountains this president's day weekend, great for you guys. here's a bull's eye heaviest amount. this amount cuts off quickly and we see all of the watches and warnings for the heaviest

bull's eye down to the southwest. for us, that's brought down some of the numbers. in the green area, a trace or an inch is possible. if anything falls, it will probably melt on the roadways. accumulation really isn't until overnight hours tomorrow. here's a one to three and that doesn't include eastern parts of the shore. higher amounts the farther southwest you go. the storm comes here and then monday, back up in the upper 40s. this is not lasting long. the forecast on the waters, small advisory in effect until tomorrow night as winds pick up as the storm approaches. it changes to all snow. this storm goes farther to the south and may not see anything out of this. it goes a little farther to the north, maybe an inch or two more, but not a huge storm.
