next. tracking first warning doppler radar. >> east of the bay still good thunder storms going on. a whole batch of them all the way down across the eastern shore particularly across the extreme southern portion. this is like the second batch of thunder storms in the last hour all moving off quickly to the east around 50 to 60 miles an hour. on the western sure lighter showers around the baltimore area you can see one last little shower. sunshine beginning to come out and you are going to see clearing at least the sun is setting. look for windy conditions. take a look at the advisories until 8:00. tornado watch is in affect for the rest of the region. wind advisories until midnight. wind gusts could get over 50 miles per hour as that front moves through the area. we're only up to 52. close to 60 some spots

. south of dc they got into the low 80s. just stayed just south of us. 43 in oakland. but the winds begin to turn there 26 miles an hour. winds very light here. 37 mile an hour in cummerland. winds will pick up and could see wind gusts over 40 to 45 miles an hour. >> thank you very much. new charges in an explosive case of road rage. for the first time the wife of the man stabbed on his wedding day. after the chaos earlier this week. both men were treated. mike has the interview and what's behind those new charges. >> police tell us they did more interviews with witnesses and those who were directly involved and they now feel there was

fault on both sides. >> what's going on? >> there's been a stabbing. >> the frightening road rage attack stunned those who watched it unfold. >> he's got blood down his shirt. he has been stabbed. >> the victim is a local football coach. his new wife watched everything unfold and spoke to wjz about the terrifying experience. she asked us not to show her face. >> i did not expect anything to happen on my wedding day like this. i hope that people understand the road rage issue the way that people think now-a-days, you got to be careful. >> she'd gotten married hours before and was at a stop light when the passenger in another car became irritated and cops say violent. investigators believe he was upset she and her new husband got out and switched seats. >> and during everything that

was taking place to have it turn so fast so quickly and see so much rage at the time it's ana dren lynn thing. >> she would not go into detail but he stabbed her husband and took off. eventually followed and the two cars crashed about a mile away. the two men started fighting. authorities initially did not charge him but after consulting with witnesses, they arrested him for first and second degree assault. his wife told wjz the arrest surprised and devastated her. >> we will get through this too. he had asked me for you all to pray for him and the family. >> her children watched the attack happen and she's still living in fear. >> you have no idea what it's like to know that your children's head will not be the same because of what they saw.

>> juror describes a photo of yeardley love's face. the most difficult part was seeing her autopsy photos. >> even though it's behind me, the scars are going to be there my whole life. i never knew her, but i got to know her best friends, her family, i got to see parts of her life in photographs. >> love was killed in may of 2010. he was found guilty. >> we all did not think that the killing was premeditated. we don't think he went over there with the purpose of killing her. george's statement was very painful and i feel for him. but he bears responsibility for what happens. and i wish we weren't put in that situation to make that

and were moving from maryland to florida to live. after four days there was no contact with family who called police then. a missing person's report was then issued. there has been no sign of the couple. they were driving a beige or light brown 2002 ford crown victoria. >> both had medical issues requiring routine medical treatment. >> a mysterious change in leadership for a maryland university. the president of umuc is removed and officials won't say why. >> reporter: this sudden departure has stunned and left a lot of people speech less. >> welcome to the university of maryland university college. >> susan is considered a national leader in online higher education. since 2006 she's

been president. headquartered in college apark the school claims to be the fastest growing virtual campus. >> they are the largest state university with 94,000 students. >> a statement from the university shocked higher education circles. a spokesman writes the president will be on leave for an undetermined period of time. wjz asked if it was voluntary and we were told she was placed on leave but the school wouldn't say why. >> wjz reached out to a number of members on this school's board. we were told no comment and one person told me i'm not talking about that. >> people talk a lot about giving back. >> seen in this video, the former chair was the only member who agreed to speak briefly by phone. he said he had limited information about her departure but felt the university was we will equipped. >> i'm proud to have you on this campus. >> she made around $300,000 a

video captured by a surveillance camera shows the confused driver making a turn thinking it was the road. her car gets stuck. the wheels spin. the passenger gets out and tries to push the car. but the driver doesn't want to leave her vehicle. >> i'm like i can't believe this is happening. the two men and passenger move away but the driver is still trying to move her car. >> i told her father times and i said i can't leave her. i said get out of the car. she stepped 1 foot out and by the time she got her second foot the train came. >> pushing hundreds of yards down the track leaving it looking like this. a mangled mess. this is just the latest in the series of accidents in this very spot. two years ago several fraternity members including alex crespo rescued a 60-year-old woman. >> we watched and we're like

trying to identify thousands of people captured by a well-known african american photographer from baltimore. >> this one was 1934. >> baltimore civil rights era came earlier than many. >> he was in that crowd that was making a difference. >> henderson's collection is now at the historical society. packed in boxes and stored away. but this week the museum put his work on display. >> we got over 6,000 pictures and a few hundred prints. once i started to look through it, i was in shock. >> jennifer is cure rate for of photography. >> receiving honors and thousands others who today are name less. sdmr there are amazing photographs of people getting married that we don't

know who they are. dinners. >> there's a good reason why henderson a photographer never documented the faces in his photos. >> i think it was because of that limited space that he stopped writing on his photos. >> because henderson's collection is so vast, more than 6,000 photos, created a mini collection so people who visit the historical society can flip through these pages and try to identify people they know. >> putting a name to a face is extremely important because then you can look at newspaper and archives of newspapers and say who was this person? >> after learning more about henderson and his work, the historical society is working on placing some of his photos on the state house and other government buildings. the exhibit runs indefinitely. >> thank you. if you think you may know some of the people in the henderson collection and would like to see the photos

now, first in weather complete forecast and first warning of severe weather. >> it's friday. >> looking outside right now we see a little bit of haze over baltimore right now. a little bit of rain. bob is here now with updated forecast. >> i saw a little bit of sun as it went down. west of us it's clear. a few snowflakes are falling. east of it is a different picture. all the shower and thunder storm activity and the lower eastern shore of maryland. some pretty good thunder storms over there. reports are very strong.

still some damaging winds in that location to the north and west. western shore just light showers. a few showers east of us but pretty much clear. windy conditions will kick in this evening later on probably after 8 or 9:00. right now we're at 48. really hadn't moved anywhere all day long. we never got into the warm air just south of washington 70s and low 80s today. the warm front just stopped right there as the winds came out of the east northeast off the ocean. that cool damp air hung tight so we didn't see the nice warm temperatures we hoped to get here. south of us yes, even eastern shore had low 70s but never made it this far north. 51. local temperatures in the upper 40s where they've been all day long. right now winds not much at all. out to

the west they are picking up. wind gust of 51 miles an hour. oakland now the winds are 26 but stronger gusts. because the wind gusts tonight still have the high wind warning west of us and the wind advisory over much of the state and tornado watch officially until 8:00. extreme southern maryland and eastern shore. still can see pretty gusty thunder storms or he may lift that before 8:00. that front is moving through the area quickly. as you can see kind of reforming extreme southern bay. clearing skies, yes colder air. look for a cooler windy night and windy but sunny weekend headed our way with temperatures back closer to normal. gusty winds um to 45 knot -- up to 40 knots. tonight 49 and later as things clear out and winds pick up. 50 degrees. that's about normal. going

malicious or just another 18-year-old boy acting his age? that is the main question as the trial begins for a student who used his web cam to spy on his roommate. that roommate committed suicide. >> robby faces 15 criminal charges including the hate crime for the suicide of his gay roommate. told jurors he wanted to victimize his roommate. >> defendant's acts were not a prank, they were not an accident and they were not a mistake. these acts were purposeful. they were intentional and they were planned. >> robbie sent an instant message to a high school friend telling him about the sexual encounter. that friend was the first witness and read the message to the court. >> i went into the room and

police found an arsenal of weapons along with ammunition. bill lives a few doors down. when county authorities raided this house they found patches for baltimore city county, virginia state police along with uniforms and equipment. >> one neighbor said they knew he liked to dress up but considered it a quarky habit. >> pierce doesn't buy that. >> to me you don't go out in a costume as a police officer. it just doesn't make any sense. >> police also believe he may have been doing more than dress up. >> if he had tried to pull you over or otherwise, we would like to know about that. >> and we did try to contact him earlier but someone at his house declined to comment.

called the threat to national security. shut down 911 systems. disrupted aircraft and put the power grid in parrel. ripping away thousands of dollars from this home and taking off in just 4.5 minutes. in the past two years authorities have arrested more than 400 people but many times those behind the theft get little more than a slap on the wrist. >> mike was stunned when copper thieves took power cables from dozens of boats at his dock. that could have caused them to sink. >> some of these boats have high electronics but they went for the copper. >> thieves walked off at george's home in north baltimore. >> somebody heard noise outside and we didn't know what was happening. >> he lives where many of the older homes have copper gutters

there are fresh protests over the burning of the muslim book. and claiming more lives in afghanistan. leaders are urging calm but growing rest over what muslims consider a violation of their religion. trashed and burned by nato forces. 20 people have been killed including two u.s. soldiers. a nasty crash is caught on a camera. >> you can see 18 wheeler crossing three lanes of traffic pushing suv through the concrete barrier. flipped over and landed on a car. investigators believe speed was a factor. the man in the crushed car is still in the hospital. crews in texas pull an all nighter trying to keep a fire in the fuel tank under control. the explosion could be heard from miles away.

>> we will start with football earlier this month. joe flaco and ray rice are going to be with. owner steve said ed doesn't give definitive answers. but the team says today reed is committed to play another year. the ten year veteran spoke with the coach and has told him he is getting ready for season number 11. reed has pondered retirement for three years. he has been dealing with neck and shoulder injuries. he has one year remaining on his current contract. it's unclear if offensive lineman will be back with ravens. he is in line for a big payday. today he has been negotiating with the agent with a goal of getting the deal done. they are making a big offer and still may be able to fit him under the salary cap. first full spring training
