can one candidate secure a win in both states? hello, everybody. here's what people are talking about. a double victory for mit romney in a tight race. the governor takes michigan and gets an easy win in arizona. we report from michigan with the latest results. >> reporter: it's a sweep for romney. romney is the winner of arizona and michigan primaries as he tries to regain his status as the front runner for the republican presidential nomination. >> thank you, arizona. great victory in arizona tonight. [ cheering and applause ] >> and thank you, michigan. what a win. this is a big night. thank you guys. >> reporter: santorum thanked voters for making it a close contest. >> we came into the backyard of one of my opponents.

everyone said you have no chance here. >> reporter: a total of 59 delegates are being awarded in michigan and arizona, a fraction of what is needed for the nomination. but it's the momentum and the money that will mean the most to the candidates heading into super tuesday. gingrich by passed arizona and michigan to campaign in his home state of georgia. >> i think this is the most important election in our lifetime. >> reporter: ron paul is focusing on virginia. >> it's very appropriate that the state of virginia be involved in our revolution that's going on. >> reporter: 10 states and more than 400 delegates will be up for grabs next tuesday, and the outcome could narrow the field. >> next up in the republican races, washington state will hold its caucuses on saturday.

i-83 is back open tonight after a nasty accident in baltimore county. you can see the jeep that flipped over near belfast road. rescuers pulled out the driver and flew him to the hospital. police closed the highway for an hour, but tonight traffic is moving again. the three-alarm fire destroyed this home. it took firefighters from maryland, delaware, and pennsylvania to put out the flames. the family that lives there, however, was not hurt. a group of high school students gunned down at random and the accused shooter is being painted as a disturbed teenage. the ram pain has claimed more lives. we have more on how the small ohio town is coping. >> reporter: the teenage suspect has confessed to the shooting that has killed three high school students. an over flow crowd gathered outside the church to mourn the death of three teenage boys.

going after four bodog executives. a billionaire, mtv cribs toured his compound and he was named one of the hottest bachelors. in this indictment, he's accused of running an illegal gambling empire. opened accounts from june 2009 to january 2012. they bet on sports and received winnings by check and in cash. >> they traced their funds and found 10s of millions of dollars in gambling proceeds were being transmitted through bank accounts here in the u.s. >> reporter: on his website, he released a statement saying it is clear that the online gaming industry is legal under international law and in the case of these documents, it's clear that the rule of law was not allowed to slow down a rush to try to win the war of public opinion. prosecutors say their focus? winning the war on illegal

insists the military's work is making afghanistan safer. a 5-year-old child dies and city police say it was no accident. we are live at police headquarters where the investigation is active tonight. we have more on this developing story. >> reporter: police confirmed that it was not an accident, yet they won't say how this child died. police say it happened in the 3400 block of calloway avenue. they aren't releasing details about the case, but say on monday a 5-year-old girl was take ton the hospital and overnight she died, the victim of a homicide. police won't confirm the address, but neighbors say police activity was at this house. >> police were sitting there, the lights weren't on. i thought they were looking for somebody. >> reporter: residents say this neighborhood is normally quiet and nose we spoke with were saddened to learn a child had been killed. police say they have a person of interest in custody.

cruise ship stranded with more than a thousand people on board. this photo shows a french fishing vessel towing the costa allegra. supplies are being dropped by helicopter. the ship is expected to arrive on the main island sometime tomorrow night. a disturbing disclosure. a pentagon report reveals how unidentified remains of 9/11 victims were handle. incinerated remains were taken to this virginia landfill. the victims were from shanksville and the pentagon. they were processed through the mortuary at dover air force base. >> we don't think it should have happened. we think that our fallen deserve what they're getting now, which is the fallen remains are taken out to sea and they're buried at sea. >> an earlier investigation

revealed some military remains were mishandled at the dover air force base. the floating remnants of last march's japanese tsunami are heading to the united states. scientists believe about 5% of debris will reach hawaii and the west coast within the next two years. 1-2million-tons of garbage has passed midway island. it is not one floating mass but rather it is dispersed over a wide area of the pacific ocean. a new push by police in baltimore to get dangerous dirt bikes off of city streets. they are illegal. they're risky, and as mike explains, these wreckless rides could be an accident waiting to happen. >> reporter: it's a dangerous tradition, packs oh you have dirt bikes on the streets with little regard for traffic laws. recent, warmer weather has riders out in force.

>> oh! >> reporter: in this youtube clip, a bike narrowly hits a truck. and it's illegal in the city to own a dirt bike that's not been disabled. >> dirt bike operators are terrorizing neighborhoods. >> reporter: another video claims to show city cops chasing dirt bikes. their policy is not to chase but stay back and watch. >> leading these individuals on high-speed chases doesn't work. >> reporter: people see them all the time. wjz asked them what they think should be done. >> it all depends on where they're riding them at. i think they need a place for them to really ride them. >> need a place for them. >> reporter: by law, gas stations aren't supposed to sell fuel for dirt bikes. police can seize bikes that are locked up. none of that has stopped riders, who made the streets there

despite the risks knowing it's hard for cops to track them down. police have asked the public to help them and report where these dirt bikes are being stored. >> dirt bikes have been illegal on city streets since the year 2000. it wasn't a dirt bike but a monster truck that got a florida man in trouble. the vehicle crushing a 1994 toyota at an off-road park. norman nolling said the crowd told him the car was abandoned. it actually belonged to a 16-year-old girl. when he found out, he presented the girl's family with a check to replace the car. he never theless, still faces criminal charges. two cows escape, running wild in the streets of houston. the animals made a break for houston. run for your life! the other refused to give up

12 hours. we're looking for at least a half inch of rain. some of the models have over an inch of rain for tomorrow. light stuff to the north and cold enough for a little snow across western new york. may see just a little bit in the poconos. this warm air will be moving overhead keeping it generally just rain, even as far as south as central pennsylvania. for our region, rain moving in. there's a warm front developing out to the west. that will be the focal point for rain developing in the morning. this cool front goes through the region. quite a bit warmer, actually because the winds go west, they come down the mountains, this is not an arctic or canadian air mass i.'s from the pacific. temperatures on thursday could really jump back up into the mid or upper 60s. yeah, looks nice.

they added local talent, they signed pitcher josh banks to a minor league contract. the native pitched prior with a blue jays, padres, and astros. now on our spring training report, nick says he's feeling great after off-season abdominal surgery. he was honored for his outstanding defensive play, entering his 7th year in the majors. he's become a veteran that young orioles can look to for leadership. >> i might not verbally be as loud as other guys on the team, but you can do -- you can lead by example through other ways, just go out about your business, work hard, and play the game the right way. >> manager says nick will not play in the spring training game until march 10th at the earlierest, a week after the exhibition opener. it is peak season for basketball. high school, college, and pro. we start with the local kids.

boys 3-a play offs in franklin. nice highlight. he held on to the rim a little too long, got a technical foul. leads patterson to victory. patterson advances an 84-48 victory. we followed the local talent into college, like cleveland melvin. good player on a bad depaul team. the sophomore averages 17 points a game for depaul. he put in 21 tonight. his baltimore teammate, brandon young had 21. it's the mountaineers who win this one. kobe bryant has a concussion. he was hit in the head by miami's d-wade on sunday. the lakers play tomorrow night.
