on one about the accusations. >> reporter: leopold is accused of one count of misappropriation of funds, he's accused of misusing his police detail costing thousands in overtime. >> here's john leopold surrounded by security detail, it's those county officers that told the grand jury they drove leopold to parking lots so he could have sex with another county employees. leopold security was paid $10,000 in overtime during two hospital visits to run interference between his girlfriend and his mistress. >> the response to the salacious allegations will be held in court. >> reporter: the indictment goes on claiming leopold inappropriately used his police security. there's more to the story. >> once the citizens will hear both side of the story they will have a complete understanding of this case.

>> reporter: leopold will fight the scandal. something he's done before. >> the people reelected me handily. >> those allegations came here outside an annapolis mall. a 191 caller claimed to see someone engaging in a sex contact in a vehicle. that vehicle turned out to be leopold's car. >> i see some activity going on in a car and i don't think it's proper. >> what kind of activity is it sir? >> it looks like sex activity to me. >> reporter: the county executive confident he will weather the storm too. >> i'm very confident when all the relative facts are known that we will prevail. right now he has no plans of stepping down in fact, he says his number one priority right now is balancing the county budget. reporting live, megan mccorkel. >> complete coverage continues now with andrea fujii. she is live with the reaction from those involved in the case. >> some are calling for leopold to step down including the

woman who ran against him. juwana canti was a candidate in 2010. >> we spent a lot of money on signs that disappeared. and you know undoubtedly that hurt. >> reporter: according to the indictment, leopold threw out several of his signs, one he says quote pulled the sign out of the ground and threw it down a ravine. >> i also think it is pathetic that with all the serious problems facing our county that john leopold was driving around picking up and throwing away my signs. >> reporter: she's now calling for leopold to step down and so are some of his constituents. leopold is also facing a suit. >> instead of the county

through the entire town. >> i had to walk to school and the whole school fell down. >> reporter: the tornado destroyed the town's high school and ripped the roof off of homes. after if storm, people desperately searched for their loved ones. >> the next thing i see in the distance was two of them, by the time we got to the basement of the church, all hell broke lose. >> wow. >> reporter: this was just one of several waves of twisters that touched down across the midwest and south on friday. earlier in the day the storms tore up trees and ripped roofs off homes in alabama. it came up behind this house. the room was ripped off it hasn't even been found. what was in the house is now spread around the house. the unsettled weather that

could spawn more twisted is expected to last throughout the night. terrell brown, wjz eyewitness news. and earlier this week 13 people were killed by another round of tornadoes in the south and midwest. a broken water main causes a road to collapse from sky chopper 13. you can see the mess, the 12- inch main broke this morning. crews fixed the water main and repaired the main. the student insulted by rush limbaugh is speaking out. limbaugh called her a slut and suggested she make a tape. georgetown was not included in the student plan because of religious reasons. today lindburger saw the a attempt for what it was.

>> i saw it as he was trying to silence me. but i'm not going to be silenced and it became clear to me they're not going to be silenced either. families come together to remember a baltimore soldier assassinated in afghanistan. dozens of people held a vigil tonight in honor of robert marchanti. he used to teach there, marclanti was killed over the burning of the holy book. tonight a baltimore city police officer is hospitalized after he was attacked while making an arrest. the information is sketchy but we know the officers injuries are nonlife threatening and we know the suspects were taken into custody. the school system is giving up millions of the dollars in extra money, weijia jiang tells us which workers are cashing in the most.

the buildings are crumbling. >> there's rats running around and it's hot, 90 degrees in some classrooms. >> reporter: the city says there's not enough money to fix baltimore schools but there was more than $14 million in the education budget to pay for overtime in the past four years. >> very angry as a parent of a child in a baltimore city school system. i don't think it makes any sense at all. >> reporter: the mayor who's under fire for proposing raise the bottle tax only had this to say about the ot. >> no i have not taken a look at that yet. >> reporter: the bulk of the money went to pay for their school police force. overtime is necessary because 1,600 full time employees have left since 2008. >> we're paying this kind of overtime we certainly should then reconsider that we do need these jobs were necessary. >> reporter: so who's took home the most ot? it wasn't school ceo dr. andre

horse racing is a game of odds and one maryland horse has broken those odds big time. with 22 consecutive victories on a recent saturday, this super star was front and center at laurel racetrack. >> he may not be the pretty guy in the barn, he's definitely not the biggest but this guy is a superstar. he gives photographs, has a fan club. angel is the president and she won 700 miles just to see him. >> i love this horse, he's beautiful. i made a fan page because nobody had one. >> do you have any members? >> yes i do, we have 230. >> he has the desire to win. in the morning, when he gets near another horse he would work hard enough to get in front of them even in the morning.

and the records 80 in 1972 and 13 in 1990. all day long it's been a southeast wind and that's pushed the water. still high tides running in the west side. they still have a coastal fog advisory for the next tide in the western edge of the bay. drying things out, you can see the snow this afternoon in wisconsin, down in northern missouri. and some tornado activity also reported over portions of northern georgia, some tornado warnings, just in the last hour, for us this rain shield moving through the area. clearing i expect to see sunshine in the morning. looks like a pretty decent day as the front moves through the area, drier and cooler air moving in for sunday, particularly monday, looks like a pretty chilly day. southwest winds becoming west northwest in the afternoon. it will be picking up. some thunder possible, 49, tomorrow some early morning showers then clearing, breezy, 65 degrees early.
