a missing girl found dead. >> >> a young baltimore teen found dead after roller skating, hours later, family members find her body. >> >> good evening, thanks for joining us, i'm adam may. tonight, a 13-year-old girl is dead. her east baltimore family is devastated and looking for answers. "wjz" live on this breaking story. derrick has reaction from her family. >> >> reporter: it was her brother that found her buried under trash in an alley. this grief-stricken mother,

speechless. not able to comprehend the murder of her 13-year-old daughter. >> she left home to go roller skating an never returned. >> reporter: her her aunt -- >> she never came home. she never did anything like this before. we knew that. for her not to come home was out of the ordinary. we called the police and said we thought she was missing. >> >> reporter: the family said they were told to wait 24 hours before filing a missing person's report, but the victim's brother went out searching for her and found her in an alley, her body, covered with trash. >> she does have some signs of trauma, but we are not sure what she was skilled from. >> reporter: detectives going door-to-door, questioning neighbors. interviewing the young girl's friend >> she didn't walk out there by herself. someone pulled her out there. if you saw anything suspicious. give us a call.

>> >> reporter: her family heartbroken >> we never had any problems. she was a little good kid. >> reporter: neighbors left wondering who could be so cruel. >> that's a monster. what kind of human being would do something like this to a 13- year-old child. i can't describe the feeling. i have two kids. it's a monster. >> >> reporter: the victim's body taken to medical examiner. >> >> anyone with information is urged to call the baltimore city homicide detectives. >> >> a toddler has been found inside of a chuck e cheese's. the three-year-old girl said her name is harmony. her parents are nowhere to be found the girl is tonight safe with police, but officials are trying to track down her parents, anyone with information on the identity of this child is urged to call the

hartford county police. >> >> another developing story. after hours of intense standoff ends. a man was threatening his life and the life of someone else in this house. s.w.a.t. teams helped to talk that man outside and he was transported to the hospital. police have not confirmed if anyone else was in the home at the time. >> >> an indiana toddler that we told you about found alone in a field has passed away. angela backcock was taken off life support this afternoon. she died immediately after being taken off life support. all of her family, parents and two siblings were killed in the vicious tornadoes. the weekend death toll now stands at 38. . >> reporter: the pews at saint freezing rain sis xavier church packed for emotional services.

>> it indicates a decrease as well as a number of major u.s. cities. >> recently released u.s. forest service runs through 2005 and identified a decline in tree cover. >> there is of course natural disaster such as hurricane irene last august where we lost 1300 trees. we also lose trees because of a lack of adequate after care, a new tree planting. >> used to determine 17 of 20 cities studies lost tree cover while 16 saw increases in pavements and rooftops. recent tropical storms are largely to blame. baltimore lost nearly two percent of the entire tree canopy, almost twice the average for most cities analyzed the biggest culprit, baltimore's gran prix.

that's it for the entire season. as of now, if we don't get any more this season, we are looking at the third least, ever. that goes back to the 1800s. . snowshowers out there, right now. this will not add to our total. these are a burst, a round that comes and goes, part of a quick moving system that will pass through tonight into tomorrow. first, up today, storms to the south, carolinas, virginia, hiding out to sea. giving us a little rain. all of that is gone now. snowshowers showing up with the next storm system, in between, wind has picked up out of the west, bringing in colder air. look at all of us in the 30s. down into the 20s, compared to yesterday at this time, 10-15

degrees colder than it was. so our high on the day, below average. 48 degrees. that has not happened in awhile. in the next couple of days, we will be in the 40s, but we have another warmup coming our ways. upstream, this is where the chili air is coming from. it will continue to move our way tomorrow into tuesday. bringing snow to a lot of the areas that were pummeled and devastated by the tornadoes, rate and snowshowers possible alon the way, when it leaves us, still chilly, before we start the warm upon wednesday. small craft advisory in effect. going down to 28 degrees. tomorrow, we go up to the 40s. that is it. 44 for our high and another day below average on tuesday before the warm air returns it is coming back. 61 degrees on wednesday, 67 on thursday.
