victim was angel babcock. she was found alive after the rest of her family died. many hoped she would be the miracle survivor but the toddler died sunday night. a new coning of snow that fell is complicating clean up. utility workers are trying to restore power as quickly as possible. >> they spray paint on the ground where we're going to put our polls and we can't see the paint. so we have to clear the snow. >> the winter weather is also making conditions hazardous for homeowners trying to survey damage and make repairs. the wet snow is conserving nails, down power lines. >> in kentucky, there are signs of progress. clean up is in full swing and banks on reopening. >> volunteers are passing out food. >> we felt a need to try to

help. people out here haven't had a hot meal >> power may not be restored for at least a week. wjz eyewitness news. >> the national weather service issued 300 tornado warnings on friday and saturday. and breaking news out of california where two earthquakes rocked the san francisco area. just before 5:30 a.m. no serious damage or injuries. for more on those earthquakes, let's go to marty in the first warning center. >> good afternoon. let's go right to the graphic and show you what happened. we had two earthquakes. the first was a 2.9 magnitude. second 4.08 miles northeast of san francisco. these two earthquakes were felt in about a 60 mile radius. runs along the eastern san francisco bay. it

that her daughter was shot and police are questioning a neighborhood youth. >> this mother is still in shock. left home saturday night to go roller-skating and never returned. >> we never had any problems. she was just a really good kid. >> she says the family became alarmed and feared the worst. even called police 1:00 to report her missing. >> she never did anything like this before and we knew that. so for her to not to have come home was out of the ordinary. and we called the police and told them we think she's missing. >> the family says they were told to wait 24 hours but the victim's brother didn't wait. they went out searching for her and they found her in an alley. her body covered with trash. >> she does have some signs of trauma but we aren't quite sure what she was killed from.

weekend where she attended school. after a stabbing there. the men are aged 17 to 22. according to police, on saturday night the men were stabbed by an unknown group of men as they were walking to a friend's house on meadow wood drive. all five are in stable condition and are expected to recover. anyone with any information is also urged to contact police. a civil trial in the worst mass shooting begins in virginia today. joins us live. >> the parents of two virginia tech students killed in 2007 mass shooting are headed to court. they have filed a wrong full death lawsuit. they will be asked to defend their actions. killing 32 people and wounding others before killing himself. attorneys for the parents say officials waited too

now, complete forecast and first warning of severe weather. >> all right. let me explain to you what's going on. overcast skies in the region. basically looking at the northern extent of pretty good size storm moving by us down to the south. by the way that's that same weather system that brought snow to areas of the ohio valley right after the tornadoes. the bulk of the energy is down to our south. you look at our watch warning and advisory graphics, behind the table of contents there is
