damaging details, trayvon martin's parents are criticizing the sanford police department. >> did officers leak information on the case? >> hello i'm jessica kartalija. >> i'm don scott. >> here is what people are talking about today. anger continues to grow over the shooting death of trayvon mar tip. the teenager killed by neighborhood watch captain, george zimmerman, there are reports about what happened as martin's parents travel to washington dc. randal pinkston reports from sanford florida. >> reporter: police are once again on the defensive after new details were leaked about trayvon martin's death. george told officers he fired at martin in self defenses says the teen approached him from behind, punched him and bashed his head against a sidewalk. the report was consistent with their evidence and authorities are investigating the leak. the attorney for martin's parents says they are outraged. >> they can't have the leaks in

counsel chambers. mike hellgren is live. >> reporter: counsel members promised to push for answers but they are going to have to go through the court system. arundel police chief showed up before the council after his lawyer said he wouldn't. under oath the chief declined to answer any questions about whether his boss, john leopold, directed officers to illegally access a state criminal data base to dig up dirt on political enemies. >> i did not want to break the law. i decline to answer the questions. >> reporter: the chief says his lawyer said because he testified twice before a gran jury on leopold's indictment he couldn't answer questions, even general ones about police policy. aclu which pushed for the chief to say what he knows says that is not right. >> it's one of the more disgusting and shameful things i've ever seen. the notion that the chief can't

in france, new charges against dominic strauss-kahn could land him in prison for a long time. strauss-kahn is charged with aggravated pimping in connection with a french prostitution ring. this comes days before the star of a civil trial in new york city, a maid accuses strauss- kahn of assaulting her. prosecutors dismissed the criminal charges in the case. the former imf chief faces 20 years in prison. he is currently out on bail. police in san diego looking closely at a handwritten note that may help determine who fatally beat an iraqi woman to death. she was take an taken off of life support saturday. a note said go back to your country you terrorist.

a chill in the air, we started out 31, bwi marshal. 20s north and west. there was a freeze warning in e fete for the overnight -- in effect for the overnight hours. up in to the 40s for a lot of us, it jumped to the 40s in oakland. compared to yesterday at this time it's cooler. we are going to top out close to our average. high of 55 degrees. the average is 57. not that far away from it. northerly wind brought in the cool air. it's starting to die down today.
