counties, to your neighborhood, now it's complete coverage. it's wjz, maryland news station. >> a pilot is under arrest. >> why passengers are forced to restrain a jet blue pilot in the middle of a flight. >> good afternoon, aim don scott. >> and i am jessica kartalija. >> and here is what people are talking about today, it is the jet blue pilot who had a complete meltdown in midair and is now in police custody in texas. both passengers and the crew leaped into action when the captain started acting erratically, bigad shaban has the latest. >> reporter: the pilot who caused the chaos could be the first airline captain charged with interfering west his own flight. passengers say that veteran pilot clayton osbeen had a mental break down. running up the aisle rapting ranting about a bomb and screaming they are going to

take us down. the became irate after the copilot locked him out of the cockpit. >> he was banging on the door, telling him to bring the throttle to idle, we are all going to down, pray to jesus. >> they took action. >> impulsively we jumped up and grabbed him and pulled him away from the cockpit door and he started ranting. >> we had no other option but to physically restrain this individual on the ground until the plane was safely landed. >> reporter: the crew brought an off-duty pilot on board into the cockpit to help with the landing. >> we declare an emergency at this time, we are going to need priority. >> it land safely in texas and he was taken into custody. in a tv interview the president of jet blew said he has known him for years and that nothing in the pilot's record would indicate he would be a risk on a flight. bigad shaban, wjz eyewitness news. >> police and the faa

interviewed all the passengers in texas before putting them on another plane to vegas a few hours later. >> shocking new details about the night trayvon martin was shot to death by a neighborhood watch captain. ron matz is in the news newsroom with more. >> more than a month after the shooting supporters nationwide are still calling for an arrest. members of a maryland church were among those calling for the justice department to prosecute george zimmerman. now news outlets are learning that the original investigator wanted to charge him with manslaughter but he was told there was not enough evidence to overclaim the man's self- defense claim. martin was unarmed while walking back to his father's arm. zimmerman claimed he attacked him as he walked back to his car. >> zimmerman has been in hiding since then and has received several death threats.

>> it is the third and final day for oral arguments for and against the president's healthcare law at the supreme court. as crowds demonstrate they that have been focusing on those issues. the high court is expected to make a ruling in june. a man is under arrest in connection with the shooting death of his son. police have charged jamal wolford with manslaughter and wreckless endangerment. earlier this month his son was playing with his father's gun when he shot himself and wounded his mother. >> officers opened fire in montgomery county after two pit bulls attack a pair of teenagers. officials say they arrived on the scene and tried to subdue one of the animals with a stun gun that dog continued to attack forcing officers to

shoot it. the second dog was confined. investigators say the girl and boy were taken to the hospital with wounds to their arms and legs. sometime temperatures are fast approaching and with that comes news that under the mayor's new budget many pools will not be opening up. monique griego has more. >> reporter: good afternoon. the mayor says many of the pools have been neglected for years. she wants to close them to save money. when it is blazing hot in baltimore nothing cools kids off more than a pool. yet this year as in years past there may be fewer of them to take a dip. >> it has to be a concern that we are closing any resources for young people and for neighborhood residents. >> this year the department of recreation and parks wants to close seven of 13 walk through neighborhood pools to save money. the mayor says the city is facing a huge budget deficit and many of the pools have been negotiated for years. >> the once being closed are in

disrepair and have a low number of users. >> she also believes regular pools are outdated. >> they are obsolete, what kids enjoy are the splash pads we have been installing. >> county council members say they don't have things to add to the budget. they hope she is willing to compromise before they are closed. from inspection to maintenance to staffing, opening and operating a city pool is expensive. >> all of us on the city council want to work toward a good solution for young people in the city and for opportunities for young people. >> no city park pools are in jeopardy of closing and under the new plan the pools that remain open will have extended hours. and city pools are set to re-open memorial day weekend, jess, back to you. >> monique, thank you. officials have not determined which pools will be closed. >> it is not exactly pool weather yet but we are having another beautiful day and it is warmer than yesterday.

firefighters are hoping calmer weather helps them contain a huge wildfire burning in colorado. flames have destroyed or damaged dozens of homes and killed at least two elderly people. another person is reported missing. firefighters say a hot spot from a controlled burn last week may have sparked this destructive blaze. police in miami are trying to catch up with dozens of teens caught on tape ransacking a walgreen's store. the group left school early, stormed into the store, police say they raced up and down the aisles grabbing items and destroying displays, the students apparently took advantage of a walkout by
