station. >> back in court. >> the retrial of twin brother ascaused in a dog death is now underway. >> hello again, i am jessica kartalija. >> i am don scott. >> here is what people are talking about today, two brothers accused of setting a pit bull on fire are on trial for a second time. we are live at the courthouse. weijia jiang has the challenge attorneys are facing in court. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon. prosecutors expected to present opening arguments today but that may not happen because a jury has not been sat, even though this is day two of jury selections, the problem is so many people in the city have not only heard about this case they have formed a strong opinion about it. when this pit bull was intentionally torched people across the country were outraged and it is that publicity now creating a

challenge in court. 20-year-old twin brothers travis and trumaine johnson have been tried once. it ended with a hung jury. a single hold out could not be convinced to convict. on thursday morning jury selections resumeed for a retrial. the judge called for a pool with 80 potential jurors 40 more than usual. he expected to disqualify many because they already heard about what happened. once they are seated they will see much of the same evidence presented during the first trial, including video defense attorneys tried to have thrown out earlier this week unsuccessfully. animal welfare advocates are closely watching. >> we hope that there is a good verdict in the case but either way this case has brought enormous attention to animal abuse here in our city and we will be here. >> in fact thosed advocates are sitting outside the courtroom and eager for this

retrial to began and hope it sends a strong message about animal abuse. >> the most serious charge the johnsons face is animal cruelty, a felony that could send them to prison for three years. >> newly released video of the man who shot and killed trayvon martin is raising knew questions about his claim of self-defense. here is randall pinkston reporting for wjz. >> reporter: this video obtained by abc news shows george zimmerman in handcuffs taken into the police station. zimmerman told police he shot trayvon martin in self-defense after the teenager allegedly punched him and slammed his face into the concrete but the attorney for the martin family says the video tells a different story. >> there is no evidence from that video that he beat his head against the concrete. there is no visible evidence his nose is broken. >> his father is speaking for the first time and says his son's nose was broken, former judge robert zimmerman told fox

edge of the state but 70 -- 54 the temperature out there right now. it was in the 70s in our western quadrant if you want to call it that of the state yesterday and now things have cooled down and kind of leveled out. we are going from 46 in oakland to 63 in ocean city. around the metro area 58 columbia 59 annapolis and kent island and 57 rock hall, in the 60s today, got to 70 yesterday but the northwest flow is tapping into chilly air around the great lakes and canada, 21 mile per hour winds around dc. the gusts have been up around 30. we have 26 over the last hour or so. twin in cumberland and 16 mile per hour gusts and elkton and 23 mile per hour gusts over the last hour at bwi marshal. the winds are coming in behind a front that brought some thunderstorms here. that line pretty distinct and it dropped right on through the
