this newscast with breaking news. it comes in the case of trayvon martin. we have just learned the case against the teen's shooter will not before a grand jury after all down in florida. that was the announcement made minutes ago, the special prosecutor says she alone will decide if charges should be filed. trayvon was unarmed and walking home more than a month ago when a neighborhood watch part pant shot him. he says he acted in self- defense. he has not been arrested or charged yet. the other big story, the fire danger that has led to several evacuations in this area, wjz has complete coverage of the red flag warning and its weather related cause and effect. here is mike hellgren with the impact on people. >> reporter: the national weather service says conditions are ripe for explosive fire growth and we have already seen that happen. gusty winds and days without rain have created dangerous dry conditions and a red flag

warning for most of maryland, meaning wildfires could erupt as they did yesterday, prompting temporary evacuations. >> they had all this out of the road evacuation. >> very concerned for my house, my neighbor's house, the property and kids, the smoke for people that have respiratory issues. >> reporter: more than 100 firefighters responded to the fire. >> they are going to bring bulldozers in and they said it may smolder for three to four days until we get good rain but they are going to cut it. >> reporter: over the past few days we have been reporting on several fires including this one near the bay bridge. firefighters say most of these fires are not from natural causes but people starting them and urge everyone to stop open burning and watch how they despise of lit matches and cigarettes. there were fires reported over the weekend in baltimore, anne arundel and frederick counties,

of the mountains out to our wet so when might we see rain in the forecast? we will have those details coming up for you shortly. now i am going to throw it back to you. >> thank you very much, marty. in southwest baltimore city investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire in pig down. take a look at this photo. this blaze broke out on sergeant street. lots of damage but no injuries reported. a prince georges county family is mourning the sudden death of a two-year-old. police say the toddler was play in in his front yard then ran out into the street and was struck by a van. he later died. the driver of the van stopped and stayed at the scene and investigators say it is unclear if he will face charges. the clock is ticking in annapolis as lawmakers enter the last scheduled day of the session but without a finished budget. ron matz has more on what is stopping them. >> reporter: hi, don, the general assembly has less than

first court appearance. five black people were shot within a few hours and miles of each other on friday and three died. here is manuel gallegos with the latest. >> reporter: the two men accused of killing three african americans and wounding two others in tulsa faced a judge this morning. they are charged with first degree murder. 19-year-old jake especially gland and his 32-year-old roommate alvin watts were arrested yesterday. police say they are responsible for the shooting spree on friday that may be racially motivated but investigators say it is too early to call the murders a hate crime. >> it is preliminary to determine what the motivation was behind this, if the evidence supports that and we believe we can prove those elements of a hate crime that will certainly be considered at the appropriate time. >> england's father was shot and killed two years ago. per nell jefferson, who is black, was arrested as a person of interest. england's fiance and the mother of their baby also recently killed herself. the day before the shootings in

demand used a racial slur on his facebook page to describe his father's killer. it says today is two years that my dad has been gone shot. it is hard not to go off between that and cheran, i am gone in the head. >> every piece of evidence will be weighed, reviewed, compared and overlaid with the laws of the state of oklahoma. >> the arrests are a relief for the residents of tulsa, who paid tribute to the victims at easter services. manuel gallegos, wjz eyewitness news. >> the two are held in lieu of $9 million bond apiece. the navy says it is now providic compensation to those affected by military jet crash in virginia. it was on friday a fighter jet crashed into and apartment building in virginia beach. dozens of apartments are destroyed no-no one is seriously injured. the initial payments will be $2300 for each of the residents. a mechanical mal function is blamed for the crash but a full

in chicago jury selection begins today in the trial of the moon accused of murdering the family of singer jennifer hudson, william balfour is charged with killing her mother and brother in their home in 2008. police say he also kidnapped and killed her 7-year-old nephew, the 150 potential jurors will answer questions from the judge and attorneys today. opening statements are set for the 23rd of this month. in philadelphia two firefighters are killed on the job. crews were battling a warehouse blaze early this morning when a wall collapsed on them.

two firefighters are dead. three more are hurt. as crews tried to rescue the trapped firefighters they say the fire grew even larger. >> due to the high winds we had some embers blowing and we had small fires popping up towards the east of the building. at the time all those fires have been contained. >> crews eventually got the fire under control and no residents are hurt. it has been eight years since multiple firefighters have been killed while battling a single fire. the cause is still under investigation. meanwhile up in rural new jersey homeowners are on the alert as a huge brush fire is creeping closer to them. investigators the blaze began this morning and has scorched a thousand acres. no property damage has been reported but crews say several homeowners have been told to be ready to evacuate. he was a fixture on cbs for 4 decades now the world is mourning the loss of mike wallace. he died this weekend at a care

fires this afternoon. i was going to state the obvious but i don't want to jinx anything but you get where i am going with this. it is tinderbox dry and here is this red flag advisory for the entire state with the exception of garrett county. winds west-northwest at 15, gusts to 35 miles an hour. 26% humidity, 62 is our temperature. 28, 29, 83, is the barometer, 48 oakland, 60 cumberland, 60 haggerstown, low 60s elkton, easton, ocean city, mid-60s dc, pax river, navel air, essentially annapolis and kent island too, 59 bellaire, 57 westminster, 62 columbia, rock hall 61, so we have got this cool front, chillier settling into the mid-atlantic, you figure along the confluence of this there would be rain and showers. not necessarily. not like it was humid yesterday, mild, 74, but not humid. we did have rain earlier along what i would believe is the leading edge of this new air
